Do you need a transit visa if you hold a valid US visa?

This point is ignorant and at best, myopic. Several federal universities have summer exchange programmes. You can choke on your glorified secondary school all you want. Bullshit.

It will be an issue, did u declare in ur visa application that you shall be staying at ur family friends place? If No and you have cancelled the hotel booking, you had better book that same hotel for that date so you won't have issues at the POE. Cos you shall be asked to fill a form, in which all ur answers must not be different from what u wrote in ur visa application. Don't kobalize urself.

Thanks Askari01. I haven't cancelled my booking yet. You mean there's no way I can stay with my family friend? My hotel booking lasts only 12days while my flight booking shows I'll be in the UK for 17 days. Do I have to book and extra 5 days now?

Hello Justwise, Vicjustice and everyone else.

I'll be travelling to the UK for the 1st time in a couple of days. On my visa application form, I booked a hotel. But a family friend has asked me to stay with them so as to save me the cost of staying in a hotel. Will be this an issue at the POE when I fill in her address in my landing card?

Thanks in advance.

Health / Re: Mayowa Ahmed: LUTH Releases Press Statement On #savemayowa by valeroso: 9:45pm On Jul 29, 2016
magicminister:
i really do not understand the press release by LUTH.

1- They said Mayowa is an old patient of theirs already on treatment for another ailment??

what i understood from this is that she was misdiagnosed and was treated for different ailment instead of cancer for a very long time.
The family discovered it was stage 4 cancer after getting diagnosis from another hospital.

2- This 31year-old lady came into the Private Wing of LUTH on Monday, 25th July, 2016 with a history and clinical features of an intra-abdominal mass. The family and the patient brought along some results of laboratory investigations ordered and done from outside LUTH.

They only knew she had cancer or "mass " after she was diagnosed by another hospital.

Why in the holy hell would the family continue treatment with luth if they weren't able to diagnose the right disease in the first instance?
Now they are saying they wanted to conduct another batch of test?? I believe this process will take another couple of months and its obvious every second is crucial for mayowa.

3- the family however requested to fly Miss Ahmed outside the country barely 24 hours after her admission in LUTH,
So, basically they have been treating her for a mis-dagnosed ailment for a long time and only admitted her after they came with test results from other hospitals.

Nigerian public hospitals are a disgrace.

Come on guys, let's be real here. Most of us will go above and beyond for the people we love. I wouldn't wait for any quack doctor in a public hospital to give me diagnosis before making my own moves.

I don't see any scam here.
Besides, why should a hospital disclose patient's case to the whole world?
Where is the doctor-patient confidentiality?
Bunch of quacks!!

B.S. Your write up only shows you don't understand anything about health care. Mayowa is a sickle cell patient and may have been visiting for the management of her crisis.
She may not have visited LUTH when the ailment started. She may have patronized private hospitals. She probably came back to LUTH when she realized she wasn't getting any better.

About misdiagnosis, even a third year medical student will never misdiagnose cancer. Stop misleading the public and keep your ignorance to yourself.

Hi Justwise, Tunderule2016

Someone told me document from my sponsor have a validity of 10 days. Meaning I can only use the letter of sponsorship and bank statement within 10 days of issue. How true is this? I can understand the reason for the bank statement but I don't see why a letter of sponsorship should have such short validity.

Thanks in advance.

Help please. Thanks.

Help me please. Will the use of a free hotel booking which doesn't even ask for card details be detrimental to my application?

Hello.

Is there any advantage of making use of an hotel booking over hostel booking? I'm speaking with respect to outcome of visa issuance.

Is it necessary I add my sponsor's(dad's) pay slip since he has provided a letter and his bank statement and data page of his passport?

Thanks.

I'm having trouble having my dean address my letter of introduction. I'm submitting in Ikeja but the only addresses I've seen so far are those of Victoria Island and Abuja.

Please does anyone know what address I'm supposed to address my letter of introduction to since I'm submitting in Ikeja.

Thanks

I believe justwise has answered u correctly with your questions.... just to add a little .. your dad can add both salary account and savings account... so just makes sure he writes a sponsor letter..which must include that he has attached both account to support you.

Good luck...

1. Since your daddy will be sponsoring you the issue of income is not applicable to you because you don't earn any money.

2. It has to be original bank statement

3. Salary account is more acceptable as a salary earner because it shows source of income and how much one earns.

Thanks Justwise

Hello Tunderule2016 and Frontpagelawyer. I'm really sorry to bother you guys again but I need help. A quick recap. I'm a student being sponsored by my parents for a holiday. There's a box on the form asking my yearly income. I'm a student and I do not work. Should I give the amount I get as pocket money annually or what?

Secondly, my dad will be scanning me his bank statement as we live in different states us to school and work. Will the scanned bank statement suffice?

Lastly, must it be a salary account? Can't it just be some random savings account?

Thanks guys.

You do not need to submit your personal account... but if you think u feel comfortable then it is fine... But make sure you let them know about your past records about your dad sponsoring you and you having a good travel record by not frustrating the immigration rules....

Remember u need to show strong ties in nigeria.... adding your dad passport page will not be a bad idea.....

I'm grateful :-)

Yes to be on the safer side provide all the account and in the application form with a brief sentence state that your dad makes transfer regularly from in salary account to the other account. I will also feel your dad should include that in is sponsor letter that he is taking full responsibility of your trip and due to personal reasons he transfer funds from is salary account to other account.

Good luck bruv

Thanks so much bro. I am a student. You don't think there's a need to submit my personal statement of account too, right?
