I was chatting with someone who just finished their service year, and they confirmed a crazy strategy: Corpers intentionally seeking rejection from their first PPA to force a better placement or relocation.
Apparently, if you get rejected by your official PPA (a formal rejection letter is key), you get another shot at getting a better PPA during your Local Government registration, or it makes your request for state/inter-state relocation much stronger.
The reasons for rejection are often hilarious or ridiculous—from "we don't need your discipline" to "staff quota full." But now, some people are literally going to the HR office and begging the manager to reject them so they can escape a terrible posting!
Have you guys heard of this strategy, or did you participate in it?

No news here, this has been happening since the 90s. I served in Bauchi. At that time, many Corp members posted to TorovLGA secretariat got rejections on some flimsy excuses, like being asmathic (Toro LGA has about the same climate as Jos).

To effectively guard all the forests in Nigeria, the FG need to deploy not less than 100,000 forest guards across the nation. Each state should have at least 3000 Forest guards.
Secondly, all members of the National Security and Civil Defence Corps need to be retained and converted to form part of the Forest Guards Corp. Thirdly, their command should be regionalized for effective monitoring, unlike what obtains with the NYSC, where some Corp members will be in the US and Corp officials receiving their stipends.
As for funding, the FG should commence direct 20% deduction from each state's government security votes and 5% from LGA to fund this. Yearly, each governor budget whopping billions of Naira as security votes. These monies are stolen and shared amongst cronies.

This is my position. Once our forests are secured, farmers and genuine herders can go about their legitimate businesses.
Government could then expand the tax net to cover these farmers and herdsmen in form of token as security levies.
