I don't know what legacy that bozo is talking about? His only claim to fame before WWE was a flippy matches with Ospreay and being a masked mute on Lucha Underground.
He wasn't even the Ace of juniors in NJPW as Kushida had that locked down.

In WWE, they gave him the IC and US titles. That's his ceiling as he can't cut promos and didn't have a character beyond cool moves.
It's same issue Cedric, Apollo Crews, Murphy, Tony Nese had.
Mustapha Ali was different from the other guys. He had personality and could cut promos but never got the titles Ricochet won.

The same Ricochet relies more on Character work in AEW these days to stand apart from other flippy guys.

What you've said is true but I've seen many matches where her opponents struggle to get out of that position. Some roll out of the ring while others counter with an electric chair drop.
Many moves don't involve struggle to execute in modern wrestling thus it becomes a choreographed dance routine.
See Bandido 21plex finisher. Swerve's stomp, The Spanish fly, Kofi's trustfall, Canadian destroyer etc.
When Jim Cornette criticises this, wrestling fans especially AEW call him an old dinosaur.

The crowd was quiet my ass. Triggered Wrestling and them biased takes.
It's ironic hearing an AEW fan saying moves demand too much cooperation.

Alex Shelley created that move, was doing it on ROH and TNA over 20years ago. Madison Rayne and Charlotte did it for years too.
It got popular with Stephanie because of Booker T outrageous reactions.
She was doing it on CMLL and NJPW as a regular move without the hype.
