The argument about fuel subsidy have raged from 1990s. Every government come up at one point or another suggesting that Nigeria is subsidizing petrol. From the time of IBB , then Abacha, at one time or another, the pump price adjustments were hinged on correcting the disparity between landing cost snd the love-vendor price. Some politicians like Adam's Oshomole became popular for challenging subsidy removal. In 2012, Tinubu and many psuedo-activists or what is now term castiivists gathered at Ojota to protest GEJ's attempt at subsidy removal. Fast forward to May 29, 2023, the same Tinubu on his inauguration declared "Subsidy is gone". That thoughtless statement drove the already sinking economy into deeper abyss. As if not enough, Tinubu, in his desperation to show that he also can implement what the opponents campaigned with, ordered the floating of the Naira. The double prong effect resulted in massive destruction of the economy. Many Nigerians became extremely poor. The middle class started japaing and now the Nigerian economy is in total disarray. Tinubu's economic team are at best confused and overwhelmed. Perceiving imminent defeat in 2027, Tinubu commenced state capture and destruction of opposition parties. He even boasted that if a one party state is the solution, so be it. He said that everyone is free to leave a sinking ship, a direct reference to the defections happening in PDP. Unknowingly or will I say oblivious of the resilience of man, Tinubu failed to realize that a willing and determined people can fight back. The birthing of ADC has effectively turned the tide against the Jagaban. Today, all opposition leaders, who hitherto were in different political parties hijacked by Tinubu and his proxies found a home in ADC. The momentum that ADC has generated in the last 2 weeks are clear pointer to Tinubu that his strategies may have failed. Had he left the opposition in their respective parties, they would have still cannibalize their votes, but today, ADC has galvanized them. Tinubu is now cornered. So, what next for Tinubu than to look to the masses he impoverished in the last 26 months? He has now reverted to bailing the Naira, after it has lost the about 300% in value. Inflation still soaring and purchasing power of the Naira becoming useless. The idea of using scarce foreign reserves to shore up the Naira was a critical branding payoff by the Tinubu government in the last two years. His supporters have always paraded phantom massive savings being made for floating the Naira. Today, they are back to eating their rotten vomits. They are online now defending how Japan and China defend their currencies. What an incoherent lot. In the last 48 hours, ADC has hinted that it would reduce pump price immediately on ascension of power on May 29, 2027. With this information and the new NBS inflation jargons, I can boldly state that Tinubu and his dieing APC will soon commence massive subsidies payments. Not that they have not been paying in the past, but with the statement last week to IMF to "Let us breath", it points towards abandoning all the "gains" they claained their uselessly implemented reforms have made. Watch out as this pans out. However, with the damages already done, Tinubu may be out beating a dead horse. Who needs a dead horse anyway. Tinubu should start packing his load from Aso Rock as a new occupant will be sworn-in on May 29, 2027 |
They should take Akpabio to court for comtempt and disobedience to court orders. For challenging the constitution, Akpabio should be convicted of criminal disobedience and forced to resign from the Senate. Hunter can become the hunted. |
Iran need to be fully disarmed. They should only be allowed to have police. |
SoftSport:Dreaming is allowed, but oftentimes when one dreams and turn such things in the realms of "self delusion" to expected results, dreams can be disastrous. Yours is in that realms. |
New Nigeria is possible .... .... |
Two can play the game. Since PDP approves of Wike's hobnobbing with APC, other PDP chieftains can do the same. Until Damagun and co-travelers develop the balls to expel Wike and G5, PDP will remain a political leprous party. Same goes for LP by the way! |
The turn out is a referendum on APC in Lagos. That is how many they are less than 10% of Lagos voters. |
Text Jokes to APC and win 50000. A man was president for 8 years without a single project initiated and commissioned by him. The only one they hurriedly put together was AirScam Nigeria |
Make me self wish Buhari farewell. Afterall, I can boastful defeat FFK and Reno in a free and fair contest. ![]() |
mrvitalis:No, nothing like ADC. Those wishing for a divided opposition will wait TIRE |
TonyeBarcanista:How is that your concern when PDP is now turning to IDP? |
WizardOfNG:Noise makers, when you see heavy crowd your heart will fail you. 2027 is Nigerians versus Tinubu and his band of thieves. |
The two LEFT BEHIND politicians can now form their own coalition and name it LPDP and present Wike as their candidate. |
WesleyPepper:Oga, go and research. In Kaduna, non indegenes voted and were voted for under ElRufai. |
Just like football, everyone is a coach. People should leave coalition alone and let them chose their presidential candidate. If they chose the wrong candidate, they will remain in political IDP forever. |
Which country are you referring to? So non-indegenes should not be paying taxes and levies in Lagos? What type of reasoning is this please? |
Let me go and open account with Providus abeg. I hope they are okay with online account opening. |
helinues:Bro. start thinking of what to do after Tinubu is defeated. You may go and learn work from Reno as a content creator. |
ChiefOloye:Anything to give Tinubu's supporters sleepless night is okay. Add that to hunger and inflation will make most of you ... complete it in your mind, as I am avoiding being banned ![]() |
The number of votes cast in LGA elections in Lagos may be a pointer to the strength of APC in Lagos. How many people voted in the Local Govt Elections? In an election where Igbos and other non-APC supporters were disenfranchised and APC had a field day to thumbprint, they could not thumbprint up to a million ballots. Out of about 6 million registered voters only a few hundreds voted in the LG selection? They even deliberately removed Labour Party logo in some LGAs. Yet, they could not thumbprint up to a million ballots. However during the 2023 general elections, Obi trounced Tinubu by 60% to 40%. If not for rigging and INEC abracadabra with switching off server, Tinubu would not have gotten 25%. Fast forward to 2027, with inflation at 35%, food insecurity everywhere, homelessness everywhere, insecurity everywhere and petrol prices rising at 500% Tinubu will be defeated by 12.00 noon. |
helinues:See this one referring to irrelevant selection. How many people voted in the Local Govt Elections? Go and verify and know that is the strength of APC in Lagos. Out of about 6 million registered voters only a few hundreds voted in the LG selection? They even deliberately removed Labour Party logos in some LGAs. Yet, they could not thumbprint up to a million ballots. However during general election Obi trounced Tinubu by 60% to 40%. Nwanyiogwashi:Omo Agege is not an option, except ADC wants to take Delta State. Okowa abd Sherrif should be packing their loads out of Delta government house. |
TonyeBarcanista:Barca, PDP is dead, go and read "Who Moved My Cheese " and learn to move on. |
Pat Utomi should get back home to take ADC ticket and win Delta State. We are tired of PDP useless faces who have now killed their political relevance by joining APC, The ADC needs a smart leader in Pat Utomi. We do not care about zoning this time around, we need progressive leadership in Delta State. |
Watianoengineer:You are correct, and true Christians are not bothered about it. Do you know why, because at rapture all true Christians will be with Jesus. Then Islam can take the world until Christ comes back for the millenia reign. At which time the anti-christ and his followers will be judged. |
Akpabio cannot win his Local Government in 2027. He will be defeated and relegated by June 2027. |
LASIEC has no business about who Labour Party fields in an election. Parties representatives are internal affairs. The LASIEC chairman deserves jail term for this infraction. |
kisscivic:The PDP was controlling 32 states with structures that can win elections. Buhari did not win 2011 elections, he only got voted for in the North. Check your facts again. Let me tell you the honest truth, if Obi goes ahead, he will win, but just as in 2023, the North will leave matter for "South" to sort themselves out, afterall come 2031, power will move up North. It will be Igbos versus Yoruba as usual. Few appointments here abd there, the North will look the other way. As for who I support, it doesn't matter because if I consider that, I will chose Sentiments than Reasonableness. Reasonableness the line. |
Sentiments aside, this op is spot on. There is a time to be realistic and reasonable. If we chose Sentiments over Reasonableness, we will be here in 2027 arguing who won, while Tinubu is being sworn in ... AND NOTHING WILL HAPPEN. We can only threaten and perhaps protest for one week, MAX and the police and army will kill a few citizens and everyone will move on. For Peter Obi, it would perhaps be the end of his presidential ambition as power will ⁸move up North for another 8 years after Tinubu's second term. With that, Obidients will have to wait until 2039, by which time Obi will be 76 or so. In 12 years, there would have been political realignment that would throw up new political structures. Who knew in 2014 that Obidients would be in existence, talk more of being this big. That said, let's look to 2027. The APC knows it will lose 2027 elections. They are only looking at one option, RIGGING. As we speak, the control 80% of Southern governors. Soon Adeleke will defect, leaving only Makinde and perhaps Diri that are not APC. So tell me how Peter Obi alone can checkmate these rigging machines? Truth is that in free and credible elections, Peter Obi will win by a whooping 75%, but there is what is called voters suppression and Federal might. Peter Obi CANNOT fight these evil alone. Truth is bitter, but it has to be told. As of today, only ATIKU ABUBAKAR can force Tinubu to concede defeat. You are free to say whatever you want. I have nothing against Peter Obi, but he cannot be declared winner against Tinubu in 2027, but INEC will never try any shit against a Northerner, like Atiku. They cannot execute their rigging plan against a Northerner like they would an Igboman. This is a fact, and every astute politician knows that Tinubu is not Jonathan, who capitulated easily. Tinubu would fear the North more than the East. Politics is not about what we wish, but what is plausible. Peter Obi's best option is to support Atiku, ensure Obidients are represented in the government. Then wait for Atiku to complete his tenor. I am not delusional who thinks Atiku would abdicate after 4 years. If he does, good, if not Obi should wait out the 8 years, which to me is shorter than 12 years. Take a cue from Tinubu. He joined Buhari to form APC. Tinubu could have asked to be president and contested against Buhari, afterall Tinubu's ACN was controlling Lagos, Osun, Ondo and Edo states at the time. While Buhari had no governor under his CPC. However, for some Reasonableness, he waited and supported Buhari. Then when Buharwas done, he declared "EMILOKAN ". Peter Obi should another same approach. Support Atiku and then wait for his TURN. Igbos need to understand that politics in Nigeria is not who has block votes, but who has strategic alliances. |
Wait, soon you will see a picture with some Ukrainian "investor" coming. APC is a big joke. |
