FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Date: 6th August 2025 Call for Permanent License Revocation of Pilots Involved in Attempted Assassination of Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (KWAM1) We express deep concern and condemnation regarding the reported involvement of Captain Oluranti Ogoyi and First Officer Ivan Oloba in an alleged attempted assassination of legendary Nigerian music icon, Alhaji King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (KWAM1). The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has taken an initial step by suspending the licenses of the two pilots. However, considering the severity and criminal nature of this incident, we strongly urge the NCAA and relevant aviation and security authorities to go further by revoking their licenses permanently and issuing a lifetime ban from any aviation-related activities. Pilots hold one of the highest responsibilities in modern society. They are entrusted with the lives of passengers and the safety of national and international airspace. As such, they are required to maintain peak physical, mental, and emotional stability at all times. In this case, the behaviour exhibited by these two individuals reflects a serious breach of professional ethics, and raises urgent concerns about their judgment, mental fitness, and moral compass. Their actions have endangered not just one individual but the entire credibility of Nigeria’s aviation safety standards. It is imperative that swift and strong action is taken not only to serve justice but also to deter any such future misconduct within the aviation sector. We call on the NCAA, aviation stakeholders, and law enforcement agencies to ensure that Captain Oluranti Ogoyi and First Officer Ivan Oloba are permanently removed from the profession, and prosecuted accordingly if found guilty through due process. This is a critical opportunity to show that Nigeria takes aviation safety and human life seriously. Let us act decisively before tragedy strikes. Signed: Vibrant Justice International VJI

Join the Alubarika Movement TODAY! The economic state of Osun has deteriorated significantly, leaving much to be desired. Since November 2022, the governance trajectory under the PDP - Adeleke's administration has been marked by declining performance and weakening fiscal stability. The Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) is alarmingly poor, riddled with inefficiencies and systemic leakages that divert public funds into private hands. Distressingly, Osun now lags behind Ekiti State in critical metrics such as fiscal discipline, financial policy, IGR growth, governance standards, and adherence to due process. The economic framework inherited by this administration in 2022 was both robust and strategically designed, providing a solid foundation for growth and prosperity. Osun is endowed with vast economic assets, including the gold reserves in Ijeshaland, thriving palm oil production in Ayedade local government, expansive cocoa plantations in Ife and Ibokun, and fertile land for plantain cultivation in Owena-Ijesha and Ikire. Additionally, the state boasts a resourceful civil service and numerous latent opportunities yet to be harnessed. Our proposed Alubarika Economic Resuscitation and Development Agenda is a comprehensive blueprint for revitalizing Osun’s economy. By leveraging our extensive national and global partnerships and networks, we aim to unlock the state’s vast potential, combat poverty, and create sustainable employment opportunities. This strategy will involve strategic resource optimization, fostering private-public partnerships, and tapping into international investment streams. Our approach emphasizes transformative governance, leveraging best practices in resource management, economic diversification, and social inclusion. The gold sector, agro-industrial expansion, and infrastructural development will serve as pillars of our economic revival. Moreover, we are committed to eradicating unemployment and poverty by deploying innovative policies and targeted initiatives. Osun people will be happy, once again. The Alubarika Agenda represents a paradigm shift in governance, driven by expertise, capacity, and a clear vision for a prosperous Osun. Join the movement to restore the state’s economic glory and secure a brighter future for all. Together, we can achieve sustainable development and collective prosperity. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61572688290954

Nigeria will be great under Tinubu –Erinle 30th June 2023 By Sunday Ani A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a former lawmaker in Ekiti, Segun Erinle has said the country will be great under a Tinubu Presidency. In this interview, Erinle spoke on issues bordering on Ekiti and the Country at large. What in your view were the lessons learnt from the last general elections? Let me say it clear and loud that was the best election in the history of this country. My party won because we went into the election as a united party; the disunity in the PDP gave us the Victory, they(PDP members) split their votes into three which favoured us( APC).The first lesson learnt is that you don’t go into a major Election as a divided party. People may say there was friction in the APC but the issue was internal problem, more so, it was not blown out of proportion, unlike what happened in the PDP whereby Peter Obi took the entire votes of South East, Musa Kwankwaso got Kano votes and the G5 governors did not help matters. The division in the PDP assisted us to secure Victory. But they are in court challenging the election results? Our problem in Nigeria is inability to accept defeat, even when we know we failed woefully in an election. I want to believe our people behave like that because it brightens the hope of their followers, it gives false hope to the followers that there is still opportunity for them to claim the mandate they have lost. You know election petitions take about six to nine months to complete and while the case lasted, their followers would be with the impression that all hopes are not lost. At last, when the Petitions are dismissed they now resort to blaming the Judiciary. What are your expectations from Senator Bola Tinubu’s administration ? We expect a change of direction from the new government headed by Bola Tinubu because he seems to be the first Nigerian President that planned for the office than any other elected politician in the history of our country. He should make restructuring of the country a top priority, unity of the country, security and provision of infrastructural amenities to kick-start our economy. Youth Employment should be another key area. What is your assessment of the immediate past regime, headed by President Muhammadu Buhari? To be fair to that administration, I believe Buhari tried his best but the insecurity situation in the country overwhelmed his administration. The insecurity situation made all what could have been regarded as his achievement to come to nought. The major duty of government in power is provision of security for its citizens. Ekiti State governor has spent over 200 days in office without appointing cabinet members, what could have been responsible for that? The impression you gave is not correct. There is a cabinet in place but not in full as provided for in the Constitution. I think the government is making a move to complete the appointments soon. Recently, an Appointment Committee was put in place to consider people for various positions; is that legal? The governor of a state can appoint people to manage his appointment procedure; there is nothing illegal about that. The committee you mentioned had requested each Local Govt to submit names which is Legal and within the procedure. Do you think such procedure is the right way; do the youth and women have opportunity in this process? On women, there is an existing law in the state that certain percentage should be given to women when making appointments, hence, it is in order for inclusion of women as our law provides for it. The governor campaigned that his government will include youths, so it is in order to include youths, in order to fulfill the governor’s Campaign Agenda. One thing is always clear in all policies; there are advantages and Disadvantages. What do you see as the advantages and disadvantages in the govt’s policy? Inclusion of grassroots in policy making is a very good advantage. The disadvantages are the fact that those responsible to nominate may use it to score political points and settle rift amongst rivalry groups within the party. You can see the protest in some Local Government areas in the state but thank God the people mandated by the governor to carry out the exercise in the state are experienced politicians who understand the state very well and at the end of the day, they will do a very good job. Your governor Oyebanji has started receiving accolades from people of your state; some with the impression that his achievements may surpass that of his predecessor, Dr.Fayemi, what is your view on this? Our People don’t understand certain things, l remember when Fashola took over from Tinubu in Lagos, people were saying similar things; that’s one of the advantages of continuity in govt. There is no major difference in both governments apart from style of governance. Fayemi has his own style which differs from Oyebanji but when we talk of governance, it’s the same. Does it mean Oyebanji is building on the foundation laid by Fayemi? Yes of course. Was Governor Biodun Oyebanji not the SSG of Fayemi. It’s the same government, which is an offshoot of our Progressive Governor, Otunba Niyi Adebayo. Governor Oyebanji is the 4th Term of Otunba Niyi Adebayo and the third Term of Governor Kayode Fayemi so, in essence, the current governor is concluding the 4th Term of the Progressive family in Ekiti. What is your assessment of Governor Fayemi’s administration then? He did his best and brought governance in Ekiti to the limelight; he increased the state Internally Generated Revenue IGR by at least 75 percent, which showed that governance is a serious business; he encouraged Ekiti indigenes outside the state to contribute their quota to Ekiti development. He will always remain my person any time any day. He loves Ekiti and ready to do more for the state to develop. What were his weaknesses when he governed the state? There is no human being without a weakness, some of the weaknesses people say about him includes not picking calls or responding to mails and refusing to speak out his mind on political issues. All those weaknesses are human but the only thing he did that l will continue to say is after returning to office for the second term, he should have invited his Elected Assembly members in the first term and apologised to them for the ill treatment meted out to them by Governor Fayose and paid all their outstanding salaries and allowances which Fayose denied them. This is because government is a continuum. I am aware that he paid some Civil Servants, that were sacked illegally by Governor Fayose but l expect similar things to be done to the elected Assembly members who were in office when he served his first term. As l said earlier, he’s human and nobody is perfect in life except God. What are the expectations of people of Ekiti from Oyebanji? The people of Ekiti expect a lot from the governor because the state is a Civil Servant State -regular Payment of salaries to stimulate the economy, building infrastructure to promote investments and inviting core investors to the state. The governor has started well with the prompt payment of salaries and road construction; the Developmental Plan on Ekiti free zone will help to stimulate the state’s economy and l expect a lot to be achieved during the first term. The slogan TOKAN TOKAN that was adopted during the election seems to have been laid to rest l did mention earlier that there is nothing like Tokan Tokan in politics, what we have is current interest. People will be your fan only if they know you can influence things to favour them. As soon as you leave office, people forget you. Those so called Tokan Tokan advocates at the time are now the major critics of government in place now, but thank God for the new governor; he knows them and continues to put them where they belong. Are you scheming for any appointment? The party in govt is my party, so I am not an outcast in the government. The mistake many people make is that you ought to be holding a position in the cabinet before you can contribute your quota to governance. I teach students free of charge in my local Primary and secondary schools; I am also contributing to governance that way. It’s the prerogative of the governor to choose whom he wants to work with. I have a role as a party man to support the governor and his government in or out of government. That’s the way l see governance. Recently, there was an invitation by the EFCC to Fayemi, don’t you see this as an indictment to the administration he ran? A petition was submitted to the EFCC; it’s the duty of the anti graft agency to investigate all petitions submitted to it hence, in the course of investigations, they have a right to invite the governor to ask questions based on the petition before it. One thing many petition writers don’t understand is how governments are being operated. Many believe that state monies are in the hands of the governor and he spends as he likes, forgetting there are due processes to be followed when spending govt funds. Who could have petitioned EFCC? The governor like others have many enemies, so you cannot rule out many writing petitions against him for one reason or the other but all l know is that he will triumph because he worked for the benefit of Ekiti people. Many see you as one of his allies? Well, people do assume; what I can say is that he dragged me into Ekiti politics and my constituency cannot say they have not benefitted from me playing politics in terms of many infrastructural facilities facilitated to the constituency from 2010 to date; so l am grateful to him.

The director general of Tinubu Support Organization, Aminu Suleiman, has declared that his group has never collected a dime from the National Leader of the APC and presidential aspirant, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. Suleiman in an interview on Wednesday said he started his support for Tinubu three years ago without expecting any financial reward. “I want you to quote me that I said I have never received any money for what I’m doing for Asiwaju.”On the exit of the Abdulmumini Jubrin From Tinubu’s campaign group, Suleiman said it won’t have any effect on the campaign. He, however, urged the south west to support Tinubu to get the ticket and win for the APC. Suleiman said what the south west did against the late sage, Obafemi Awolowo and later MKO Abiola should not be allowed to happen to Asiwaju. He also urged the Vice President Prof Yemi Osinbajo Who’s also contesting to be president to retrace his step and support Asiwaju. The Vice President is a Pastor and should ask for forgiveness. He’s using the slot of Asiwaju. President Muhammadu Buhari once asked Osinbajo not to betray Tinubu. He told him that it’s because of the need to ensure religious balancing that he was invited, otherwise, nothing qualifies him for the position”. He said.Suleiman said Asiwaju Tinubu started the development of Lagos state moving the IGR from N600million in 1999 to N9 billion before he left in 2007, today, Lagos monthly IGR is N45 billion. He also improved the security architecture of the state. They should allow him to do same at the national level.

BAFEM: The Most Qualified Candidate Across Board to Take Ekiti State to The Next Level ….. Ekiti Diaspora For BAFEM. A group of Ekiti State Indigenes in the Diaspora who are interested in good Governance, have thrown their weight and support behind Hon. Richard Olufemi Bamisile (aka BAFEM), the current APC member of the Federal House of Representatives (Ekiti South II Constituency). The group is rooting for Hon. Bamisile, as the most competent aspirant across board to take over the State from the current incumbent (Dr. Kayode Fayemi), and lead Ekiti State to greater heights. The Group (Ekiti Diaspora for BAFEM) which consists of Professionals cutting across the State Geo-Political Zones, made this statement at the end of their meeting held in London, on 4th January 2022. The Chairman and Convenor of the Group, Mr. Adetokunbo Layokun, in a press release, said the group came to this decision based on the following facts: Firstly, Ekiti South Senatorial Zone has not produced a Governor since the Creation of the State. Since the creation of Ekiti State 25 years ago, on 1st of October 1996, the South Senatorial Zone of the state has not produced a Governor, despite having competent Indigenes. Meanwhile, the North and Central Zones, have produced two Governors each: Governors Adebayo and Oni – from the North, and Governors Fayose and Fayemi – from the Central respectively, to fill the coveted seat. The Marginalisation of the South Senatorial Zone they said was contrary to the Unwritten Zoning Agreement of the APC Founding Fathers, which has been restated by Governor El Rufai (Kaduna State) and Senator Chris Ngige (APC Founding Member and Current Minister for Labour and Employment), which according to both were adhered to by the APC (Ruling Party) at ALL Levels (Federal/State/Local Government) of Governance by the Party. They said this is the reason why there is a clamour by faithful Party Members that the next President to succeed current President Buhari (Northerner) must be a Southerner; hence, for Equity, Justice and Fair-Play, it is now time for the State’s South Senatorial Zone to produce the next Governor in the coming Ekiti Gubernatorial Election 2022. Secondly, based on the issue of Competence, the Group agrees that Hon. Richard Olufemi Bamisile is the most competent Candidate of ALL the Aspirants vying for the coveted seat under the Platform of the APC. According to Mr. Adetokunbo Layokun, Hon. Bamisile is a grassroot politician who is familiar with the Political Terrain of the state, having served at various levels of Government; among which are: Special Adviser on Internally Generated Revenue to the Chairman, Surulere Local Government, Lagos State (2001/2002). Liaison Officer of Ekiti House Lagos (2003). Special Assistant (General Duties) to the Governor of Ekiti state. Member Ekiti State House of Assembly (2003). Ekiti East Local Government Congress Committee Member (2003–2014). Member Ekiti State House of Assembly (2007/2009). Ekiti State Gubernatorial Strategy Committee Member (2007). Ekiti State Transition Committee Member (2007). PDP National-Lagos State Congress Committee Member (2007). PDP National-Kwara State Congress Committee Member (2007). Ekiti State Appointments Committee Member (2007). Ad-Hoc Governors Strategic Committee Member (2007). Ekiti State Senatorial Congress Committee Member (2008). Ekiti State Congress Committee Member (2008). Ekiti State Local Government Chairmanship Candidates Screening Committee Member (2008). Ekiti State local Government Elections Committee Member (2008). Ekiti State Gubernatorial Re-Run Elections Committee Member (2009). Ekiti State Commissioners Selection Committee Member (2009). Ekiti State Visitation Panel on Local Government activities Member (2009). Thirdly, on Leadership, the Group stated that Hon. Femi Bamisile has always exhibited leadership qualities and is a Tested General, who held the fort for the ruling APC after it was defeated at the Polls in 2014. The then Governor Fayose had waged a bitter War against ALL APC Chieftains, elected House Members and Executives of the Party, resulting in the Abandonment of the Ship (exile) and almost total Annihilation of the Party in the State. Hon. Bamisile was the only visible APC Chieftain who remained in the State to rally party members, not to abandon the Ship, by giving them a sense of direction and purpose. Hon. Bamisile rebuilt the Party by investing funds, and touring the entire states’ 177 Wards and 137 Towns, on four (4) different occasions. He also served as the ‘Lone’ Opposition Voice, holding the PDP Government accountable for their actions. Hon. Bamisiles’ impressive Leadership Pedigree, include: Ag. Chairman of Ekiti State Sports Commission (2006). Speaker Ekiti State House of Assembly (2007/2009). Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) left to support Governor Kayode Fayemi’s 2nd Term Gubernatorial Ambition (2014). As APC Chieftain, worked and supported President Muhammadu Buhari’s Presidential Ambition (2015). Chairman 9th House of Representative Committee on FERMA Aspirant All Progressive Congress (APC) Ekiti State Gubernatorial election (2018). Fourthly, with reference to Youth and Women Development, Mr. Adetokunbo Layokun stated that the Group commended Hon. Bamisile, for his tireless and unrelenting love for the Youth and Women of Ekiti State. The Group lauded Hon. Bamisile for his Sponsorship of the BAFEM Cup, a Football Competition organised by the Ekiti State Football Association to develop the footballing skills of Ekiti Youths, discover new talents, and determine the State Football Champion. They also praised BAFEM for the provision of various Incentives to women in the state (Sewing Machines, Generators, Grinding Machines, Cooking Gases etc) to help them set up small cottage businesses to sustain their families. On the fifth point of Education, Human and Capital Development, BAFEM was also praised for embarking on various Education, Human and Capital Development Projects in the State that are unrivalled by his competitors. The Group cited various projects, amongst which are: Construction of new and renovation of existing Classroom Buildings Retraining of Teachers in Ekiti East Local Government Council Secured over 170 Jobs and Securing another 30 Appointments for Ekiti Graduates at Federal Levels Provision of Farming Tools and Fertilizers worth over N200Million for Farmers Construction of Roads and Drainages in the State to Ease People, Goods and Services and flow of Water to prevent Flooding. Training of shortlisted candidates on the use and maintenance of Solar Street Lights in Ekiti East Local Government Council. Installation of Solar Street Lights in Ekiti East Local Government Council. Touching on Social Welfare Packages, Mr Layokun stated that the Group, ‘Ekiti in Diaspora for BAFEM’, are in full support of Hon. Femi Bamisile because of his genuine feeling of empathy and compassion, for the less privileged and the needy. They pointed to the following Welfare Projects, amongst others: Fuelling bike riders (offering free fuel from time to time in the State) Distribution of Covid-19 Pandemic Palliatives to ease the financial hardships faced by Ekiti Ketes at home (Lockdown depleted businesses). Provision of Ambulance Service Vehicles and tricycles (to attend to wounded persons and provide Life-saving services). Concluding the press statement, the Chairman of ‘Ekiti in Diaspora for BAFEM’, Mr. Layokun, further appealed to the State Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, to ‘seize this opportunity to have his Name written out in Gold, by ensuring that the most competent candidate among the aspirants (in this case, Hon. The South West APC has commended Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State for his advocacy for the shift of the Presidential Power to the Southern Nigeria after the tenure of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023. This commendation became necessary because we have shown appreciation to the former Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State, who made similar call recently. We will continue to recognise strong voices in support of Southern Presidency from the Northern Nigeria until one of our own in the South West becomes the President in 2023. We encourage other vocal, credible and influential Northern figures to speak out and be counted. The call for Southern Presidency in 2023 resonated with the Northern masses. None of those Northern Leaders who made the call has been molested by their people. A Consensus of opinion of Northern Leaders in favour of Power shift to the South, particularly South West, is achievable ahead of 2023 Presidency. Governor El-Rufai fired the first salvo in February this year, it didn't capture our attention and fancy at the time he did because it appeared like a political Statement. However, the interview El-Rufai granted, which was published in most of the notable newspapers on Sunday, 9th of August, 2020, where he corroborated his earlier support for the Southern Presidency in stronger terms, with so much passion and conviction, deserves our praises. In the same vein, the South West APC noted with satisfaction the call for Southern Presidency made few days ago by Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume from Borno State. The South West APC sent appreciation to the Elder Statesman, Mallam Mamman Daura whose emphasis for 2023 Presidency was more on merit and capacity. Merit and capacity favour the South West. We have in abundance men and women of intellect, character, competence and capacity to lead Nigeria to prosperity and greatness in 2023.The South West promises Nigerians the best! Signed. Rt.Hon.Asiwaju Karounwi Oladapo Zonal Publicity Secretary, APC, South West Zone. August 10, 2020. |
The APC UK South West States commiserate with the Executive Governors of Ekiti and Osun, Dr. Kayode Fayemi and Governor Gboyega Oyetola and all Afenifere leaders on the demise of our foremost leader Pa Ayo Fasanmi who departed this world at the glorious age of 94. Baba Fasanmi lived a good life, he was elected as a councillor, a member of the House of Representatives, a Senator and was an aspiring governorship candidate in the old Ondo State. Pa Fasanmi was a mentor to many political leaders in the South West of Nigeria, his exemplary life was worthy of emulation by all, he was a quintessential OMOLUABI that we are all proud to be associated with when he was alive and even more in death. It is on record the way he abhors corruption and championed his anti-corruption crusades long before the EFCC was created. Baba Fasanmi was a friend of the young and old, he was easily accessible and always willing to share his experience with the younger politicians. He will be sorely missed by the progressives’ family and entire Nigerians. We pray God in his infinite mercies give the immediate family the fortitude to bear the loss of Pa Ayorinde Fasanmi. May his soul Rest in Peace. Signed: Hon. Andrew Taiwo Hon. Muyiwa Adesua Secretary Chairman (For and on behalf of APC UK South West States Caucus) http://africanotrumpeters.com/ayo-fasanmi-apc-uk-southwest-states-mourns-says-he-was-quintessential-omoluabi/?fbclid=IwAR21ET0cK2tSh4USS8DW_KKG7G97IdrA5PLEjcLui9pXP5o1NajN5yqT3s0

Brandonx:Calm down and re read. Most tales as we have them in the bible too will make no sense if you summarily dismiss all without calming down and read. This story as told by the monarch must have been passed from generation to generation orally. The dog helped rescued the daughter of the Alaafin by hunting for the Okete(bush meat) needed to prepare what healed her. when the king returned back to his domain, people were praising the king but not the dog, the dog was being thrown bones instead of proper food, it got angry and voiced like a human and ran out, while the people chased it, it turned to a stone which the people of the town now worship. *PS Dogs returning from Irag/Afaghanistan wars in the USA And UK now get medals on their return back home, when they die, they are buried with full honours. |
