Someone on the previous version of this thread, got assessed positively based on his Nigerian degree in Architecture. Loads of others have used their basic BSc to obtain a positive assessment.

That aside, not all Nigerian degrees are assessed positively. But i can almost guarantee that 5yr degrees from any uni, and 4yr degrees from Federal unis and a few state unis, qualify. E.g Someone from IMSU got a negative assessment, while someone from OAU got a positive assessment...both 4yr courses...same assessing body.

Thanks for this. Please is there a way you can link me to this architect that got a positive assessment?

With regards to question 2,if there's anyway she can get more than 65 points as an accountant/auditor she should pursue it with all zeal. The last 65 points accountant invited by 189 was around Oct/Nov last year.
So there's a backlog from then and she's going to join the queue maybe Aug this year.

I have had 70points as external auditor since February and NSW has not even looked at my side.I reassessed with ICAA as general accountant since June and still yet no invite(the first round of invite happened on 6th July and mostly 75pointers were invited).
Even auditors there's no news about them been invited on that 6th.TBA is what Dibp put against the occupation as at 2days ago.

I would suggest though that you assess with ICAA as they tend to be quite lenient and you can assess multiple occupations with them. They assesed me positive with only a first degree from a state university.
I hear with CPA,you can only have one valid skill assessment with them.So if they assess you positive as auditor, you would need another body to assess you as accountant.
For a better understanding on occupational ceiling please visit this link http://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Work/Skil/22-june-2016-round-results. Thank you.

Concerning accountAncy the occupational ceiling is high and the number of accountants that apply through skillselect is like 3 times the occupational ceiling made available. This is why the competition is high. And already the ceiling for accountants 2015-2016 is already filled and it is just mid year. This will tell you how competitive this discipline is.

Hi Uzzi. On the contrary, I reckon most of the successful applicants in this forum got positive assessment using their 1st degrees from Nigeria, especially the Engineers. For architecture, am not aware. But I believe you'll get a positive response. Try it out Uzzi. You and hubby should write to the appropriate assessing authority. Send them an enquiry email and ask for their requirements. All d best

Thanks for your quick response. We will do that very soon. Congrats once again.

Hello bro. No such criteria for a Permanent Residency Visa 189 or 190. However some states require POF before nomination is given under visa 190.
I had a Nigerian degree but I also have an Australian bachelor's degree. Your Nigerian degree can be assessed as meeting up with Australian Qualifications framework. I scored 60points on skillselect.

Thanks for your reply. Please i want to find out if any person with only a nigerian 1st and may be 2nd degree has gotten a positive assessment. As my husband and i have only nigerian degrees in Architecture and most people in this forum that has got a positve assessment all have foreign degrees attached to their nigerian degree.
Thanks for your response.

Hello people, please I have plans of migrating to Australia through the independent skills visa option. I really want to know if anyone (Nigerians) have migrated through this Visa option. Also I would like to know if there is any Nigerian Practicing Architect in Australia in this forum
I really need to inquire from such a person if there are job opportunities in this field over there and also if our Educational Qualifications are accepted by the AACA (Accreditation body for Architects).

Thanks.

No.
I got a Skilled Recognised Graduate Temporary Visa ( Subclass 476). It's valid for 18 months from date of 1st entry to Oz.
I didn't know much about the Skilled Independent Visa when I applied for mine. But now that I'm aware, Subclass 189 is in view; I'll need to get good IELTS score coz I need the 20 points to meet the minimum score for Skilled Independent Visa.

I'm an Engineering graduate (BEng in Chemical Engineering and MSc in Drilling Engineering).

I applied in January, 2016 and got it in March, 2016.

Best Wishes

Wow!! This is good, it means the visa process does not take long. We are looking forward to going through the skillselect for Visa 189 and 186. Hopefully we will gather all the requirements by next year and then fill the skillselect/ EOI form online in anticipation for the invitation to apply for visa.
I am an Architect. Congratulations!! will keep in touch.
Thanks.

@yeyechris, my issue now is I no longer reside in Lagos. My family is in abuja. So I dont know if there is any preferences for married women aspect of posting. Pls tell me.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: NSITF Interview In August by uzziii: 4:04am On Jun 03, 2012
yeyechris: The salary isnt fantasic at all. We were also asked to resume immediately after induction. On the first day of resumption, we were paid something to cover for transportation and accommodation. The payment however is based on your given address. i.e if u gave an abuja address in your application and the induction is in abuja then no payment even if you actually resides in lagos. Good luck
Pls I would love to know your department. Also I would like to know the situation of things there( work- wise) since you have resumed.

Really u guys are bringing unnecessary tension into ur lives. We have waited this long, can't u guys tarry some more. U guys are just allowing fellow men to bambusle u. If Stacy says praise the lord what's wrong with that. U can't force him to tell u why his praising God. And for goodness sake lets just Relax.
