I stopped by the passport office to know what's up because I have submitted my documents already. Was told if the application status doesn't change to Approved there is nothing he can do and I cannot capture.

I think maybe it depends on the kind of correction you want to do. Mine was interchanging my first name and my middle name so as to tally with what I have in my NIN, but I don't know if correction of Surname or date of birth can be done here without going to Abuja. That I can't really say

The issue here is just the removal of my middle name as it doesn't match my NIN. I don't want to change my NIN as it matches with all my other documents that carries just two names

A change of date of birth is exclusive to NIS HQs, Sauka Abuja. All other corrections can be done at State passport offices nationwide.

Because I'm in similar situation with an expired passport and I want to do a renewal. Was told my NIN name doesn't match the old passport so corrections has to be made first.

Does anyone have information concerning change of name for males can be done in Lagos or one has to still go to Abuja

But you should equally try as much as possible to go back for the capturing in time

I really can't remember the expired Time to do your capturing after booking but I think is within a year and shouldn't pass. Thou I really can't remember the exact time.

You can only do such change at Abuja.

And if you are lucky it will be done within 6months you applied otherwise na a year plus ooo.

I equally intend doing same but when I see all the stress and money involved , I jejely change the name on my nin and the date of birth on my bvn to correspond with others

I will just take a pause for now till I'm free to travel to Abuja.
Hope if I miss my booked appointment it won't affect my application processing later when I decide to do the name change.

Sure very possible.

You go to Abuja with your relevant documents such as nin , court affidavit and a letter stating the reason for the change. Is going to cost you around 50+ anyways

I'm applying for a passport renewal, and my old passport carries 3 names. I wish to not use my middle name in the new passport. Is it possible? My NIN and every other required document carries only my first and last names. I hope there won't be any issues with dropping my middle name for the new passport. Please let me know if this would cause any problems or if I need to provide any additional documentation, like newspaper name publication.
