Politics / BREAKING- Nigeria To Expect Another Cycle Of Recession by veeshine: 2:13am On Apr 30, 2019
Nigerians warned to expect another cycle of recession - Governor yari warns

The national Bureau of statistics(NBS) said Nigeria has exited it's worst economic recession in more than two decades,
Notching up growth of 0.55 percent in the second quarter of 2017.

This is coming as a surprise to everyone :

Zamfara state governor, Abdulaziz Yari, has said that another cycle of recession is about to hit Nigeria.
Yari who is also the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum NGF, said the recession is likely to set in by mid-2020.

The governor stated this when he spoke at the opening of the three-day retreat for returning governors and governors-elect in Abuja today Monday, April 29th.

The governor also pointed out that borrowing is not a reliable alternative to solving the country’s economic problems. He therefore urged the governors to work in unity to boost the economy.

Speaking on the backdrop of the country’s dependence on crude oil which price has been fluctuating in recent times, Yari said

”This scenario is a wake-up call for all of you to come amply prepared to face these kinds of challenges especially since we are expecting the possibility of another cycle of recession by mid-2020 and which may last up to the third quarter of 2012. Your good spirit of stewardship will make you contain the situation should there be one. As members of the National Economic Council (NEC) you must work hand in hand to boost the economy in tandem with the global best practices”.

Noting that :

Nigeria depends on oil sector for 70 per cent of state revenues and 90 per cent of export earnings, has been battered by lower oil prices since mid-2014, which have slashed government revenues, weakened the currency and caused dollar shortages, frustrating business and households.

Foreign Affairs / Breaking:gunman Opens Fire At Synagogue by veeshine: 10:54pm On Apr 28, 2019
A Gunman has opened fire at a synagogue wounding several people in the US, according to reports ,

A GUNMAN wearing swat gear has killed one and injured several people after opening fire at a synagogue as worshippers marked Passover

One woman – who has not been identified – was killed inside the synagogue in San Diego, California, and three others were wounded on the last day of Passover.

Rabbi Yisorel Goldstein was one of those injured in the shooting – reportedly having lost two fingers.

The suspect – identified later as John Earnest, 19, of San Diego, fled the synagogue by car before surrendering to police shortly afterwards.

Witnesses said the gunman was wearing a tactical vest and a helmet according to CBS 8.

A person going under the name John Earnest posted an anti-Semitic manifesto on a website used by far-right extremists shortly before the attack.

VICTIM: Rabbi Yisorel Goldstein

Authorities later identified one of the victims as the rabbi, who underwent surgery for treatment of "defensive wounds to his index fingers."

The sheriff's office said the two other patients, a 34-year-old man and the girl, 11, were each struck by shrapnel but were "doing well."

Officers arrived shortly before 11:30am in Poway, a suburb of about 50,000 residents, when the suspect walked into the synagogue and started shooting, Gore said.

As he was making his getaway, an off-duty U.S. Border Patrol agent opened fire on the suspect, striking the vehicle but apparently missing the suspect, according to Gore.

Religion / Mary Mother Of Jesus Mosque Spotted In Abu Dhabi. by veeshine: 7:23pm On Apr 28, 2019
New mosque in Abu Dhabi,

The mosque is located in the UAE’s capital Abu Dhabi .It was renamed the “Mary, mother of Jesus” Mosque in 2017 in a bid to “consolidate bonds of humanity between followers of different religions.”
The mosque — “Mariam, Umm Eisa” in Arabic — was renamed following orders of Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Abu Dhabi crown prince and deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces, who called for consolidating bonds between followers of different faiths.
Minister of State for Tolerance Sheikha Lubna Al-Qasimi thanked the crown prince for his “wise directives in carrying out this initiative that set a shining example, and a beautiful image of the tolerance and coexistence enjoyed by the UAE,” according to a statement carried by WAM.
Rev. Canon Andrew Thompson of the nearby St. Andrew’s Church told Gulf News that he was “delighted” to hear the news.
“We are delighted that we are celebrating something that we have in common between both our faiths,” he said.
“Mary, as the mother of Jesus, is of course a holy, special figure in our communities. She is a woman who symbolizes obedience to God. We look forward to growing in deeper understanding with our neighbors, an
d we celebrate with them the new name of the mosque.”
The mosque was previously called the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Mosque.
Within the same week, a church in the area of Al-Ain opened its doors to Muslims for Maghrib prayers. The event saw more than 200 Asian Muslim workers perform prayers in the church.

kindly zoom and see the name of the mosque.

The fire which engulfed the main library building at naraguta campus on October 9 at about 7:pm in the evening ,

Who was really responsible for this unfortunate incident?
no one really knows,
rumors had it that it was some electrical faults,
But others were of the opinion that some students who had issues with their academics from the departments,

Health / 5 Reasons Women Live Longer Than Men, by veeshine: 8:06am On Apr 27, 2019
Life expectancy in the U.S. is at an all-time high, according to a report released last week by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). And while the news that
we’re living, on average, to the ripe old age of 78 years and 9 ½ months isn’t that surprising, there is one stat that is: A girl born in 2012 can expect to live to 81.2 years—almost 5 years longer than a boy baby born the same year, who's likely live to age 76.4. Weaker sex, indeed.
“Men are biologically and sociologically at a disadvantage from the time they’re conceived to the time they die,” says Marianne Legato, MD, professor emerita of clinical medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and founder and director of the Foundation for Gender-Specific Medicine. Here's why:
Females are tougher in utero
Two and a half as many boys are conceived as girls, Dr. Legato says, but they’re so much more likely to succumb to prenatal infection or other issues in the womb that by the time they’re born, the ratio is close to one to one. “They’re also slower to develop physically than girls prenatally, which means they’re more likely to die if they are preemies due to underdeveloped lung or brain development,” Dr. Legato explains.
Women are less likely to be daredevils
Unintentional injuries are the third leading cause of death in men, according to the CDC; for women it's only the sixth. Again, you can blame it on biology: The frontal lobes of the brain—which deal with responsibility and risk calculation—develop much more slowly in males than females, Dr. Legato says.
The result: Guys often take many more risks (which you probably already realize if your small son has taken one too many spins off his bike handlebars). “Almost inevitably, a male will take risks that a woman of his same age wouldn’t take,” Dr. Legato says.
Women succumb to heart disease later
Heart disease is the leading killer of both men and women, but men are more likely to develop it—and die from it—as early as their 30s and 40s. Women, on the other hand, typically develop heart disease 10 years later than men. They're protected from it until menopause, since their bodies churn out estrogen, which helps keep arteries strong and flexible, says Dr. Legato.
RELATED: 15 Weird Things Linked to Heart Attacks
Women have stronger social networks
Friends make good medicine: People with
strong social connections have a 50% lower chance of dying than those with few social ties, according to a 2010 study at Brigham Young University. “Most men tend to hold their stress and worries close to their chest, while women tend to reach out and talk to others,” Dr. Legato explains. The one exception: married men, which also explains why so many studies show that they’re likely to be healthier and live longer.
RELATED: How Friends Make You Healthier
Women take better care of their health
Men are 24% less likely than women to have visited a doctor within the past year and are 22% more likely to skip out on cholesterol testing, according to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. In fact more than a quarter (28%) of men don’t have a regular physician and about one in five didn’t have health insurance in 2012, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation.
You can blame it on the so-called John Wayne syndrome: “Men often deny illness; they minimize symptoms because they don’t want to go to a doctor and find out something is wrong,” Dr. Legato notes.
