babasolution:I disagree with the bolded... Nigeria is like huge ship sailing across heavy tides, tho the waves and tides may swerve it left and right but it's making progress. They are lot of challenges we've faced as a people and as a nation due to positions we've taken on many occasions for sake of the continent, but we've still manage to forge ahead. Nigeria is massive, more massive than you can imagine. Lastly, Nigeria isn't about only the leaders but the people. |
I think it's time to Nigeria to stand up and assert herself as the leading Nation in this continent, cus sacrifices we've made for Africa no African country has ever done it not even our 1994 entrant. Imagine a nation like south Africa that the rest of Africa had to bail out from perpetual domination few years ago now want to lead their grand fathers. You won't blame them, when a snake lose the ability to strike even little children will use it to tie firewoods. The problem with South African is they are delusional, 70% of them don't know Africa's history pre 1994, so they don't understand where we have been coming from as a continent and our pan African struggles, reason why they talk down on Pan Africanism. They are shortsighted and ignorant, they can't smell the coffee. Just like it was pre 1994 there's an attempt to further isolate them from the rest of Africa especially Nigerians for future domination. The whites are definitely coming back to power before the next 30 years and this time the rest of continent won't lift a finger for them. |
haffaze777:I guess you'll be desperately needing the help now. |
Recent happenings in the Nigeria especially in the Northern parts of the country has proven my assertion to be true. The Northern cloud has gathered and the storm is here. To my South West brothers you should have united with the other souths immediately Tinubu won just like North was united during Buhari's tenure, but you decided to taunt other South forgetting days like this will come when you'll be needing them. Sit. tight... E go be |
Ikumapkayi:And who is the Southern President?? It's funny you guys chose to be Southerners whenever it suits your agenda, but ditch the South whenever objective has been achieved. |
SoNature:Which South? Uncle carry your cross |
What are they cooking in the North? |

In a statement issued on Saturday, the group's Executive Director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, described the examinations as illegal and unacceptable by any standard because they were taken on days declared as public holidays by the Nigerian Government. An Islamic human rights advocacy group, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has declared examinations taken in two universities in Enugu on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 9 and 10, 2024 as illegal, null and void. In a statement issued on Saturday, the group's Executive Director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, described the examinations as illegal and unacceptable by any standard because they were taken on days declared as public holidays by the Nigerian Government. The group called for the cancellation of the examination and tests. It said, "Reports reaching us from the University of Nigeria Enugu Campus (UNEC) and the Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu, reveal that both institutions ignored the holidays declared on Tuesday and Wednesday by the Federal Government (FG). While the former conducted examinations on Salah day, the latter held two tests on that day. "These are acts of insubordination and outright disobedience on the part of the vice chancellors of both institutions. We expect the minister of education to take up the matter with them. Failure to call them to order will only egg them further to act arrogantly against policies and decisions of FG in future. "It has never been heard that a university based in the Muslim-dominated North conducted an examination or test during a Christmas or Easter holiday. Some authorities in the South-East are out-Heroding Herod in their quest to persecute Muslims by all means. “Islamophobia is becoming rampant in that zone but what is surprising is that, this time, it is coming from higher institutions where people are expected to be more liberal. "Meanwhile we are constrained to declare both the examination and the tests taken in both universities as illegal, illegitimate, unlawful and unconstitutional. They are ultra vires, null and void.” The organisation called on the vice-chancellors of the two schools “to ensure that no student, whether Muslim or Christian, who missed the examination or the tests is sanctioned”. It continued, “Those events never happened. There was simply no examination. Neither was there any test because nothing of that nature is expected to happen during a properly declared holiday. “At least there is ample evidence that the holidays were announced ahead of time and long enough for all members of the public to be fully aware. "That examination and those two tests constitute a void, a sham, a nullity and anything built on nullity remains a nullity. “That examination never took place in UNEC and no tests were held in the Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu. That is the position of the law. "No examination or test held in any school, polytechnic or university on a public holiday can be recognized by the law. A public holiday is holiday period for all and sundry, civil servants, teachers, lecturers and students. The law does not recognize invigilators and candidates on public holidays. "MURIC advises the two vice-chancellors, through the deans of the erring faculties, with the active participation of the heads of departments, to instruct the lecturers to cancel the ill-conceived, bitterness-loaded and luciferous examination and tests. “They never took place. This is the soft landing we can offer the erring lecturers, department and faculty. "It is our fervent hope that nobody will make any attempt to massage egos because both the heads of departments and the deans of the faculties where this abnormality occurred may have to explain the reason for their dereliction of duty. Damage-control measures may be too late at that time." https://saharareporters.com/2024/04/14/your-exams-conducted-during-eid-el-fitr-holiday-are-illegal-islamic-group-tells-enugu

April 11, 2024 NEWS MURIC also advised the Muslims to seek forgiveness from their Creator, Allah, to change their ways, eschew greed, and appreciate what Allah has done for them. An Islamic rights advocacy group, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has told Nigerian Muslims to see the current economic hardship as a trial from Allah for which they need patience in order to overcome it and receive divine blessings. MURIC also advised the Muslims to seek forgiveness from their Creator, Allah, to change their ways, eschew greed, and appreciate what Allah has done for them. This was contained in a Sallah message signed on Thursday by the MURIC Executive Director, Prof Ishaq Akintola, noting that those who face the trial with forbearance will receive the mercy and blessings of Allah. MURIC calls on Nigerians to desist from trading blames, and cultivate a positive attitude towards their country, to seek forgiveness from their supreme creator. The statement reads in part; “We congratulate the Nigerian Ummah (Muslim Community) on the successful completion of the 2024 (1445AH) Ramadan season. In particular, we felicitate with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima as well as the Sultan of Sokoto and President General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar. “It is our wish to ponder over the present economic hardship being experienced by Nigerians. In the first place, we submit that Nigeria has been blessed in all ramifications including a wonderful and extended landscape, rich and fertile land, unlimited mineral resources as well as human capital wealth. Qur’an 20:118-119 and 16:112 alluded to these blessings. But in spite of Allah’s warning that Shaytan (Satan) is man’s open enemy and that we should not allow him to deceive us into forgetting Allah’s blessings (20:117), we hobnobbed with Shaytan, became greedy and committed evil on both land and sea (30:41) and failed to appreciate Allah (fakafarat bi ani’umillahi) and as a result of our ingratitude, Allah made us taste the pangs of hunger and fear (16:112). “We therefore urge Nigerians to see the current hardship as a direct impact of our bad past and a trial (2:155 and 29:2) which we should patiently contend with and seek the forgiveness of Allah in order to overcome the hardship and receive divine blessings. According to the Glorious Qur’an, those who face the trial with forbearance will receive the mercy and blessings of Allah (2:157). “Consequently, MURIC calls on Nigerians to desist from trading blames, to cultivate a positive attitude towards their country, to seek forgiveness from their Supreme Creator, turn a new leaf and face the future with patience and hardwork.” https://saharareporters.com/2024/04/11/hardship-faced-nigerians-trial-allah-those-who-endure-will-receive-mercy-muric

What is "Mayor of Ohafia" what kind of stupid title is that? Is the title indigenous to the people of Ohafia? |
Just after Asiwaju Tinubu ascended the office of the president, SW Apc folks went on a banter spree against the other Souths forgetting the so called "Southern Unity" that guaranteed power rotating back to the south. In a previous thread I made just after the election, I questioned the SW Apc folks what will happen "when the North start their games against Tinubu's presidency who will stand with you ?" https://www.nairaland.com/7843040/still-southern-presidency Now that the Northern storm have begining to gather who will stand with the SW? The SW came to power on the mantra of "Southern Unity" and Southern presidency, but ended up cornering all juicy and revenue generating positions all for themselves not even sharing it appropriately with the other Souths unlike Buhari that favored the whole North including the SW. The SW APC also launched vitriol of malicious tribal attacks on other Southern counterparts forgeting the alliance that brought them to power. With the recent happenings happening in the Senate and scheming by northern senators it seems old play books have been opened and it's all about to begin. Just like i predicted and history being my guide, they will come to Tinubu's presidency. To my APC SW folks, you can't eat your cake and have it back. The "southern unity" ship you will desperately now have long sailed. Sit Tight. |
NEWS AGENCY OF NIGERIA • MARCH 3, 2024 A 12-year old Junior Secondary School (JSS-2) student, (name withheld), who was allegedly used to buy two bags of rice by suspected kidnappers has been found. His father, Pastor Joshua Ogbonna told journalists on Sunday in Lagos that suspected kidnappers allegedly took his son and used him to buy two bags of rice valued at N180,000 from a food stuff seller. He said that on Friday, March 1, at about 9.00 a.m., his son was asked to buy moi-moi (bean pudding) for family breakfast and did not return home. According to him, the boy went to the place to buy the moi-moi, the seller told him it was not ready, but collected the money and told him to return when it is ready. He said some minutes later, his boy went back to the woman to collect the moi-moi, but the boy never returned. “We were looking for him everywhere, we went to the place he was supposed to buy the moi-moi and asked the lady selling. She explained that the boy was there earlier but the moi-moi was not ready, she collected N1,000 from him and asked him to come back later. “She explained that when he came back, he came with a man and the lady thought the man was his father, the man collected the moi-moi from her and they both left. “She said the man was putting on a white top and black trousers, dark in complexion. I told her we have been looking for him, and there after, we went to New Oko-Oba Police Division at Abule-Egba, to make entry, so that they can help me look for my child,” he said. Mr Ogbonna further explained that while they were still at the station, around 5.00 p.m., he received a call from another police officer, who said he was calling from Red House Police Station, Iju Ishaga. Mr Ogbonna said that the officer told him his son was with them and he should come to the station. He said he went there with three policemen from the New Oko-Oba Police Division, where they told the officer that there was a report of a missing child. “The police officer, who called me, said this is not a case of a missing child, but theft. The officer said the child stole two bags of rice. I asked, how can a 12-year old boy steal two bags of rice, I told the officer that we live in Abule-Egba. The police showed me a footage of two men and the boy, who went to the rice seller. The policeman said that the men bought two bags of rice for N180,000. “The officer said one of the men claimed that they had a church event and needed to buy rice. The man claimed he was the father of the boy. “He asked the boy to wait at the rice shop, while he went home to get the money, he left with the two bags of rice in company of the other man,” he explained. Mr Ogbonna said the officer explained that when the man did not come back with the money, the rice seller asked the boy the “whereabouts of his father who brought him there.” “My boy told the rice seller that he didn’t know the man nor where he lived, they started beating him, calling him thief, while he was being beaten a man came up to his rescue. “They told him all that happened. They went to police station with my boy to report the case, that was when they called me. The Police said there was a CCTV Camera that captured them when they were coming to carry the rice. “They didn’t show me where they were carrying the rice. The rice sellers insisted that I must pay for the rice, I told them, I can’t pay for two bags, I will pay for one bag for my son to be released to me. “I paid N90,000 for one bag of rice. After that Police said I must bail my child, I told them how can I bail a child. They insisted, then I told them, I will leave my child with them if they refuse to release him to me. “I later paid N5,000 to bail my son,” he said. Mr Ogbonna said he left the Red House Police Station for Oko-Oba Police Division to close the case of missing child with N10,000 payment. He said his son later told him how he met the man on his way to buy the moi-moi. According to his son, while going to buy the moi-moi, a man stopped him, and requested him to hold his phone for him that he wanted to use water to wash his legs. He said his son explained that after the man washed his legs, he collected the phone from him, hit his head, made some incantations, he said that was the last thing he remembered. “My son said the only thing he could remember was that he was on top of a motorcycle to a place with the man, where they took a tricycle (Keke Maruwa) to another place, and from there, they took another motorcycle to Opawale, where the man abandoned him. “The trauma was hell for my son. He has not recovered up till now. It was God, who saved his life,” Mr Ogbonna said. The Lagos Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident, stressing that the police were investigating the case. Mr Hundeyin advised traders to beware of fraudsters using innocent children as collateral to obtain goods. “Insist that they leave with their brother or sister and bring the money before they can take any item,” he counselled. Most of you here are just kids with fantasies. |
People that despises self criticism, they hate the bitter truth so much. Few days ago, the PDP segun Sowunmi criticized the leadership style in the south west, you need to see the backlash he received from the Yoruba folks, why should he say the bitter truth. What Sowunmi said is little compared to what some Igbo politicians have said regarding what they feel is isn't right, they igbos have the culture of criticizing themselves, they don't pander or conceal the bitter truth. The "nzobu nzobu" slangs used by most SW folks to trolls the Igbos was said by Soludo when he was registering his discontent with what was happening at that time... This is how the Igbos is. Ekwerenmadu was a high level politician in Nigeria, a deputy Senate president for many years, we all know what happened to him in Germany even tho I don't support the extreme measure that was taken on him. Now my question is, can any SW folks look Eleyi of Ogun state and tell him to his face he is fucking up? Never! They can't the culture doesn't support self criticism not to talk of the courage to question their leaders. If the igbos are allowed to practice their undiluted democracy, all these politicians will be powerless even before that they still point out the underperforming ones out. |
Emco1:South West not South... |
PassingShot:You and who be Southerner? You want to be a southerner now that the storms are gathering? You were southerner before the election but West after Tinubu victory... Dey play! |
They supported and defended Buhari's nepotism because they were benefitted from it
|
Sonyboom:But the south west benefitted heavily from Buhari's administration, the southwest alone got 30% of key appointments and you all defended Buhari vehemently. Why now accusing Buhari of nepotism?
|
b3llo:But you supported same Buhari's nepotism for good 8 years. |
Before the 2023 election there was so much fanfare about the Southern unity and demand for power to move to the South. Along that was a demand for collection of VAT by state governments, championed by southern governors to further the course of the so-called southern unity. Through dedication, hardwork and anti-party activities by some southern governors power shifted to the south. Just like the VAT one region is reaping the benefit only. We've seen lopsided appointments never witness before not even by Buhari, where one tribe is exercising control over the economy and all revenue generating agency of the government and almost half of lagos have been emptied into Abuja, this is not healthy for our democracy. Even Buhari that favored the North(NW NE NC), also favored the SW and in return, Southwest people heavily defended brazen nepotism because they were benefited from it. It's somehow surprising to see same Southwest justifying the present Tinubu nepotism with Buhari's government, the Buhari's nepotism you heavily defended and supported? One region is taking what 6 regions should take, at least Buhari shared his among 4 regions excluding the SE snd SS. Prior the presidential election Sanwo Olu was all over frolicking with other Southern Governors, immediately the presidential election was won things changed, a propagandist, tribal and divisive electoral winning strategy was implemented where other tribes were targeted, lynched and disenfranchised from exercising their constitutional right to vote in a state where they live and pay tax. So much for Southern Unity. The same people that preached southern unity are those that connived to take power away from the South under Goodluck Jonathan and it was called "Political Sophistication" okay. The other South should also apply the so-called "political sophistication" in future elections, because it seems it's only peanuts you'll get from this Western government, you guys were played. My questions for Southwesterners is when northerners start their games against Tinubu's presidency who will stand with you, or you guys think they won't? Study all Southern Presidents and study where their opposition came from. Obasanjo was able to withstand Atiku and his people cus he was a retired general and he had fellow Southern support including North Central, when They came for Goodluck Jonathan he had Eastern support and North Central too but Southwest betrayed the South. So when they come for Tinubu Southwest will be standing alone, don't expect the so-called Southern unity you did trampled on different occasions Lastly, we are on a wrong and dangerous trajectory, this winner takes it all kind of governance we practice won't take the nation anywhere but will cost problems in the future and if care is not taken history may repeat itself. Happy weekend!

Today I came across a story in India where many children were badly affected due to a vaccine shot and it keeps me wondering why new born babies have to take immunization shots and other injections, aren't they immunized already by the creator who created them? During the old days in Africa precisely, there wasn't any vaccine or immunization their babies grew up to become healthy and strong without having to take these shots 💉. My questions are: How safe are these vaccines to babies? Lastly, can't babies grow healthy without vaccines and immunization? Health practitioners please.

Typical behavior... Thuggery is a thing in the South West. Why will a queen of Alaafin end up with portable? It answers every question. |
DrGoodman:Don't be surprised 50% of Yoruba language are insults. Most of them were brought up with insults and abuses, imagine a father calling his child "Omo ale"- bastard. That is how they were brought up, so don't be surprised whenever they throw insults. |
a4cube:You're idiot OP ! Was any African country called upon to mediate during the UK- Scotland issue? Wetin concern UK with Niger and ECOWAS? |
flokii: Economic center of Nigeria. Even before independence other tribes have been in Lagos doing business. |
This exam itself is an insult to Nigerians, can't imagine writing exam to visit another country. Tueh to Nigerians!! And some folks sees nothing wrong olwoth this. Colonized minds. |
Karleb:From your answer you maybe a kid .... So run along. |
Karleb:So white meat you mean chicken? Chickens that were injected with God knows what starting from first week till you consume that is healthy? Since time immemorial humans has been consuming beef and goats, they're more healthy to eat than that your chickens you from market. |
Karleb:Says who ? You all believe shit |
IhateYouMan:Tinubu is highly over-rated. Agbado people calls him the master strategist, but events since he assumed office clearly shows he acts before he thinks. |
