If Segun Showunmi said on TV that Obi was lobbying to be Atiku’s VP in 2022 and Atiku told Obi that he would not be his VP and as a result Obi left PDP, then I believe. This was before the primaries even started.
Segun showunmi knows everything about what transpired. For him to say so on Tv, I believe him.
Google Segun Showunmi’s interviews of recent on YouTube , (within the last 3 weeks) in one of them you will find where he said so.
Peter Obi left PDP for the following reasons:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXgWZWBcWz0
1. Wike was in Anambra and boldly told the delegate that Obi cannot win in any primaries in PDP
2. Atiku was looking for a vp with deep pocket, so the options were Okowa or Wike. Obi was a distant 3rd.
3. PDP threw the primaries open as against their mutual understanding of North/South divide.

Politics › Peter Obi's Only Route To Presidency by Validated(op): 1:11pm On Jul 25, 2025
When Tinubu and Buhari could not form an alliance in 2011 because Tinubu was interested in presidency as well as Buhari, the PDP defeated both CPC and ACN. That taught them a lesson that one had to step-down for the other.

Fast-forward to 2014, they formed APC with Tinubu remaining patient while supporting Buhari. Tinubu's patience did not mean he was not interested in becoming president. He had to wait and in his place, supported an neophyte in the person of Osinbajo. The rest is now history.

Following from above, Peter Obi should support Atiku to do one term as President. With that arrangement APC will be defeated by 12.00 non.
Then in 2031, he can run as president for 8 years.
He can even beat his chest to say "Emolikan" in Igbo. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Obi waiting till 2031, if not Obi has no other route to presidency.

If Obi runs alone in LP or other party, APC will win again. Then come 2031, power will go back to the North. That means waiting till 2039, who knows who will be alive by then and infact Obi woukd have been 79 or 80 self, and too old to have a say.

My opinion ... nobody pays me to express it. However it is the bitter ruth that may be too bitter a pill for some people to swallow.

Only inferiority complex will make someone believe that anyone against Tinubu is Igbo. By the way, I hope Amaechi is now Igbo and ElRufai is also Igbo.

Back to the topic, why do you think the master strategist has suddenly started courting the North? It will backfire big time. If Igbos and Ijaws can repay SW what they hatched in 2014, so be it.

How exactly will any of these people do better than Tinubu? Either most of Obidients are stupid or just plain dumb. We have a constitutional democracy and FG cannot even decide what a state gets, it's a law and must be shared. Tinubu may be a clown but he has pumped in so much more resources to states and LGAs and even lawmakers are getting up to 4b on projects each across NASS yet all of them don't have anything to show for it. Who told you Obi or anyone else will force a state on how to spend their money?

Meanwhile, all the other candidates against Tinubu are people will shallow mindset, all of them are cowards who have one time or the other reversed their policies because mob out cry. If anything, subsidies removals and floating alone is bold and takes courage. Some are even so foolish they are against coastal road. Of all those shouting none of them ever created sustainable policies as governors. But Tinubu at least did Lawma psp and Lamata brt that have been self sustaining tille date.. When we talk Obi will want to claim Obiano and Soludo's sustenance of education in Anambra. The Obi who bought vehicles for public schools from innoson where there are no spare parts available. Imagine very stupid and lack of foresight.

I even enjoy how wailers are crying because I will now vote and canvass vote for that Tinubu sef
Your comments are everywhere and nowhere. Please, next time, be concise and coherent.
On Tinubu, you mentioned PSP, LAMATA, BRT. Please, I do not know your age or place of residence. I resided in Lagos from 2000 to 2014. None, I repeat, none of those agencies were created by Tinubu. None! Tinubu left Lagos in debt, all the roads were not motorbike. Armed robbers operated daily on Akpomgbo, Third Mainland, 7 Up junction. What Tinubu created was AREA BOYS in Oshodi, Ikeja under bridge, Badagry express way after Festac, etc. Secondly, Tinubu created Alpha-Beta company. So stop telling lies. Fashola was architect of all those agencies you mentioned. When he became governor we use to call him flower planter, until he grew bold and created BRT, then started road demarcation to reduce traffic jams.
Lastly, it is hypocrisy to say that Fashola success was because he was Tinubu's protégé and not recognized that Obi also brought Obiano.

Politics › Message To The North: Beware Of Fake Carrots by Validated(op): 11:38am On Jul 24, 2025
Before the formation of ADC and its unveiling Tinubu was everywhere boasting about One-Party state. He even went about capturing all Southern States and boldly sidelined the North in appointments. As far as 2027 was concerned he was coasting home to victory. The PDP was in his left pocket, LP was on his right pocket, while INEC was being teleguided on new party registration.

Up until early June all appointments were centered on one region. You hear names like Olaniyi, Ademola, Abimbola, etc. being appointed to political positions and offices.

Then boom came ADC. Since the birthing of ADC, neither Tinubu nor his supporters have rested. They have been running from pillar to post. The appointment now shifts from South-Westerners to Northerners. First was IBB son, followed by another Northerners, etc. However, these appointments are to some moribund and near comatose establishments. For example Bank of Agric is a shadow of itself and many others. If Tinubu meant well for the North, why not sacrifice any of the following positions to the North?
- NNPC chairman
- NIMASA
- CBN Governor
- FIRS chairman
- etc.

Secondly and more importantly, dear Northerners. If Tinubu could be this parochial in his first term, when he knows he would come to ask for your 12 million votes in 2027, just imagine what he would do when he does not need you after 2027. JUST IMAGINE IT. Do not be fooled a second time with fake appointments.

Politics › Re: How Goodluck Jonathan Destroyed The Southern Unity. by Validated: 5:10am On Jul 24, 2025
Who now want Southern unity? There is nothing like Southern unity. Of the 21 years the South has held power, SW held it for 15 years. Jonathan and accidental president was the only other South Southern to have been President. The SE has not been into Aso Rock.

To your point of Jonathan not appointing SouthWest into juicy position. Can you ask Tinubu how much he was paid to sell SW votes?

We have past that stage. Where we are now is, either Tinubu steps down and support an Igboman, or he will face the biggest defeat in history. Both South South and South East are ready to support Atiku to boot Tinubu out of Aso Rock.

Politics › Re: Southern Realignment 2027 - Tinubu/obi by Validated:
Op here is my thought

How about we balance the power game in the South first for a truly Southern Unity. OBJ, a Yoruba was Head of State from 1976 - 1979, and also President from 1999 - 2007. That is 11 years. Add Tinubu's 4 years, that would 15 years that SW have ruled. I do not believe that other Southerners have called Yoruba "Born to rule" or may be they are yet to get there.

So my suggestion is that Tinubu should jettison his second term and support Obi, an Igboman. That way, the seemingly acrimony between Yoruba and Igbos would cease. This is because, out of the 21 years the South have held power, Yorubas have been President for 15 years, Ijaws accidentally 6 years. However, Igbos have not been there for a day. grin grin

Op, I know you won't like this though, because it touches the root of selfish regional imbalance.
If Tinubu was not selfish, he would have allowed Igbos one from the South to contest 2023. Also, the SW would have prevailed on him to support an Igboman.
.

Let me know your thoughts.

Aside the obvious external sabotage of the labour party by proxies of the APC, Obi has proven to be a very weak man. His silence is not golden and it's leading to the collapse of sand castle. Why not come out categorically and disown Datti or issue a disclaimer? Meanwhile, his Obidients are running wild on social media insulting other coalition members while the likes of Amaechi are busy mobilising their home base. They will tell you Obidients don't need much mobilisation but Peter Obi cannot set foot in Benue and Edo today and the list keeps growing.
MANDIPUTIN, insert a source link to your post.
Peter Obi has very good intentions, however in Nigeria, you got to be brutal to get power.
I am beginning to falk back on my support of Peter Obi. He appears to be if the same trait as Jonathan who can be muzzled out of office by a bunch of threats. I request Obi to mobilize Obidients for a Rally In Benin on October 1, 2025. Governor Okpebholo will run into hiding. You cannot be president without struggling for it.
As for Datti, he has zero to nothing to offer Obi.
If Tinubu can discard Shettima, why can't Obi discard Datti and with with a strong Northerner for 2027?
