The typical Nigerian is religious but not spiritual. My church, headquartered in the United States, sent a memo to all members and leaders worldwide requesting that there should be no church meeting/worship of any sort till further notice. Members have been asked to worship at home on Sunday's starting from the past Sunday. In addition we have been advised to avoid large social gatherings as much as possible. The whites brought religion to Africa and right now, they are doing the needful. Remember na only person wet dey alive fit serve God. |
Question to the FG: Which is more important? Shutting down the airports to international arrivals or preventing people from travelling out to covid-19 plagued countries? Average intuition tell me that the former is a more sensible course of action. People can travel to high risk countries if they want to so long as they are not allowed in back (due to barred incoming flights). Common sense, they say, is not really common. |
A welcome development provided that they will be well paid for their teaching duties. Besides, they need reorientation and some sort of retraining because some of them may not have taught outside their teaching practice experience as education students. Also, education graduate does not necessarily equals effective teacher. Having read education (Chemistry), I wouldn't want to work outside the school environment provided that my take home is decent enough to meet my individual and familial needs. But sadly, such is not the case in Nigeria, hence some education graduates, passionate about teaching, find themselves jostling for jobs in other sectors. |
Footballers largely live in isolation due to their celebrity statuses, yet the virus somehow finds a way to locate them, this is serious. The way this situation is going, even empty stadium games will be put to a halt. The 2019/20 football season may be brought to a premature end. |
