skymath: See the kinds of leaders we have in this country. Leaving pressing issues focusing on a more trivial matters. Congratulations to Arsenal. I'm really happy for them. But the reality here is all these politicians in Nigeria have proven to be the most out-of-touch and insensitive bunch of folks. Nigerians are too docile. I expect everyone of us to have hit the streets protesting by now against myriads of challenges we're facing in this country. But we're afraid of the government and police brutality abi... Now the bandits are knocking on everybody's door. If you don't face your fears, it will keep on terrorizing you. I don't have anything against them celebrating the moment. But things are getting out of hand as a nation to focus on trivialities. Once again, a big big congratulations to all the Arsenal fans🎊 When are leading the protest sir? |

If you cannot stand these people within same party how do you intend to win the main presidential election? No one do the same thing everytime and get different result. He will come distant 3rd again. Primaries are fraught with irregularities, moreover, the Electoral Act permitted Consensus candidacy.. But why are Agbados crying all over this thread? |

Politics › Ndc: Obi/ Kwankwaso Have SE, Kano And SS Locked Down by Validated(op): 10:45am On May 19 |
Baring any unforeseen circumstances, NDC is sure to secure the following: SE - All 5 states at 95% SS - All 6 states at 85% Kano - 96% Lagos: With 5m Igbos, 65% Abuja: 67% North Central; Plateau, Benue, Nasarawa at 45% NE: Atiku can do what he wants there NW: Atiku can take, but NDC will get 26% in Kaduna and Sokoto SW: Let Tinubu hold his own region, but Oyo will be Makinde's to lose.
My advice to the opposition is to start planning to checkmate INEC, checkmate vote buying and resukts falsification. |

On a lighter note, I hear Abejide has been consigned to political oblivion at the APC primary. |

Politics › Re: Makinde Declares For President, Oyo Students Kidnapped ... Coincidence? by Validated(op): 12:29pm On May 18 |
cyberbro: Let's assume it's true that there's a connection between his declaration and the kidnap, but who does it reflect poorly on?
Everyone with basic education knows that the governors have no power or control over the police, military or even civil defence. We don't have state policing yet and only the president has authority over the security architecture in the entire country, so the blame still falls on the president, who is an APC founding member, so I don't think it makes any sense.
Besides, there is something that most of us have been sleeping on- Northern Terrorists have moved down South and the South-West is currently feeling it. It has happened in Kwara, Kogi, Ondo (Owo Church massacre) and now Oyo. Only people who don't reason deeply would fail to see that this is a general problem of insurgency and it's bigger than politics. This is a national emergency.
Politicians have failed Nigerians, both APC, PDP, all of them. Military men and Police are dying like chickens, terrorists rebranded as bandits, imagine 17 police officers dying in a military facility. It is well with Nigeria. The governor will be made to "cough" out the N30b the FG gave him for bomb victims. That way, his campaign fund will be deflated. Try and connect the dots in this assumption or logic. |

Politics › Re: Multiple Southern Contenders Could Hand Strategic Advantage To Atiku by Validated: 11:15am On May 18 |
Tinubu is a goner, the North will take over and jagaban will eventually be OTP. If Jonathan gets the nod, based on court position, Obi might step down for him, thereby leaving Tinubu with nothing in the South, except Ogun and Ekiti states. As for Lagos, the resukts will be worse for Tinubu as ADC, NDC and PDP will fight for the state. Intimidation will not work this time as result transmission is now legal. If you stop the process, all parties lose as no results will be declared, and the biggest losers will be Tinubu and Obi. As for Rivers, if Fubara is not on APC ballot, he will support Jonathan's PDP. It is as simple as that. Wike cannot do anything as ordinary minister, but the state government wield higher power on election day. Wike's influence ends at the primaries, if you doubt, ask Rotimi Anaechi. |

If it was coincidence, it is okay, but the timing seems more than ordinary and, with APC, nothing like coincidence.
My thought are simple. How can we make Oyo ungovernable, create a room to declare state of emergency, etc?
We have heard about attempted impeachment that failed, could the insecurity in Oyo be a lever for political change?

Politics › Re: On What Basis Did Obi Justify Sacking Non Indegenes From The State Civil Service by Validated: 11:21am On May 17 |
FSBoperator: If there ever was a more blatant and crude display of executive xenophobia , Peter Obi takes the cake for arbitrarily sacking all non indegenes (including fellow Ibos from neighbouring SE states) from the Anambra State civil service and directed same be done for those in all local govt secretariat.
Most of those affected were from Enugu as Enugu and Anambra were once under one state until it was split .
The then Abia state governor retaliated and sacked indegenes from Anambra in the Abia state civil service
We are made to believe that the sacking was part of Obi's cost saving measures despite Anambra paying far below the national minimum wage which Obi refused to implement.
Can anyone explain beyond cost cutting measures why Obi will target non indegenes for sack ? Does this not contravene anti discriminatory laws set in place to deny employment based on tribe, gender , religion , etc? Also most of those sacked had spent years in the Anambra state civil service after getting employed by old Anambra state that included both present Anambra and Enugu. Hypocrite, why are you running amock that NDC are fielding non-indigenes in Lagos? |
