Fibromyalgia: Curable Despite What Your Doctors Says

Taking a Natural Approach to Finding a Cure

By Michael E. Platt, MD

I have often told my patients that if they are feeling aches and pains, the best thing they can have is fibromyalgia. Of course, a statement like that tends to create some confusion, considering that people with fibromyalgia are always told there is no cure for this condition. But, in fact, fibromyalgia is curable—despite what doctors say—when the underlying cause is treated.

Curing a disease requires treating the underlying cause of the condition; however, today’s medical system concentrates instead on treating symptoms, often with extremely toxic medications. In the case of fibromyalgia, the drug Lyrica, used to treat nerve pain, fits comfortably into this category. In addition, do not be deceived by the manufacturer’s TV ad suggesting that the pain of fibromyalgia is due to the overstimulation of nerve endings.

The pain of fibromyalgia, which is neither an inflammatory condition nor an autoimmune disease, is actually caused by the buildup of lactic acid in muscle tissue and tendon sheaths. It is the same pain referred to as “muscle burn” by athletes who work out. At this point it has become obvious that in order to eliminate the pain of fibromyalgia, one has to prevent the buildup of lactic acid, which, in turn, is accomplished by treating the underlying cause(s) of this condition.

There is no simple, one-size-fits-all underlying cause of fibromyalgia, but all causes share common factors. For example, the only situation that creates a buildup of lactic acid is persistent muscle tension over a certain amount of time. There are a number of things that can lead to muscle tension, but the one we will focus on is internalization of anger.

Anger can be an extremely powerful emotion. If people do not allow it to be released, it will be internalized and produce a situation creating persistent muscle tension, producing the buildup of lactic acid.

So the question arises: “Where does this anger come from?”

There appear to be two major sources: an extremely stressful relationship, such as living with an abusive spouse, necessitating “walking on eggshells;” or caregiving for a family member, requiring putting one’s own life on hold until that person passes on. The second major source of anger is actually a lot more common, and although it is consistently unrecognized as a source of anger, it is thankfully a lot easier to address. At this point we have arrived at the most common underlying cause of fibromyalgia: the presence of excess adrenaline.

As many people are aware, adrenaline is known as the fight-or-flight hormone. It is extremely powerful and is certainly capable of creating intense anger such as “road rage.” (I will be discussing the interrelationship between adrenaline and fibromyalgia, but please be aware that this hormone is also the underlying cause of many other conditions that are also felt to be incurable.)

As previously mentioned, the pain of fibromyalgia is caused by a buildup of lactic acid from constant muscle tension. Again, this can be caused by anger from certain interpersonal relationships or from the release of excess adrenaline. Contributing to the buildup is the tension of the muscles compressing small veins—venules—which carry lactic acid out of muscles. At the same time, muscle tension similarly compresses lymphatic vessels that also function to remove lactic acid from muscles. This creates a situation where the lactic acid is continuously building up, but is not able to be drained.

In addition, this persistent muscle tension is responsible for the constant fatigue that fibromyalgia patients complain of. Muscle tension is also responsible for other symptoms associated with this condition, such as temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJ)—which causes pain and dysfunction in the jaw—the grinding of teeth, restless leg syndrome (RLS)—unpleasant sensations in the legs and an uncontrollable urge to move them—and occipital neuritis, which is a headache often confused with a migraine because of its severe pain radiating from the base of the skull to the back of the eye.

If one is able to accept that excess adrenaline is the underlying cause of many cases of fibromyalgia, then one can easily postulate that the lowering of adrenaline can actually be curative of this condition—and it is. Additionally, eliminating those stresses caused by the actions of other people can also cure fibromyalgia caused by unfortunate life situations. I have witnessed this repeatedly in multiple cases. It might not be easy getting rid of an abusive spouse, arranging caretakers for a family member, or even separating from a pet that causes anger, but the health rewards are worth pursuing these changes.

To lower adrenaline levels, we must first understand why the body overproduces this hormone. Up until a certain time in history, the body only produced excess adrenaline in times of danger. It allowed people to either face the danger or run away from it—the fight-or-flight response. Such a physical response lasted only a few minutes, and as soon as the danger passed, the adrenaline level returned to normal. Today, however, there are people who release adrenaline all day and night without being in danger. So why is this?

First, a little background information. It is important to understand that the brain uses more sugar than any other part of the body. When sugar is taken away from the brain, the brain falls asleep. This is commonly referred to as hypoglycemia. People often get sleepy between 3 and 4 p.m., when insulin levels peak. When insulin goes up, blood sugar goes down. Some people get hypoglycemic after eating, simply because food stimulates the release of insulin (some foods more than others). It is also not unusual for people to get sleepy in a car, either as a driver or as a passenger. The reason for this is that the brain uses up a lot of fuel when a person is riding in a car. From a survival standpoint, the body always wants to make sure the brain has enough fuel.

Thus, any time the body detects a low amount of fuel in the brain, it releases adrenaline to raise sugar levels. It is a process called gluconeogenesis, mediated by the sympathetic nervous system, and allows for the conversion of protein into sugar. We are now at the point that it is possible to visualize how fibromyalgia can be significantly improved simply by providing the brain with the necessary fuel to prevent the need for releasing adrenaline. Generally speaking, it only takes about 24 hours to significantly reduce adrenaline. This reduction causes a relaxation of muscle tension and an improvement in circulation, which allows for the elimination of excess lactic acid.

The best sugar for the brain can be found in green vegetables. However, the best fuels for the brain are those oils that create ketone bodies in the brain, such as coconut oil or palm oil. By incorporating these foods into your diet, you should notice a reduction in symptoms of excess adrenaline fairly rapidly. The other major component needed for reducing adrenaline is using bio-identical progesterone cream that has a strength of 5 percent (50 mg) per pump—the amount required to block adrenaline and control insulin. Additionally, ancillary aids to help with the symptoms of fibromyalgia include d-ribose, magnesium, coenzyme Q10, and certainly a high dose of vitamin D3 (10,000 to 15,000 IU per day), along with vitamin K2 (MK-7).

Generally speaking, use of these methods often leads to a cure for fibromyalgia in three days to three weeks.

Hmmmmmmmmm..........@matiloco,
I know what it means to work in the sun.I feel your pain Bro.And I stay and work in ras al khaimah as well.where in rak do you stay/work??
We all have stories to tell. You just have to be focused on what you want to achieve/become in a few months time. Draw a master plan and let that be your source of motivation.Believe me,with determination and a little patience You will look back to this day and ask ..........NA ME BE THIS?
Believe me,my first job in UAE was as a security, after that I worked on the beach in the hot sun and my Duty starts every everyday from 7am to 8/9pm everyday for 7months.No off day,no public holiday. It was like hell but I took it in good strides because I was focused on my master Plan. And i can tell you that it's all history today.
So from time to time situation arises that always makes me look back,re examine my situation and ask myself.....NA ME BE THIS?
I give God the Glory for Blessing my Hustle.
@Justi4jesu,You're always appreciated.
@Halimacurves,nice meeting you on here. You've said it all.
The struggle continues till I finish the the Progressive journey that I've started.

@matiloco i like your message and i would like to contribute to this....here on this thread what is the number one instruction..DIY...do it yourself...research yourself, plan yourself, book flight and visa yourself, search yourself. With the DIY there's no guarantee and this thread is not to guarantee you a job but simply serves as a guide for you. It doesn't mean you are assured a job. I would have said your comments are aggrandizing but in actual fact you are helping us verify our claims which are that there are better opportunities here in UAE that the menial jobs some people here feel are branded 'for Nigerians only' are done by mostly bangali and pakistani nationals..and I can bet you are very few Nigerians doing the job you do...if not only you in your company. If you have basic English language skills and/or secondary school leaving certificate kindly ADVANCE AND IMPROVE yourself...with UAE certifications that can better your remaining years here...try gcas.ae. ..iata.org...hse.gov.uk or even dps if possible...better still...fervently pray for direction from the MOST HIGH and keep researching and planning as you have advised all of us and it will be well with you...if you dont like books search for biz opportunities with prayer...surely if you look well there is a way for you...best regards bro and I wish you greater experiences than the unfortunate present situation...quote author=agarawu23 post=44476275]just seeing this. God bless you for your honest review.

Thank you bro for sharing. At least you are not among the suffering and smiling ppl that can't tell the truth due to their Nl familiarity.

henrimoto: @valentony, good evening. how are you doing and how is work ? you have a message.... by the grace of God, you will get a better place of work..(somebody, say amen to that..) but before you leave, make sure do what mike tyson did to the ear of evandal holifield, to that yeye pakistani supervisor. if you dont how to begin with, this is how- tell him you want to whisper into his ear,....off you go. (i read somewhere that pakistanis have soft ears. justi4jesu,dr. dre, monchouu. is it true?) make sure you tell him your reasons for doing this to him. so that next time,he wouldn't betray a nigerian @ work place. naija no dey carry last. you wouldn't carry last IJN. (i cant hear your amen o.) UMUNNA PROGRESSIVE PEOPLE. (UPP)! Yes we can!!! that is the message for you valentony. thank you for listening.
lolzzz....@henrimoto.
as for the Prayer, I receive and say a very BIG amen to that.
as per the ear bitting.....that one na very serious matter ooo.
Nemesis is really catching up with every single one of them now.

we are having some staff training and it will last for a week.
at first, the facilitator will ask questions and anyone can answer it.
but after the second lesson, she will only allow us to answer after she must have ask and asked the Indians, Pakistanis and Nepalese.
when we answer a question, she will tell us to explain it more to them.
omo see as intimidators started feeling intimidated.

@the end of every training, we will be divided into group A,B and C.
and each group will choose a leader to make a presentation on cardboard paper and present to the whole class.
you need to see the way they copy Michael Jackson style of backsliding to move away from front, lest the training manager calls them to lead the group

throughout the 4 days of training so far,we(Nigerians) are the ones that leads all the group in preparing and presenting the group work.

.....the latest development now is that all the security people will be moved to other departments.according to them, the govt. of ras al khaimah told them to outsource security personnel.

now, they are very confused after interviewing us for the second time.

as for the Nepalese, they told them point blank that they will be moved to house keeping positions.
and that there salaries will be just. 1000 dirams.

as for the Nigerians, they told us individually that they are thinking of where to put us that won't affect our salary.
all fingers are crossed till end of December, when the main security people will move in.

.....some days before the first batch of Nepalese came, everyone was so tensed up that we were all trying to connect with people we know in Dubai for any opening ,no matter how good or bad it is.
one gardener was sacked cos he was very sick from working outdoors from am to pm.

3 fillipino house keepers were also sacked because they were too tired to do overtime.

and according to someone in management we are the next in line to go.
but alas it was not to be so because of the delay and when they eventually came, we were disappointed at the organization for the kind of replacement they brought for us.

we were to show them the way we do it.within two weeks, the management realized that their new security is not half as competent as the Nigerians plus the fact that they are not educated, cannot speak or write basic English and cannot carry out the simplest of task.

ogakpatakpata: @valen2ony.................waiting for your memoirs & gist..... cheesy
i'm so sorry for the delay.....
I read about people talking about freezone and labor.
and I have this to say:
I work with a freezone company but right now if I get an offer to work in labor,I will gladly accept provided that the salary is up to 5000dirams and above.

as you all know that I got my job some days before my visa expired.
I was very happy and I appreciate God till date, for not making me go home empty handed.

despite the small salary (1400dirams) I was more than happy to sign my offer letter.
especially, when the company told us that they will send our return tickets with visa to us in naija(which they did).

in the offer letter, it was written that after 3months period of probation,we will be confirmed as staff and our salary will be reviewed for increment(which the did not).

before this time,I got a job with a labor company with 700dirams + 200 dirams feeding allowance .
no off period no holiday.
I thank God for all the people here who told me not to take it.

with prayer and encouragement from everyone on this thread and a little hustle on my side God finally got the job for me.

everything was okay for the first week joining the company by the second week we started seeing things that makes us wish for another alternative company.

it all started when the GM handed us over to the head of. engineering dept who is a Pakistani.
we were all 9 Nigerians in all and 4 of us were in security the others are in house keeping and gardening.
we have like 10 Indians and 15pakistanis.and 5fillipinos.

since we could not speak Hindi language, whenever there is any issue and we were called to the management to discuss it,the language of communication will change to Hindi and after that, you will be told to go.
the next day,you will realize that they have filed a report against you to the GM.turning the case against you.

Long story short, the management decided to sack all the Nigerians before the end of our probation period and the convince the GM to employ other national to take our positions(which he did).

he went down to Nepal and employed up to 50+ Nepalese.
their visa was delayed by immigration and before they could get 15 visas across to Nepal, we had already clocked 3months plus.

@igwe,
able Chiefs and my fellow country men,
I'm sorry for the gap in communication on my path.
I was in a serious dilemma and I had to make a quick decision before it's too late.

I decided to stay behind to get my Visa before exit as advised but finally I had to go back to naija for the following reasons:

1.the company told us to call a particular number as soon as we step into naija, for the Visa processing to be activated.

2.the people that have been given employment two weeks before us followed the same process and got their Visa and ticket sent to them in naija.

3.my landlord is the one that introduced me to the hotel manager.
he called him in our presence, and he assured him tha
t since an offer has been made and we have accepted, the company will keep up to the agreement and expect us to uphold our own part as well.

4.the naija man I met there called me some days later to help him reset some code on his mtn sim when I get to naija.
he also asked me to buy some worm expeller and some other drugs when coming back.
when I told him about my fears, he laughed and told me to follow him to his room.

he showed me his emirate card and told me that he came in march and was employed immediately.
he did not exit because he came in with a 3months visit visa.

he said that the company usually send tourist Visa holders to Oman with their Visa in hand.
but due to the problem of some employee, the company decided to send each person thier Visa in the country of origin.

I collected the sim card from him.

5.my Visa was about to kalax and my Agent wants 900dirams for another month which I cannot afford at the moment.

so,i decided to leave everything to God and do as instructed by the company.

all I need now is prayers....
'cos I know that the Lord is at work.

my landlord had already told us how he took some boys to the same hotel after the interview, they signed there offer letters.
the company paid for their exit to oman.
but as they got to the point to collect their Employment Visa one of the guys had different employment Visas from two different company.

he signed an offer with a security company.with basic salary of 1800 dirams.

after that he signed the hotel contract of employment with basic salary of 1400 dirams because he prefers the hotel job.

the issue was resolved by labor and the hotel was made to pay a steep penalty for it.

so,when my landlord called him for vacancy. he told him he needs only 3 of us.

after the interview, we were told that we must go to Nigeria for exit.
he said that we must call the hrm office from Nigeria so that the Visa processing can begin immediately.
the Visa will take them 3days/one week to be ready.

I just received a mail from them that I should forward my passport page to the for processing.

now my landlord has assured us that it will be sent.
even, the security man we met @the place congratulated us all and even told us that once we have signed the offer letter there is no problem.

my landlord took me and 15 others to a security company.
the manager of the company had told him that each of us should come along with a 2000drms per.

to hasten the Visa processing since they are about to stop employing medians .

I had to borrow 1k from friends to add to my 1k from home.

on getting there, we met a LOCAL and he told us "point blank" that
Nigerians, Pakistanis,Yemen Bangladesh citizens are not allowed anymore.

we submitted our cvs and left, along the way home, I asked him about a hotel he told me about.

he asked if I can work in the middle of nowhere?
I told him "as long as its legal and salary is paid".
he used his phone to call someone.

he then took me with 2 others to Rasakama (another state from Dubai ).he said, the manager told him to bring only 3 people.
it's a very BIG hotel/resort centre in the middle of nowhere surrounded by water.
and it's almost ready for operation.
it's like two and half hours journey.
we met with a British man who interviewed us one after the other.
I was the last person to be interviewed.
after my interview with him I was already happy to go out of his office when he told me to wait a moment.
he called someone on the phone and another British man came in.
the first man told him to take me to an empty office for cross examination.

Na for there fear come enter my heart.!!!!
because this other man no dey laff at all.

he interviewed me for 15minutes and after verifying and making copies of all my credentials, he told me that I must get rid of my beard.

I said no problem SIR.

after cross examination of the others,we we're told to wait for some time.

we were called to the hrm office to sign an offer letter.
2 of us got security Job.the 3rd person did not do so well, so he was given a house keeping position.

basic salary for security is 1400dirs ,house keeping is 900dirs.
health, feeding, accommodation and transportation is on the company.

plus other unspecified benefits /bonuses.

we are to exit the country to naija before processing of Visa.

one way ticket will be sent along with the Visa.

this is my testimony.
