I will consider this topic to be  giving half information about tyre pressure, before you ask the question of tyre pressure, are you using the recommended tyre type (all terrain, performance,special,snow,wet, mud etc) and size? If yes then issue of using correct pressure specification on your car door will arise, if you look at most commercial buses or for instance Golf 3, which is the common cab down north comes with 13R / 14R tyres, but for safety reasons recommended by our own mechanics through experience have modified the cars suspension and is now a requirement that it must be 15R for all commercials(golf 3 VW).  changing the suspension and tyre size means changing the whole dynamics of the car, either positively or otherwise.
