As it stands now, there is 80% chance that the President come 2019 will either come from PDP or APC. Also considering the current state of the Nation, i don't think any patriotic Nigerian will wish PMB(APC) another 4years in office... So Atiku is the ONLY Option..

Politics / Re: JUST-IN: Atiku To Finally Decide On Running Mates (see Prospective Candidates) by uwa1(m): 10:32am On Oct 09, 2018
We would have to weigh the electoral value of both zones and decide where we would allot it,” the source said, explaining that there was the need to maintain a balance between the existing political configuration, which requires the party to challenge the dominance of the APC in the high voting South-west by picking a running mate that would challenge the electoral advantage of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; and the need to retain the loyalty of the South-east that had remained a PDP stronghold.

Apart from zoning, Atiku is also said to be considering age and knowledge of the economy and economics as two major criterion for the selection of the running mate.

According to a source, the presidential candidate thinks his running mate has to be a much younger person as a strategy to appeal to the army of youths, which is already up in arms against the old brigade.

Atiku is, however, said to be insisting that such a young man must also have deep knowledge of the economy as his focus is on the revival of the economy to create jobs for the teaming unemployed population.

“His challenge, therefore, is how to strike the balance between getting a youthful running mate and an economy savvy candidate. Both must be rolled into one,” a source revealed.

POLITICSNASS crisis: APC, PDP Senators clash over moves to remove Saraki as Senate resumes todayPublished on October 9, 2018 By John Owen Nwachukwu

The Senator representing Ekiti South, Biodun Olujimi, PDP, has warned lawmakers of the All Progressives Congress, APC, against beating the drum of war over attempt to remove the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki.

Olujimi, who is coming in as the next Senate Minority Leader, said that Majority Leader, Ahmed Lawan as a principal officer and one of the oldest members of the eight assembly should be conversant with the workings of the National Assembly with regard to what it takes to remove presiding officers.

DAILY POST reported that Lawan had told the leadership of the APC and President Muhammadu Buhari, that the party’s senate caucus will impeach Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and “force through a lot of things” when lawmakers reconvene on Tuesday.

He said this during the APC Presidential Convention, held at the Eagle Square, in Abuja, at the weekend.

Also, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege (APC), representing Delta Central, had vowed on Monday that Saraki will be removed as Nigeria’s Senate President.

But speaking with Vanguard on the matter, Olujimi, said that the Senate was returning to face its duties more squarely.

The lawmaker, however, prayed that no one distracts them from working, adding that the unity of the Senate was more important than anybody’s inordinate ambition.

Senator Olujimi said: “The Senate leader, Senator Ahmad Lawan should not cause tension and problem in the Senate.

“He should not promise the APC what he cannot deliver, Nigerians should hold him responsible if the Senate is unable to sit because the leadership of the Senate is not by party affiliation, it is through an election among all the Senators.

“Lawan should be reminded that the election of the present Presiding officers of the Senate was done even when he was not present.

“He should be reminded that responsible senators who attended the inauguration of the Senate as announced by President Buhari elected the Presiding officers and that Ahmad Lawan as the Senate leader should be conversant with the procedure for the removal of presiding officers and for the avoidance of doubt, the Senate is solidly behind the presiding offers and we will resist any attempt that will offset the calm situation in the Senate.

“The Senate leader should please note that we are returning to handle all outstanding issues and he should be held responsible if we are not able to accomplish them.

“We ask him as one of the Principal Officers of the Senate to refrain from beating drums of war that will not do anyone any good.

“We have resolved as Senators of the Federal Republic to face our duties squarely and pray that no one distracts us.

“The unity of the Senate is more important than anybody’s inordinate ambition

Forget the hypocritical rants of lying wailers. Anyone who says PMB hasn't achieved anything is either a thief or a bigot or a lunatic or deceived or sentimental.

It's only a big time crook that will say that 200,000 N-power beneficiaries is not an achievement. PMB should have shared the #6billion used to pay them monthly among elites every month.

Anyone who dismiss the school feeding program is a slowpoke. The farmers and workers who benefit and the children whose enrollment has increased should have been at home.

It's only a scammer that will tell me that a man who met foreign reserve depleted to #30billion and increased it to a high of #47billion amidst comparatively lower oil prices has not achieved anything.

Only a lunatic will say that the security situation PMB met on ground in the Niger delta ravaged by Militants and bunkerers, Ikorodu ravaged by Badoo, South East ravaged by kidnappers, North East ravaged by Boko Haram hasn't improved under PMB .

The herdsmen they sponsor have been quiet since they started hunting for their return tickets. Their recent attempt to escalate it led to the Du pond discovery in plateau state and they have been very quiet about the revelation.

PMB inherited a rice importing economy. He inherited a fuel importing economy. He inherited an economy that was bled to death through all sorts of criminal rackets notably in the petroleum industry subsidy scam. No rail line was working when PMB came on board. Roads where in terrible shape. By the time PMB came, they had sold PHCN to their cronies in the name of DISCOS and inserted in the agreement, a ridiculous clause requiring the government to pay them some billions if their licenses are revoked. What they give Nigerians is unsatisfactory even though generation has been increased by this government from 2600-4000MW it met to 8000MW.

By the time PMB came, they have sold Nigerdock, Nicon Insurance etc. They had concessioned NPA and sacked workers who are yet to be paid till date. They had liquidated Nigerian airways whose ex- workers pay PMB is just settling. They had sold NITEL and left their ex-workers benefits for PMB to settle.

When PMB became president, 27 states were owing salaries. He gave them Paris debt refund and bailout running into trillion. Religious and ethnic bigots won't see all that.

They said Tomato was their problem, now there is tomato in abundance . They said there is no garri now Garri is in surplus. They said their headache was fuel scarcity now fuel is everywhere.

But I know that the traffic of clerics, celebrities, traditional rulers, journalists, political jobbers etc to Aso Rock has reduced drastically because they cant get big brown envelopes as before.

This set of people who were used to easy money are the ones wailing like mad dogs but we shall put them in check with facts and figures

Politics / Re: 2019: Nigerians In Europe Laud Pmb’s Emergence As APC Presidential Candidate by uwa1(m): 5:38am On Oct 09, 2018
10Ebisco:
A cross section of Nigerians in Europe have lauded the emergence of President Muhammadu Buhari as the flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 general elections.

Buhari polled a total of 14, 842,072 across the 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory during the party’s direct Presidential Primary to emerge as it’s 2019 candidate. Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Dr Saidu Abbas, a human rights lawyer in London described the move as “a positive one for continuity in governance.

“Abbas said that the emergence of Buhari would further consolidate the gains of democracy which has been recorded since 2015. “This means that there will be continuity in the fight against corruption and the general change agenda of government,” he noted. Similarly, Mrs Grace Alu, a member of the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation (NIDO), Italy, in a telephone interview, commended the APC for electing Buhari as its presidential candidate.

Alu described Buhari as the best President the nation has had since the return of democracy in 1999. “Buhari is the only selfless leader we have had since 1999.

Even the opposition can attest to that. “For Nigeria to move forward, we need someone like him who will put the nation on the right path to nation building.

“I understand the current economic situation in the country but he is not responsible for it, as a matter of fact it would be worst under the leadership of someone else.

“Let’s come together irrespective of ethnicity and religion to support the cause of nation building,” Alu stressed All others, who spoke with NAN from Switzerland, Germany , France and Belgium, urged Nigerians to be patient as government continues to deliver the gains of democracy They advised against voting corrupt candidates into power, saying that such move would take the nation 10 years backwards.

They unanimously agreed that the choice of Buhari was in the nation’s interest in terms of continuity in governance and delivery of tangible results of the change agenda. Buhari’s main opposition in the 2019 election is former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who emerged as the candidate of the Peoples Democracy Party in a convention also held on Saturday in Port Harcourt.

Press Statement

PDP: Our Presidential Primary, A Lesson to INEC, APC

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says the orderliness, transparency and credibility of its Presidential primary serve as direct lesson to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) on how elections should be conducted in present day Nigeria.

The party said that the process has shown that the electoral umpire, in its manifest compromises, has been responsible for the electoral crises at various levels of elections. It also shows that our citizens, irrespective of their individual and group interests, are capable of holding peaceful and credible elections that meet global standards.

The success of our presidential primary followed our strict adherence to democratic rules and principles of transparency and fairness, which has eluded the nation since President Muhammadu Buhari-led licentious administration assumed office. Simply put, in the PDP Presidential primary, every vote counted.

Nigerians are therefore no longer in doubt that our compromised electoral umpire, under the Buhari administration, is ostensibly culpable for injecting rancorous situations that create openings for violence, manipulations, inconclusive polls and outright rigging of elections.

We invite the whole world to note that the PDP conducted its Presidential primary and a clear winner, Atiku Abubakar, emerged, without any form of disagreements or reliance on heavy security, showing that Nigerians are peaceful, orderly and desirous of credible processes at all levels of political engagement.

The PDP therefore charges INEC to stop blaming voters, accept responsibility for its failure to conduct credible elections and learn from our presidential primary, as we approach the 2019 general elections.

Finally, the PDP restates its determination to dismantle APC's rigging machinery and return credible processes in all spheres of our national life.

[s]ITS ATIKULATE!
Saraki had his doubts cleared.
There are small ponds, and there is a big pond. Being "smart", he was supposed to play well in the big pond, but he allowed his dubious nature to get ahead of him. Nobody trusts a snake.
Tambuwal miscalculated when he thought Wike would make a convenient shortcut to wooing delegates. He believed too much in the Wike hype of being in control of the PDP, but that support could only get him to second place. Wike might be a "god" in the creeks, but when it comes to national politics, he is just a lousy tout with deep pockets that the system threw up. You dont browbeat people at this level, especially when you cant enforce ya infantile threats, or impress men who are richer than you would ever be.. Now he has to go home and deal with Wammako.
Kwankwaso should go home and play Tom and Jerry with Ganduje. That is what you get when you are imbued with inordinate ambitions. Or when you listen to too many voices whispering in ya head at night.
The rest should go home, at least we can gratuitously refer to them as FPAs- "Former Presidential Aspirants", and what they spent wouldnt have been a waste, the "FPA" is now a National Merit Award.
For Wike, he tried, but Atiku was already a politician when Wike was still dragging IGR with harassed shop-owners in Obio/Akpo. While Wike doubted Atiku's call for restructuring, the man went around the country telling them sob stories and buying consciences.
I heard they spent enough, but I wasnt there, those who were said that Atiku spent like a man on a mission- a man who knew this would be his last attempt and hope of ever becoming awa president- so he paid through the nose for a prize he has been coveting for decades.
If nothing else, we could say the results have been fair, and nobody imposed- but typical of our politicians, the grumbling will start sooner or later. Dreamers will go home and dream about their regrets. Some will forgo politics for a while. And some will just retire themselves.
Now, he has Buhari with "15mil" votyes already in the kitty to deal with. The man that shunned him and never gave him a call to discuss national issues. Now he has a platform to tell us all he had to say, and by the end of february, 2019, we will clear his doubts for all eternity.
As for me, I am going to have a lot of fun watching my friends as they campaign for another Islamic, Fulani Grandpa with a "Diploma" in Hygiene and questionable, corrupt antecedents who cannot even come to Amelika like Eddie Murphy.

Politics / Re: Analysis Of The Massive Financial Corruption At The Pdp Primary/national Convent by uwa1(m): 1:18pm On Oct 07, 2018
albaniy1:
[s]ANALYSIS OF THE MASSIVE FINANCIAL CORRUPTION AT THE PDP PRIMARY/NATIONAL CONVENTION - A MUST READ!

Written by Sirajo Sabo Gassol.

There are at least 4,000 delegates participating in PDP's presidential primary election. Saraki is paying each delegate $1,000 (N350,000), that is potentially $4Million (N1.4 Billion) for delegates alone, his opening bid as at yesterday. Atiku opened his own bid at $5,000 (N1,750,000) per delegate, or $20,000,000 (N7 Billion) for all the delegates. Nyesom Wike was paying $10,000 per delegate, or $40,000,000 (N14,000,000,000) for delegates alone. These figures were part of the early bids as at yesterday. Nobody knows how much they finally paid, but some inside sources said it's been up to $15,000 (N5,250,000) per delegate.

There are at least 12 aspirants contesting in this election, and by the time they're done hundreds of billions of naira must have changed hands. Only that they're not spending it in naira, they're spending it in dollars. When we told you that the recession that happened due to the hoarding of dollars and depletion of our foreign reserves and excess crude account was caused by the PDP you denied...

So where did they get the dollars they're spending now from? How many of them have any private business that generates so much wealth? Or are they simply spending money belonging to poor people? What exactly are they buying that they have to spend so much? Is it only vote they're buying or our future with it? Are these the same bunch of hypocrites who like to release press statements condemning vote buying when election does not go their way but who are shamelessly buying votes right under our noses? Can we honestly expect anything good from this same characters who said they have repented and that we should forgive them their sins but who have not shown any sign of repentance at all? How exactly will they "change the change" if they have not even changed their own corrupt ways?

The signs are always there, right before our very own eyes. Everything to show that the one who promises El Dorado is nothing but a fraud, but we almost always chose to ignore them because of our own prejudice and personal interests. How exactly is a Saraki, a Tambuwal, a Kwankwoso, an Atiku who is being sponsored by money stolen from poor people better than a Buhari who was voted in by the ordinary masses of Nigeria without a single dime changing hands? I trust some of you would like to remind me that when Buhari first came into power that he was sponsored by stolen money too, but you're saying that that Buhari should give way for someone better... So how exactly is the one you're supporting today better? Would you not rather stick with the "devil" you know than the wolves in sheep clothing that we all know are even far worse?

If you think Buhari is bad then wait for Kwankwoso, wait for Atiku, wait for Saraki and wait for Tambuwal. These are people who have no pity for the poor. At least Buhari pities the poor, which is why he pays them NPOWER, gives their children free feeding in school, gives them conditional cash transfers, invests heavily in food production through his agric revolution, gives bailouts to state governments to pay salaries, and refused to devalue the naira...

So, if you see all that and say Buhari is bad then wait for a people who have no respect for poor people. Saraki is today the Senate President, what has he done to restructure the country which is a constitutional matter? What has he done to improve the welfare of poor people? Tambuwal is today the governor of Sokoto State, should he not first transform Sokoto State before coming to ask for a bigger responsibility? When he was speaker of the House of Reps, what did he do about the restructuring he's deceiving us with today? That one called Atiku was the most powerful Vice President in Nigerian history, yet only used his powers to enrich himself and his cronies at the expense of the poor masses.

Listen to them talk today, none of them says anything about corruption... Is that because corruption is dead in Nigeria or because they simply do not have the moral ground to speak against it? None of them tells us what they're going to do to strengthen institutions like the police, judiciary, INEC etc... None of them has any clearcut plan on the economy, security, restructuring, power supply, job creation, education, healthcare, restructuring. The only thing they say is "Buhari has failed, we're going to do better because he who failed woefully before have repented", even though there is no evidence to that.

I just pity the gullible wailers who don't know their left from their right, this is why these people are playing them like football.

Sirajo Sabo Gassol.
