Politics / Re: Chad Gives Nigeria April 22 Deadline To Occupy Territories Seized From BokoHaram by VANZETA: 10:03pm On Apr 12, 2020

May the good Lord use the remembrance of today to forgive me for supporting the candidacy of this man in 2015 (even though I didn't vote for him). I actually campaigned for GEJ too then in 2011 o, but because of the disappointment I got from him before I started routing for this one not knowing it's from frying pan to fire. And my wife warned me that time o. chai!

Anyway, taking a cue from Arsene Wenger (who was always seeing positive in each of his team's woeful performances), the positive in this whole saga is that the man has finally being demystified. If we didn't allow him to get there it would have looked like we lost the Messiah that could have saved Nigeria.

It's too late to apologise. Anybody that ever thought someone like Buhari have anything at all to offer has deep issues.

From day one, loudmouth narcissistic drama king Idriss Derby has always been full of his ego. He has never fully fought alongside any other countries' army. He would go alone, suffer losses and whine like a baby. In his reckoning, it is only Chadian soldiers that can effectively defend both Lake Chad area and Sahel Region while other countries' soldiers are mere 'Boys Scout groups'. SMH

Idriss Deby showed many pictures of the battle including cache of weapons seized and where . Why hasn't he shown the video or pictures of corpses of the one thousand terrorists killed and littered around?

Idriss Derby can only bamboozle emotional Nigerians who are searching for new deity to adulate. The reality remains constant: He tolerated and harboured terrorists camps on Chadian soil against Nigeria before they killed 90 Chadian soldiers.

Look at the way you are disgracing Festac. .

Politics / Re: Coronavirus: Ogun State To Stop Non-Essential Inter-State Movement From Monday by VANZETA: 7:42am On Mar 29, 2020
Seun:
This is stupid. I hope it doesn't affect Nairaland. The #ShutDownNigeria people don't have a very deep understanding of how an economy works. The vast majority of business activities in a developing country like Nigeria are essential. Very few people going to Lagos just for fun. Our leaders think that shutting things down is a viable alternative to massive testing and isolation of those who test positive, and we are cheering them on. There is no quick fix to the Coronavirus. There is no alternative to massive testing, isolation and contact tracing. We have to use our brains.

To be shutting down a country to stop a virus is like shooting a man dead to kill the sickness in his body. Does it work? Yes. But it's also stupid. I say instead of that, find a drug that targets the sickness in his body and kills it without killing the man. That's the only real solution to this issue.

There are only two countries whose efforts to beat the Coronavirus have been really successful. China and South Korea. I suggest that they are the only people that we should be listening to. They both encourage the widespread use of facemasks. They both do massive testing and isolation of infected people. China shut down part of their country but South Korea didn't do that despite having around 1,000 new cases per day at peak. They just continued to do every smart thing that could reduce the rate of transmission of the virus, and it worked and is working.

If you put a mask on every face, educate everybody about how to conduct their business without spreading the virus, and do massive testing of all people suspected to have the virus, and that doesn't work (it will), that's when you can start thinking of shutting things down. Our politicians won't even distribute face-masks to market women in Lagos who are begging them for it, or wear them, but they want to #ShutDownNigeria.

Most people shouting Shutdown are selfishly trying to save only themselves because in their myopic perception they have "stock up". Time will tell.

Oga Seun help o, my username is marked as SPAM, if you qoute me you will be banned.
I don't know why.

Amazing...

Nice work

But what really is your opinion on the religious banning?
You feel it's wrong?

From3 stand point:
1) The virus is no not as deadly as the media want us to believe. Malaria is far dangerous.

2) you can not enforce 10% compliance on social distancing in Lagos, it is practically impossible. Too many people..
Where will you start, is it Ojuelegba, CMS, Ipaja, Ikeja along...
Why target religion?
Why target the economy?

Take away religion and food from the masses, what would ensue is chaos.

3) Lastly, military will have to get involved as usual then people that would die from military brutality will be more than the people that even have the virus.

Sadly, Churches were shut down;
Many felt relieved;
The virus would spread tru town;
Only in science we believe.

This Covid ish is serious;
But open bars and lounge;
Pass me one bottle;
Alcohol kills the virus.

Ndokwa to Barmanda fully jam-packed;
But they say let's close churches;
Not more than 50, no questions asked.

Market fully open;
Crowded by buyers;
Perhars the Virus is scared of Balogun;
Or is it just attracted only to our churches prayers.

They call us sheeples;
That, we are been fooled
"Religion Fanatics, Mental Cripples"

They do not understand The Church;
Else, why the judgement? why the rush;
Our only pillar of Morality and Sanity about to be destroy;
To some simple folks, what Joy sad .

Covid-19 is world a problem;
Let's solve it by creating more Problems;
Let us isolate "Shut Down" our sickly Economy;
Perhaps the Virus will leave when it realized we have no Money

Schools, little kids must stay at home also;
The virus is terrible; it has kill *"0 (Zero)"* number of children worldwide;
Let's save their soul...

They said it doesn't have a cure today;
But in 30days Chinese treated 80k;
some said, thanks to garlic and Our Italian is now Okay

chroloquine is effective says FDA;
Chroloquine is already in an average Nigerian DNA;
Perhaps our body is stronger;
But our mind is far weaker.

Stay positive, stay free, stay safe.

*Source* before we can debate the content. By the way China didn't lose the trade war. A re-negotiation of terms of business agreement cannot simple amount to lost of trade deals. It is a known fact that change is inevitable, mind you reputable Americans companies has their coy in China. So what will be the benefit of Chinese to set-up their country men and lose investors and citizens? Even when the Chinese practice the policy of isolation from the rest of the world between 1949-1977 they still interact with the world. It is now that they have a intimidating populations (1.4 Billions) to look after they will now decided to set the world ablaze? Are you aware Chinese now export their citizens(prisoners) to other nations just to earn more income in order to keep the economy of the country growing? If this questions are answered. Then we can now proceed to consider the word conspiracy theories.

It's not just about China.

If you have bought shares in China around when the president "lied" that they have lost the war on Covid 19, by now you share would have atleast 1000% in value and still growing.

If you had sold (at a give away), you just lost huge money.

The government bought all, clean swoop at almost 0¥

Now, no more Covid 19 patient in China, stock went +0.3% up

If you understand stock-exchange and communism you would know that Chinese government has become very stronger and richer this few months

China tweaked a virus to make it highly contagious, low fatal rate especially among younger population and defy all known cure.

How were they able to make it seem so so fatal (almost a catch and die) beat my imagination.

This write up got me thinking...

Same Corona Virus that the Chinese government said they have lost the battle to,
Obviously statement like that would crash their economy.
The president can only say so if he wanted the crash to buy the market.

The vaccine was always available, the battle winnable, they have won the battle and also their economy.

Individuals that bought share then would be growing richer by the day now.

This will go down as one of the greatest political manauver of all time.

Continually asking a very nepotistic, parochial and incompetent person to solve a problem is rather moronic.

He is incapable of finding a solution even if he genuinely wants to. But he genuinely doesn't want to find a solution.

The sooner people realise this the better for them.

My question has always been what is the next step.

Lol good question, besides a car is a necessity rather than a luxury it's only when a person buys more cars than they need it becomes foolishness. It's good to invest in real estate but surely we're not expected to Trek to the site.

Trekking under Lagos sun have adverse mental health effects.
Like you said, car is a necessity not a luxury, especially the ones with AC

Hmm, this is actually looking at it from one side.

But they are also better reason to invest in car than a plot of land of same price.

If you are an entrepreneur that is into services business (or any business) you would understand the importance of mobility.
Your productivity would increase tremendously, your marketing activities, meetings etc would be more fluid and less stressful.

So perhaps for an employee that works 8-6, a plot of land is better but for business person or entrepreneur car is far better.
