Science/Technology / An App That Could Help You Track How Much Time You Spend On Social Media by venex(f): 7:13am On Jun 09, 2017
I stumbled on this app after reading Kacheetee's post on 11 bad phone habits that we really need to quit and it has been an amazing experience with it so far that I had to share.

Quality time is a mobile app that helps you track how much time you spend on your smartphone, apps you visited and how long you spent on them. You could see daily or weekly usage of apps, you could also schedule the app to log you off a social media app after a certain period of time, and when it gets to that time, it logs you off that social media app for the time duration you set.

Some of the cool features are:

- You could create device and app usage alerts that notify once you overuse your set specified time.

- You can tap on any app to see app usage statistics weekly or daily.

- You can digitally unplug yourself from your phone using the profile "Taking a Break", and your phone will be unaccessible for the period you set that profile.

I able to track how much time I spent on Whatsapp, and also set a profile alert called "Family Time", During that period I would only to access specific apps I chose and receiving calls from specific numbers I allowed. Every other person gets a call back text, while I see the missed calls I have and text I have if I have any. Read more here >>> https:///Wa8NIm

Nigeria's First Locally Manufactured E-voting machine Unveiled

In a bid to eliminate electoral rigging in elections, The Federal Ministry of Science and Technology has unveiled an electronic voting machine locally made by the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI).

The Minister, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, disclosed that the machine would eliminate the challenges associated with electronic voting in the country, which include the delay in logistics, distribution of electoral materials, ballot box snatching and disparity in results collated at polling centres with those announced by the electoral body.

The machine was first introduced on January 30, 2017. The final product would be handed over to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the National Assembly and the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

The Executive Vice Chairman of NASENI, Prof. Muhammed Haruna explained that the machine could allow the presidential, gubernatorial and National Assembly election results to be released within some few minutes.

What do you think of this new initiative?, Do you think our votes would count and the coming elections would be free of rigging? Read more Here https:///XV0vSl

You probably have budgeted a certain amount to buy an andriod smartphone, and you have been saving for it since the beginning of the year. Now it's time to get the device and you are probably confused. You want quality that meets what you have. With the dollar playing highlife with the economy, and prices of things going up but never coming down this feels like a hard decision to make right?

You are not alone, I felt the same way some time ago. Every single kobo of my money had to be worth the device.

You might ask yourself, “Why should I trust these devices?”, here is a quick answer to that, "These devices are brands that have been identified with offering sophistication, quality, affordability, customer service (so we know whose head to break when our devices get bad #justkidding), and high user review rates online (check nairaland).

You would be more than happy you made the choice (The feeling of holding a new device is non compared to the smell of party jollof rice)

I have a rounded up a list of 10 devices for you. which I separated to 5 devices under #50,000 and 5 devices under #100,000, from the lowest price to the highest, all Android devices. I also kept your budget in mind.

Best Android Phones in Nigeria Under #50,000

Although the majority of devices in this price range are still shamelessly logging around just 1GB of RAM and batteries with capacities less than 2500 mAh, there still exists some champs which went against the grain.

Free Wi-Fi in Lagos thanks to Lagos State Government and MainOne.

With the developments going on in Lagos State, thanks to Governor Ambode, the goal of making Lagos State a smart city would be achieved very soon.

The latest being the launch of free public Wi-Fi project at parks and gardens in Lagos in partnership with MainOne. (Who doesn't love free wifi). Last week, one of the already completed public WiFi at the Ndubuisi Kanu Park in Alausa, Ikeja was unveiled. This initiative was kick-started at the popular Ndubisi Kanu Park, Alausa, Ikeja, and is part of activities organised by the State Government to commemorate Lagos State's 50th anniversary.

Good news Lagosians, @Taxify_ng has lowered its ride rates in Lagos to be more affordable Read to know why!! https:///pn6JVH

chronique:

As in eh, that their surge language is what I don't understand. I once spent 8,700 from egbeda to Abraham adesanya(lekki),and spent 6,500 on the return journey on the same trip, totalling roughly 16k. The thing wey pain me pass be say the babe wey I go see nor even make the trip worthwhile(giving me silly attitude). At the end of the day, I had to remind myself that it's my blood I'm using to work for the money and I have not been using them as often as I used to. The most painful one was a trip from Ikeja to Marina that cost 6k plus... I haven't tried this taxify though.

i am in love with this phone...Ihave always been a die hard fan of Gionee since i first used the GioneeE7...Everyone in my house uses a Gionee phone thanks to me.
eleshin:

I'm a big Fam of Gionee but my problem with them is that they are fond of releasing only inferior versions of their phone into Nigerian Market. It took them more than a year to release m5 plus after they've released it in India. They refused to release m6 plus in Nigeria for one stupid reason best known to them. I'm sure they will still announce that A1 plus is not for Nigerian Market. The M6 I'm using right now is my 5th Gionee phone. I know the problem is one of two things
Either the Nigerian Gionee team are dumb and irrelevant or Gionee itself is a brand that discriminate.
