Hello, my fellow nairalanders... I need some advise on this issue. My rent expired since april 13th. And due to the nature of things, i'm yet to come up wit the renewal.. I've pleaded with him to give me atleast, a month to struggle for the payment. He initially accepted, only for him to send me this message yesterday. Please, is one week's notice not too short? Because i'm yet to raise the money.

nomoless:Complain to their customer care? When it's their staff that runs this p.o.s centers.? I think it's something the higher authorities should get to know. But how can one do that? |
JhimmySpark:Yes. You can withdraw. They will operate it as if you're paying... So, when they will give you 1000 from their personal cash & charge u 1,050 from your card. |
Hello, Nairalanders. I really think this is an issue that the authorities should be aware of. I believe here on nairaland, there are people who are from this local govt. (Ankpa) and people who has stayed there, done business, served or have ideas about the place. In Ankpa, there are only four banks, UBA, First Bank, Unity and Skye banks. UBA and First banks are the two major banks with six (6) ATM machines each. While skye bank has two, unity bank has one. Now, Unity and skye bank's atm is hardly dispensing. UBA & first banks, with their six ATMs, they hardly load/service their atm machines. (Delibrately). What this banks do, some staff from the banks operate POS services just opposite their banks which they charge a 50 naira commission on every 1000 naira transaction. E.g: if you use the p.o.s to withdraw 10,000, you will be charged 500 naira as their commission. And with them only servicing their ATMs only in the evening, the public has no choice than to use the P.O.S. because if you go into the bank to withdraw, they will ask you to use the atm if you're withdrawing below 50,000 knowing fully well there's no money in the atm. The long queue at the atm always leads to arguements and fights. And with this trend continuing, i ask, where is Nigeria heading to? The Govt. Is not helping matters and the banks are making life difficult for their customers with their hard earned money. Something has to be done.
