ololufemi:I am not really against the availability of alcohol in our society considering the many good purposes it serves humanity just that the proliferation and abuse as regards production, distribution and consumption needs to be checked. For instance, since the advent of the smaller packages enhanced by the pet bottles and sachets revolution, the number of lives being destroyed in Nigeria by ethanol has multiplied by over 100 times. It was easy for NAFDAC to give approval viewing the development as an innovation but after it became obvious that it was causing more harm than good to our society and they tried to retrace their steps last year did you notice the media gang-up against NAFDAC that followed thereby making it impossible for them to remove those smaller packages out of circulation up till now. Also, there should be stringent consequences when abused. If you drink and drive in the western world you know you will collect but in Nigeria even if you cause accident that ends up wasting other lives unnecessarily you may go scot free. |
megawealth01:Yes, if out of over 20 products only Maltina, Amstel Malt and Fayrouz are non alcoholic that's 85% alcoholic products focus and 85% result in school is 'A' score. Hope my philosophy general course lecturer taught me logic well? ![]() |
HesInMe:It pays to be an ethical investor. |
HesInMe:No sir, simply type on any search engine you use 'list of countries that limit free speech' and the result will tell you where I got my conclusion from. |
HesInMe:In other words, are you saying that whoever buys Nigeria Breweries shares is encouraging people to drink to cancer? |
megawealth01:You shouldn't be surprised considering where it is coming from. It is obvious that the Islamic world abhor free speech. But thank God Nigeria is a secular society so whoever wants to limit free speech must secede with their own section of the country first before implementing such. |
megawealth01:When two elephants fight it is majorly the turf that bears the brunt. Our discussion now should be how we can be insulated from all these. Just imagine the kind of red that visited NSE in just one day that Trump sneezed from far away America. |
Streetinvestor2:So you are that prophet I have been looking for? Pls prophesy again so that the green will continue to save some people from high BP. |
Someone here predicted here yesterday that the market will turn green today despite Agba's pessimistic sarcasm. Please who was that? Are you a prophet? |
Streetinvestor2:The most funny aspect of the whole issue is that many of them gathered all forms of lies to plead asylum in foreign land and are living from pay-cheque to pay-cheque but will be quick to denigrate persons earning their living in Nigeria without provocation as if money is freely flowing on the streets of Western countries. Besides the infrastructure and availability of job opportunities there, 98%of them are working for number of hours normal human beings shouldn't work just to pay bills and as such I don't envy them. |
USA2019:God is a 'spirit' and as such can not be worshiped with 'rationality'. If christians don't contribute their monies how will their churches be built and maintained? I am very certain that one person or more among you, your father or mother was born in one Saint this or that hospital, or attended one Saint this or that Primary or Secondary school, have you for once asked yourself how that hospital or school could have been built if the white people that contributed their monies for missionary purposes then were very 'rational' thinkers like you? |
yMcy56:Thanks for always being there. I also think Afripud is over-bought currently considering the size of the business and the current share price which is making me believe that Street's assertion might be the way it is headed. I was thinking I can do a JIJO to collect the bonus and cash out but I might get trapped so let me quietly go for my option B instead. |
yMcy56:Mcy pls do you see the price of Afripud possibly dropping by up to 50% after the bonus? Because definitely I know there will be dumping but is there a way the chart can guide us on the possible resistance level during the dumping? |
Transcorp plc is like a holding company. Those once you named are owned wholly or partly by Transcorp plc as subsidiaries. See a list of companies that are subsidiaries of Transcorp plc and the percentage ownership by Transcorp.[/quote Straight to point! Thanks |
Please I want to understand something about this 3 Transcorp PLC's is see on the exchange. If Transco Hotel is the Transcorp hotel I know and Transpower is the Ughelli power and of recent Afam power that I know too, now my question is what is now the business of Transcorp PLC? |
jonnysessy:The dividend should be 0.94k per share right? |
yMcy56:Thanks for the information. This is like the exception to the rule I wanted to understand. Please is the current price a good buy zone? |
faoogoke:But once bad result appears sell-off follows how come it is not happening with ELLAHLAKES. Of course I don't make the rules but that has been the rule, so if you know the exceptions to the rule kindly teach me. |
I don't know if I am the only one observing that some stocks doesn't observe the rules of the market both technical and fundamental? Despite the bad financials and the badmouthing by many investors here ELLAHLAKES has weathered the storm and maintained it's stand at #3, pls the gurus what may have caused this? I was waiting for the expected bad result to show so that it will get to PURITIST'S projection #1.7 entry point for me to enter but the thing stand gidigba like Olumo rock. Abeg PURITIST should I keep waiting? |
essentialone:Abeg do they produce beer? I only know of Champions Malt Incase if we confirm that it is 0.60k for real because I only want to be an ethical investor. |
emmanuelewumi:Not at all, I was searching for a legit place to invest, checked online and found Risevest @25% interest but when I visited their office at Yaba I learnt they are not SEC approved so i couldn't proceed and kept searching then last month I found ADVANS chatted with them online and invited them to my office today and after a fruitful discussion I decided to do further due diligence with other investors here that's why I posted it. I haven't even invested yet, because I am still considering wether it is possible for am MFB to scam anybody and all other possible disadvantages. However, they have the highest interest rate I have seen so far within the group of regular financial institutions. |
Agbalowomeri:Research about them, they are French owned with about 30 branches in Nigeria. Do your due diligence and tell me your findings so that we do information sharing. |
Youngzedd:You mean MFB's can't be trusted? I haven't invested in an MFB before o! Who has pls? But all are CBN approved and NDIC insured. |
Agbalowomeri:For real o! Their sales staff just left my office not quite long ADVANS LAFAYETTE MICRO FINANCE BANK, though I have been discussing with them for a while now. But 24% is from a particular big amount of which I know you can afford it. |
PZ God bless you ymcy for recommending this stock and also encouraging me not to sell at loss when it had a sharp dip. It has broken the #36 you told me it might reach. Abeg any clue as to the new support? |
Please a Microfinance Bank is offering me 24% interest per annum for a fixed deposit, does anyone know any market fund that offers better than that? Secondly, the dollar denominated investment I asked for last time highest interest rate I have seen is 3%, can anyone suggest any better offer? |
GeeKudi:Oando should build a refinery from scratch, since investors are now having a positive view about the company they should raise money from local and foreign investors. Did you hear how many trillion that DMO returned as oversubscription for the last treasury bills auction? Why should that size of money be chasing T-BILLS instead of getting invested into our productive sectors to grow real GDP instead of this growth by GDP rebasing shit. If Tinubu sells part of any of Nigerian refineries to his Nephew Nigerians won't take it. However, our existing refineries should be unbundled and privatized at 40/50 ratio between NNPC and foreign investors. We can only experience true freedom from both refined products importation and price stability when we have foreign investors competing Alhaji and other local investors in that sector. |
PuristForest:You mean down to #39 for real? |
Raider76:My only interest here is the 5,500 jobs a third world country will export to a second world country despite having a better comparative advantage in the sector in question. It is only when Nigerians ( both leaders and the led) start reasoning like that in all our decisions that we can have a country but for now oke n'ohia ngwere n'uzo. |
yMcy56:Na sarcasm level the guy dey o! |
Yes o. I count myself lucky though, I thank God. What I made in the capital market from Tinubu perceived 2 worst policies not that much but enough for my entire life if well managed . U have asked me before about my sector n I swear as a poultry farmer, I can't complain about the present administration. I thank God n I count myself lucky though definitely the economy is not smiling This reasoning is selfish, you benefitted but more Nigerians lost. The actual fact here is that so many subsistent poultry farmers had to shut down their farms because they could no longer afford the continuously rising cost of feeding and because Nigerian agric sector is more subsistent inclined, it caused a drastic reduction in the supply of chicken in the market which caused a spike in the prices. When we analyse Tpain policies or any other government, a wholistic approach is better because it takes everybody into consideration. |
Emir01:Fasting ke? I thought stock is Haram? Pls teach me I am only asking? |
