It's safe over there as long as you maintain your lane. ( we all know no where is entirely safe in Nigeria as a whole) There is nothing to be scared of. Don't let ppl bullshit you. I also had this fear when I got my admission..The rate of crime in the North is low as to those in PH, Benue or Edo. No cultist clash like we used to hear of..well, aside the issue of insurgency over there which is not even close to Minna. I'm currently schooling in the North East (4 years now). Haven't had any issue. Just ensure you don't go into religious arguments. You will love your stay.

Go to your dial pad and dial this code *#*#4636#*#*. Select your sim of choice you like to change the network. Select WCDMA only for 3G only. Your network won't fluctuate to Edge no matter how bad the network is.
Downside is, you have to dial the code whenever you restart your phone or you put it on airplane mode.

This has really been an eye opener for me. I'm still an undergraduate tho currently going for my 1 year Industrial training. But the strike has halted that.Was thinking of going to work to get some pay but I'm thinking of taking a U-turn to acquire a digital skill( learn more to the little I know) as the country is no longer smiling. I just installed Google camera on my RN5 without rooting. The only thing is the focus in portrait mode isn't really good. The slow motion isn't working. The front camera on the Gcam isn't working. But every other thing is good and better than the normal Xiaomi camera especially pictures with low light or landscape.

Worked for me on my RN6pro . all functions both slow motion n portrait were perfect. It requires no rooting but you need a computer for this n your bootloader must be unlocked
