Crime › Re: Justice Chioma Nwosu-Iheme: Uniformed Policemen Kidnapped Me, Killed My Orderly by VanEFCC: 11:24am On Nov 22, 2019 |
fergie001: A group of women had come visiting. The women, most of them, Choristers came from the Cathedral Of The Transfiguration Of The Lord, (CATOL), Anglican Communion, Owerri.
They came to rejoice with one of their own, Hon. Justice Chioma Nwosu-Iheme, PhD, who had just come back from the Lion’s den. In her words she came out from the land of the dead.
So, the women came to celebrate with her and her family, to praise God for His mercies and protection.
Nwosu-Iheme, is CATOL’s parishioner.
Justice Chioma Nwosu-Iheme was abducted inside Benin City, around 11.30am, on October 30, not along the Benin- Agbor road as was reported in the media.
For four days, her abductors made no contact with her family or anybody. On the 5th day, they did, and named their price.
And negotiations began
Days ran into two weeks. The negotiation went back on forth. An agreement was reached. On the 13th day, they called for the ransom money to be delivered. They promised to release her that night, somewhere, in Benin. It didn’t happen. And they made no other contact.
But on the 14th day, late evening, Her Lordship’s voice was the sweetest heard by her family in decades of her being wife and mom.
She called from the Protea Hotel, Benin City, to say she has been released; that she was free, and safe.
The CATOL women who came visiting just wanted to see her. To thank God. To pray with, and for her. And to hear her voice, even one word, one sentence.
They got more than they bargained for. They heard the story of her ordeal, why, and how she was abducted.
At some point, a number of the women became emotional. And so did Nwosu-Iheme, especially, when she spoke about her Police Orderly of 12 years, an Inspector. Her voice cracked. Tears rolled down her cheeks. “He was my friend, my kid brother, my Chief Security Officer. He was different. An honest police officer. He lived with me for 12 years.
For those 12 years, he protected me with his skin. And Joshua Selman finally, he gave his life for me. As long as I live , as long as my family members live, his family will never suffer. His six children will go to any school of their choice, to any level. That’s a promise we, as a family, have made to God.”
Abduction, Not Pre-planned. She Ran Into Her Abductors
Justice Nwosu-Iheme’s abduction shocked Nigerians and the International community. Nigeria’s first female Judge to have a PhD, reputed for her fearlessness and no-nonsense stand on issues, she had handled many sensitive cases, including the notorious ‘Otokoto case’. At a very young age, she fearlessly, took on the case which had been rejected by a couple of other Judges. The fear when she was abducted was: Who dunnit?
Of the Appeal Court Division, Benin, she was presiding over appeal cases emanating from the 2019 General election at the time of her abduction. So, was she kidnapped because of the cases the Court was handling and/or had handled – Political or otherwise?
But she rubbished such fears and thoughts. The Appeal Court, unlike the High Court, is not a-one man show. Usually, three Judges sit on an Appeal.
Her abduction was not pre-planned, she emphasized. She was at the right place at the wrong time.
Done with her duties in Benin, the Judge was on her way to Owerri when the unfortunate incident amazingly took place inside Benin City.
The abduction scene was a stretch of bad road in the city. Joshua Selman Every motorist usually slowed down there. As her car was approaching the spot, there were “uniformed policemen” there. Well-kitted, they packed their double-decked Hilux vehicle, stood-by, AK 47 guns in hand.
They were kidnappers. She didn’t know. Nobody knew. They had already, earlier, kidnapped four people, including, mother and daughter. There was, also, a young ex-FUTO student, an engineer, who wept like a baby as soon as she recognised Nwosu-Iheme. He was classmates with her son at FUTO. The Judge was in the habit of feeding all of them fat, and giving them pocket money each time they visited.
The Kidnappers were waiting to kidnap more people when Her Lordship’s SUV, bearing an FG plate number and Judiciary, approached. They saw a Policeman sitting in front, and knew that whoever must have a kidnap value. They smiled, and readied themselves for action.
As her vehicle slowed down, they saluted her. She raised her hand and took their compliments. That was when they struck.
Before she brought down the hand she had just used to take the compliments, a volley of gun shots rained. Confused, she wondered where the shots came from. Momentarily, she relaxed, thinking she was in the midst of Policemen. But, instinctively, she bent her head down. And so did her Orderly, or so she thought. She didn’t know that he had been fatally shot. He was wearing a bullet proof vest. They knew and, so, aimed at his forehead.
Before she could comprehend what was happening, scores of bullets rained again, this time, shattering her car’s two back tyres.
She told her driver to drive on. Since it was in the city, broad day light, she thought, an intervention would come. None came.
She said she had two options: To feign she was dead, or to allow them take her. She discarded the former. If she feigned she was dead, they may in anger, for losing a high profile price, pump bullets into her. Apostle Joshua Selman She opted to be brought out from the car, and put in the Hilux. That was where she met the others earlier kidnapped.
Six men, wearing Police uniform did the job.
“I was not a target. I was not trailed. Nobody double-crossed my car. I was not on the Benin-Agbor road. It was in Benin city. I ran into them. Four people had been kidnapped before me. If I had delayed anywhere by 20 minutes, that would have saved us. They would have driven off before our arrival”.
The Joy Of The Kidnappers
As soon as they put her in the hilux, the first thing they did was to grab her wrist watch. They looked at it, they screamed. Their joy knew no bounds. These guys knew the make. Then, they grabbed her rings and her bangles, and screamed some more. They went back to her car, took her hand bag, saw the quality, and knew they had hit a jackpot.
Then, they went back and grabbed her suit case. They took their time. Yet, the thousands of Security personnel in Benin – Military, Police, Civil Defence, Para- military – were nowhere near! God has buttered their bread, the abductors exclaimed. They, therefore, discarded the idea of waiting for some more victims. Justice Nwosu-Iheme was more than enough. They drove off, unconfronted. And this was inside Benin City!
They asked their five victims to bend down, as they drove on, just so nobody would see them and suspect anything. But there was no need. They knew their route. Until they got to their final destination, they met no military or police check-point.
Madam Justice, You Have Broken The Internet
Final destination was a house – completed, not uncompleted, as had been speculated.
By the next morning, they had known her identity, fully. Smart guys, they relied on the internet to follow reactions to their exploits of the previous day. The Social media provided that. It was awash with her very rich Curriculum Vitae. Apostle Joshua Selman What they read gave them joy unlimited. A Judge of the Appeal Court. (They called it Appeal Supreme Court). Nigeria’s first female Judge to have a PhD. Well respected and regarded.
Holds the key to a city in the USA. Dotting husband. Well behaved children – all lawyers, medical doctor, engineer. Had handled high profile sensitive cases. What else? The Social media had it all. So, they told her: “Madam Justice, you have broken the internet. We thank God for providing you for us. We are happy you are in our midst. After you, we will not embark on any other job for the next six months. God has blessed us with you in our midst”. https://www.google.com/amp/s/thesourceng.com/exclusive-why-and-how-appeal-court-judge-nwosu-iheme-was-kidnapped-what-her-abductors-told-her/amp/ |

Politics › Re: Buhari To Security Agencies: Improve On Response To Kidnapping, Bandit Attacks by VanEFCC: 11:19am On Nov 22, 2019 |
BuhariCarryGo: President Muhammadu Buhari has called on security agencies and communities under threats of bandits’ attacks and kidnappings to be more vigilant and alert in the light of the latest incidents in Enugu, Zamfara, Adamawa, Katsina and Kaduna States.
In a statement on Thursday, Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Apostle Joshua Selman Media & Publicity, said Mr Buhari made the call while reacting to the recent reports of heightened acts of violence and kidnappings after a period of relative inactivity in the country.
Mr Buhari observed that, “in view of the unpredictability of the security situation, our security forces and the communities affected should be ever more alert because these murderous and remorseless criminals would take advantage of your complacency and strike again.”
According to him, “the bandits should under Apostle Joshua Selman no circumstances be allowed to hold the country to ransom on account of security loopholes which they seek to exploit to strike at their victims.
“The criminals always look for loopholes in our security system in order to remain in business and active, but we shouldn’t give them the space to achieve this diabolical objective by pre-empting them.”
Mr Buhari added that “complacency is a hidden or unnoticed enemy that we shouldn’t take for granted, because doing so could weaken our strategies.”
The President, however, noted that the affected communities also have a responsibility to help the security agencies with the critically important human intelligence in order to stop the bandits in their tracks.
According to the President, “the bandits maintain networks of informants among the communities they attack”, adding that “by identifying and reporting these informants to the authorities, it would be by far easier to foil the bandits before they reach their intended targets.”
Commending the security agencies for their dedication and Joshua Selman sacrifices, President Buhari directed them to “redouble their efforts and make life uncomfortable for the bandits.”
“You should spare no effort in breaking the backbone of these Joshua Selman savage mass killers and don’t hesitate to attack them with merciless intensity until they are crushed and ultimately defeated”, the President said.

“We are building a brand new Sea Port in Pessu. It will cost 800 million dollars. When you stop them from working you are losing such a huge investment where the entire community can be contractors, some can supply sand.

Politics › Re: Yahaya Bello: My Victory Has Buried Politics Of Ethnicity In Kogi by VanEFCC: 11:16am On Nov 22, 2019 |
zakim: Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi has said that with his ‘overwhelming’ victory in all three senatorial districts, the politics of ethnicity has been buried “finally” in the state. Apostle Joshua Selman The governor, who said this yesterday after the APC National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, presented him to President Muhammadu Buhari, appealed to his opponents to join hands with him in order to develop the state.
He said: “Just few hours ago, I received my certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in Lokoja. That is the conclusion of the November 16th gubernatorial election that was held, that I won with landslide.
“I told you sometime back that the issue of winning the election was not in question but the margin with which I will defeat my opponent, and that he will have no reason whatsoever to go to tribunal. However, going to the tribunal is their right and if they so wish, we will meet in court. “But I want to use this opportunity to call on all those that contested the elections with me – starting from the primaries of our party to the main election – and all other political parties to please join me, we are all citizens of Apostle Joshua Selman Kogi State, in the this next level so that we can together do more for Kogi State.
“I inherited a state that was largely divided along ethnic lines but in this particular election, I was able to put that behind us, that for us ethnicity is not the way, that it is a monster that has held the country down and which tore the states apart sometimes. “By the special grace of God, today in Kogi State, ethnicity has been buried finally. Because, in this particular election, Joshua Selman I won overwhelmingly in all three senatorial districts of Kogi State. “We have a lot of tasks ahead of us, the journey has just begun.
I need the cooperation and understanding of every citizen and residents of Kogi State to join hands with me so that we can do more for Kogi State.” The APC National Chairman, Oshiomhole, said the victory of Governor Bello represented a departure from politics of sentiments.

Compared to the third quarter of 2018 which recorded a growth of 1.81%, the real GDP growth rate observed in the third quarter of 2019 indicates an increase of 0.47% points. Relative to the second quarter of 2019, which recorded a growth rate of 2.12%, Q3 2019 Joshua Selman represents an increase of 0.17% points.* On a quarter on quarter basis, however, real GDP grew by 9.23%. The growth rate in Q3 2019 represents the second-highest quarterly rate recorded since 2016.
In the quarter under review, aggregate GDP stood at N37,806,924.41 million in nominal terms. This performance is higher compared to the aggregate of N33,368,049.14 million recorded in the third quarter of 2018, representing a year on year nominal growth rate of 13.30%. The growth rate is, however, lower relative to rates recorded in the third quarter of 2018 by –0.28% points and the rates recorded in the preceding quarter by –0.71% points. For better clarity, the Nigerian economy has been classified broadly into the oil and non-oil sectors.
The Oil Sector
In Q3 2019, Nigeria recorded average daily oil production of 2.04 million barrels per day (mbpd), its highest in more than three years. This output was 0.1mbpd higher than the daily average production of 1.94mbpd recorded in the same quarter of 2018 and 0.02mbpd higher than the revised oil production levels in Q2 2019 of 2.02mbpd.
The real growth of the oil sector was 6.49% (year-on-year) in Q3 2019 indicating an increase of 9.40% points relative to rate recorded in the corresponding quarter of 2018. The rate was lower by –0.68% points when compared to Q2 2019 which was 7.17%.* Quarter-on-Quarter, the oil sector recorded a growth rate of 18.88% in Q3 2019. The sector contributed 9.77% to total real GDP in Q3 2019, up from figures recorded in the corresponding period of 2018 as well as the preceding quarter, when it accounted for 9.38% and 8.98% respectively.
The Non-Oil Sector
The non-oil sector grew by 1.85% in real terms during the reference quarter. This is –0.48% points lower when compared to the rate recorded in the same quarter of 2018 but 0.20% points higher than the second quarter of 2019. Apostle Joshua Selman During the quarter, the sector was driven mainly by the Information and Communication sector. Other drivers were Agriculture, Mining and Quarrying, Transportation and Storage, and Manufacturing. In real terms, the Apostle Joshua Selman Non-Oil sector contributed 90.23% to the nation’s GDP, slightly lower than the share recorded in the third quarter of 2018 (90.62%), and in the second quarter of 2019 (91.02%).

Politics › Re: PDP To Probe Bayelsa And Kogi Elections And Those Who Cost Them Victory by VanEFCC: 10:59am On Nov 22, 2019 |
zakim: The Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Joshua Selman Party yesterday asked the National Working Committee to probe those who worked against the interest of the party in Joshua Selman Bayelsa and Kogi governorship elections last Saturday. Speaking with Daily Trust after the BoT meeting, the board’s chairman, Walid Jibrin, said the BoT members were displeased with the party’s defeat in the two elections.
“We are very concerned with what is happening in Nigerian politics especially the recent one in Kogi and Bayelsa. We reviewed the situation and condemned in totality the issue of rigging, killings, ballot box snatching that characterised the elections.
“We also viewed the accusations and counter accusations among our members on the behaviour of some of our members both in Kogi and Bayelsa, and especially in Bayelsa. “We advised that we will not run the gun, we must make Joshua Selman thorough research before we come to conclusion on who did what and suggest remedies.
“Therefore, we recommended to the NWC that a very serious investigation must take place. We recommended that an interim committee has to be set up similar to the one that was set up after the 2015 election under the chairmanship of former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu and myself. We have also asked the organs of the party that all of us must come together.”
When asked why the national chairman of the party, Uche Secondus left the meeting half way, Jibrin said he came to the meeting to brief BoT members on recent developments in the party after which he left for other official matters. He however, dispelled insinuations that the BoT passed a vote of no confidence on Secondus.

opportunes: Justice Okon Abang, the presiding Joshua Selman judge in the ongoing trial of Abdulrasheed Maina, a former chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team, yesterday warned that the court would no longer tolerate “drama” during the proceedings. The judge said this while ruling on an Joshua Selman application for adjournment on the grounds that Maina’s health had further deteriorated during the proceedings.
Maina is standing trial on a 12-count charge bordering on money laundering and concealment of proceeds of the unlawful act. His son, Faisal, is also standing trial before the same court on a separate three-count charge.
Earlier, counsel to the second defendant, Adeola Adedipe had informed the court that the court’s findings on the medical record of Maina and the ruling on the bail application filed by Maina have direct impact on the continuation of the trial. But while the court was still taking responses from other counsels, a security operative attached to the court Apostle Joshua Selman approached the judge to inform him that water was being poured on Maina, who was seated at the back roll of the court room.
At that point, Maina’s lawyer, Apostle Joshua Selman Francis Oronsaye, informed the judge that he had intended to apply for the court’s permission for his client to take his medication, but does not want to be seen as disrupting the proceedings. https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/judge-warns-against-drama-as-maina-bleeds-in-court.html |
Education › Re: 71 Cultists Suspended From Secondary School Etoi, Uyo For Trying To Burn School by VanEFCC: 10:55am On Nov 22, 2019 |
nwokoromercyme: A total of 71 Apostle Joshua Selman pupils of the Government Secondary School, Etoi in Uyo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State have been suspended for allegedly attempting to burn down the school.
It was gathered that some pupils alleged to be members of a cult group took the law into their hands and vandalised the school property.
The pupils also held the Principal hostage for several hours and attacked security personnel in the school.
The Commissioner for Education, Apostle Joshua Selman Prof Nse Essien, announced the suspension when he led some management staff of the ministry and other stakeholders in the education sector to assess the situation, with a view to proffering a lasting solution.
Expressing his dismay at the attitude of the pupils, Essien said the school was the right of everyone and it should be protected. He said the Akwa Ibom State Government would not fold its hands and allow hooligans take over the school.
The commissioner added that anybody found culpable would be severely punished.
Stressing that those who took part in the incident were not bonafide pupils of the school, he called for the cooperation of all, including the security agencies, to fish out the bad eggs.
“All the 71 pupils will be suspended indefinitely for their part in the acts of violence and insubordination, except proven otherwise.
“We got some of the names through intelligence. Joshua Selman This measure is meant to sanitise the system and serve as deterrent to others” he said.
He added that the final-year pupils among them would have their names removed from the list of WASSCE candidates to further buttress government’s zero tolerance for indiscipline.
The commissioner blamed the teachers for the poor upbringing of the affected pupils, which he Joshua Selman claimed had contributed to their actions.
“As teachers, it is your job to instill discipline in the pupils and to forestall a breakdown of law and order in our schools. Any teacher who is accustomed to lateness, negligence of duty and other forms of misdemeanor will face serious sanctions”, he said.

The DSS has kept Dasuki in its custody since December 2015 in violation of series of court orders for his release. Reacting to scathing criticisms over its culture of violating court orders in the wake of its refusal to comply with the court order for the release of the convener of #RevolutionNow protest, Mr. Omoyele Sowore, and his co-defendant, Olawale Bakare, from custody, the DSS said it continued to hold them, Dasuki and the leader of Shiite Muslims in Nigeria, Sheikh El-Zakzaky, and his wife because they opted to remain in the detention of the agency. Sowore’s lawyer, Mr Femi Falana (SAN), had earlier debunked the claim, highlighting how the agency made three contradictory statements within a week in its bid to explain away its decision not to release the Sahara Reporters publisher and his co-defendant in violation of court orders. Also debunking the agency’s claim on Monday, Dasuki’s lawyer, Raji, wondered why an individual would opt to remain in custody. He stated, “It is therefore most incorrect and inaccurate to claim that Col. Dasuki prayed the court to be kept in DSS facility. “This is far from the truth. Perhaps, there is no synergy between the counsel appearing for the government in Dasuki matters and the DSS hierarchy. Consequently, we appeal to all authorities, and principally – DSS, to comply with the various extant orders of the court by immediately releasing Col. Dasuki (retd.).” Raji recalled how on November 3, 2015, the Federal High Court, Abuja, after granting to Dasuki on self-recognisance, also granted him leave to travel abroad for a three-week medical consultation, on account of failing health. He added that before Dasuki could enforce the court orders, “officers of Department of State Service, laid siege to his house in Asokoro, in brazen defiance of the order of court; and deliberately disallowed him from accomplishing the terms of the order.” He added, “The Federal Government , while confirming the continued detention of Col. Dasuki, explained that such actions were due to the severity of the alleged offences. Excerpts of these events were well stated in several reports of national dailies of 31st December, 2015. “In complying with the due process of law, Col. Dasuki filed processes seeking to extend the travel period granted by the Federal High Court and the DSS vehemently opposed the application and continued to barricade Col. Dasuki’s residence. “Shortly thereafter, two separate charges were preferred against him at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja in Charge No. FCT/CR/42/2015 & Charge No. FCT/CR/43/2015 against Col. Dasuki, while DSS continued to detain him on purported investigation on allegations of money laundering offences. “Bail was subsequently granted on the charges on December 21, 2015, and December 18, 2015, terms of which were duly complied with. Consequently, he was released by the Kuje Prison authorities where he was remanded, but on stepping out of the gate of the prison, he was seized by the men of DSS and he has been kept by them since. “Since the re-arrest of Col. Dasuki in December 2015, no further investigation was carried out and no new charges were preferred against him. “The ECOWAS Court ordered his immediate release and also awarded N5m damages against the Federal Government. Despite the fact that Nigeria is a member of the ECOWAS, the judgment of ECOWAS was disregarded by the Federal Government. “Finally, a fundamental human rights action was filed on behalf of Col. Dasuki at the Federal High Court – Abuja, on March 15, 2018, seeking to protect his right to dignity of his person, personal liberty, freedom of movement, private and family life, as enshrined under sections 34(1), 35(1), (4) & (5), 37 & 41(1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The Federal High Court, Coram: Justice Ijeoma L. Ojukwu, on the 2nd of July 2018, found the continued detention of Col. Dasuki to be unlawful and granted bail on terms. “The Federal Government, has since 2015, failed to comply with any of the bail orders of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Federal High Court as well as the ECOWAS Court, granted in favour of Col. Dasuki.” Source : https://punchng.com/dss-lied-over-dasuki-continuous-detention-lawyer/cc; lalasticlala , mynd44 https://yagibaze.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/dasuki.jpg |
