Thank you but yesterday I asked my brother to try it. He did not have much time, so he only tried one song of one CD and it worked. When he will have enough time we will see if the others work as well and copy them.

I still don't know what CVL is and why my drive does not accept the CDs.

I just have tried oyb's suggestions and installed the DBpower amp CD ripper. But that did not work either. All my other players like Nero Show time, Real Player, Power DVD are not able to play those CDs, so I think it is not a software problem but a hardware problem of my drive.
But thank you for your answers though.

Well, at first I have to say that I made a mistake in my last message, I wrote VCL instead of CVL. I have corrected it above.

To your questions: I don't know the speed of the CD, they are not copied CDRs, but original music CDs, in this case Becky Enyioma - Can't loose it, Manny Eke - Manny-festation and Gbemileke - Gbemileke. And they have this CVL-inscription. But I don't know if that is the reason why I cannot play them.
I usually use Windows Media Player, but those CDs don't work on my Real Player or Nero Show Time, either.

My drive is called MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-831S.

I can send you some songs. Just ask which you wanna have.

Hello. I have a problem: I have some music CDs of my friend, but they cannot be played on the PC. At first I thought the problem was that the CDs are scratched. Many of my friend's CDs are scratched so that some songs crack and are interrupted. But there are 3 unplayable CDs which are not scratched so much in comparison to others which can be played. Then I realized that there is the inscription CVL on those 3 CDs. Well, what is this, why can the PC not play this and can I do anything to solve the problem?

More questions to songs and singers of the CD: But I think as well that here is a writing mistake because I did not find anything to the titel on google:

Is Paye (or similar) a Nigerian or from Ghana? And is the song titel "I and my sheed" right?

Is Raytan T (or similar) a Nigerian or from Ghana? And is the song titel "Notin de per" right? Here I guess it shall be "Nottin de pa".

So far, I have found out the first one: It is "Praye" from Ghana and the song "I and my shordy".

I have another question: There is a song on one of the CDs of my friend which is called "No shaking", but the singer of group is only shortened to Del.. Can anybody tell me the whole name?

Well, it seems that there are so many, many mistakes concerning the writing of the names of the singers and songs on those CD of my friend that it is sometimes hard to find out the right title or singer.
There are missing letters, wrong letters, or letters too much. All in all many, many mistakes, and I wonder why the producers of the CDs don't write the names and titles correctly.

Furthermore I have the following problem: I am copying my friend's CDs, but they are scratched so much that many of the songs cannot be played correctly, there are - how can I say that - many cracks,  I hope you know what I mean. Some songs are broken so much that they even cannot be copied.
Perhaps, you could help me: If you want you can contact me on MSN messenger and share songs with me. Perhaps you have some of the songs which are broken or as well others for me.

Hello,  I am from Germany. I have a "problem":
Well, I have a CD with some songs sung by various singers from Nigeria and Ghana. I know some Nigerian singers but, of course, not so many. So, concerning some of the singers on the CD, I don't know if he/she is Nigerian or from Ghana (uhhh,  what is the adjective, ?)
Furthermore, there are many writing mistakes on the CD. So I am not sure if the following name is right. I guess that it is wrong because I did not found anything on google for it. But perhaps you can help me though with the following information.

Can you tell me if Djtnee is a Nigerian or from Ghana? The song is called Ego.
