Manchester United vs Liverpool FC

Easily the biggest fixture of the weekend is Sunday's noon-time match-up between Manchester United and Liverpool in the English Premier League. Both sides could really use the three points, having each thrown away a match or two so far this season.

As we progress further and further in, it becomes all the more apparent that Chelsea look set to dominate the English Premier League this year- truly looking a class apart.

Liverpool are in a worse situation than United at the moment and they need to start producing more goals ASAP. Joe Cole looks a bust at this point and he will need to produce a big performance on Sunday.

Steven Gerrard will be the go-to-guy for Liverpool, doubtlessly, but he simply can't do it himself all the time. Somebody else needs to step up for Liverpool and their fans will likely become increasingly frustrated if Torres doesn't start showing much more acumen in front of goal.

Man Utd have it all to do, losing two points in 3mins at Everton. Striker Wayne Rooney hasn't been at his devilish best and who can blame him? Antonio Valencia is out for the season with a broken ankle. Owen is looking increasingly frustrated and wants more playing time.

The good news Rio is back and will be in defence and could partner Vidic or Evans.

Fresh off from the 6-0 thrashing of Braga in the UCL, Arsenal visit Sunderland at the Stadium of light hoping to keep pressure on leaders Chelsea and get all 3 points.

The Gunners have a potent attacking force at their disposal, but the main key to their ability is the midfield partnership between Andrei Arshavin and Francesc Fabregas.

Upfront, Marouane Chamakh has been impressive so far in the campaign, getting goals and setting up a few. Players like Vela and Walcott are gradually stepping up.

Arsenal are without Diaby,Walcott, RVP, Bendtner and Djorou. .

Sunderland
On the other hand, Sunderland will have to make do without their suspended captain Lee Cattermole for the match, after being dismissed in the opening day match against Birmingham City, the midfielder was red-carded in the clash with Wigan Athletic last Saturday for two bookable offences.

Darren Bent was the club’s leading goalscorer last season as his 25 strikes across all competitions helped to secure another season in the top flight for the Black Cats. He has scored two league goals already this season, but the pressure for him to deliver in front of the opposition goal has become a little less intense for the England international with the arrival of Asamoah Gyan.

The Ghana striker was signed from Rennes for a club record fee of £13m before the transfer window closed. He has already begun to repay Sunderland boss Steve Bruce’s faith in him after he scored in the 1-1 draw against Wigan.

Though Sunderland can boast a pair of quality strikers, they will struggle to pick up any points against one of the league’s big guns this weekend.
