TheKingIsHere:Go back and read my post c-a-r-e-f-u-l-l-y. I have not disagreed with you in anyway. However read this: https://vocal.media/geeks/just-who-has-creative-control-of-spider-man Sony indeed have FINAL creative control. FINAL greenlight authority (which i said in my last post). Disney/Marvel however handle the casting, script etc. It's like doing your assignment and submitting to the teacher for approval. I can't say about others, but i knew that Nick fury was going to show up in IW.I said Iron Man 1, not IW Well, we will see at the endOK. All franchises have a formula. Still don't see how its a big deal when it comes to the MCU. Take Indiana Jones for instance: puzzle solving, villain being killed by the film's main artifact etc |
Blackspider:Good for you. I'm all for subjectivity. The problem however arises when people mistake their subjective opinions for facts. Which brings me to point i'm trying to make: Disney destroyed Hulk, Spiderman, Drax etc FOR YOU. |
Blackspider:1. Comics are the source material. Animations are adaptations therefore they don't count 2. You do realize that there have been tons of Hulk iterations by various comic writers in the past 50+ years (earths 616, 1610 etc). Each with his own personality. Given your low interest in Hulk comics, how certain are you that you're not exhibiting selection bias? |
TheKingIsHere:LoL! The same wiki you linked goes on to state that the Sony head honchos have FINAL greenlight authority over the films and defer creativity to Marvel. We can reconcile this one of two ways 1. There's a contradiction 2. You didn't fully understand what you read on the page. And it was getting predictable because we all knew that Nick fury will appear at a point. Most people didn't know actually. There's a reason that post-credits scene is one of the MCU's best. There is nothing wrong with humour, and i undersatnd MCU needs humour to keep fans happy, but making everything a joke or humorous is an issue. The formula works for Feige and the lot so clearly its not as big an issue as it may seem to you |
Blackspider:I guess that answers the question then. You're clearly not a fan of the Hulk. But if that's the case, how then do you judge his portrayal in the movies as being bad if you're not too familiar with the source materials? |
TheKingIsHere:OK. If you say so. This is as a result of Sony's idea NOT Disney. Disney rarely do suchI'm pretty sure the 2015 contract required that Disney had FULL creative control over Spiderman films in the MCU while Sony handled distribution. Do you have evidence that a Sony executive initiated that plot twist? Anyways, what of Nick Fury's appearance at the end of Iron Man? Or Thanos at the end of Avengers 1? I am glad you agree that it is a recurring feature. When something/feature reoccurs, it is also know to be repetitious which still means monotonous and buttress what I have been sayingI still fail to see how any of this is bad though. Humor is a very trivial detail in MCU films. If anything, it has only kept fans more engaged with the subtle references, easter eggs and whatnot. |
TheKingIsHere:My apologies if the comparison irked you. I'm just bored of every Joe talking about the "MCU" and I'm just wondering what the "DCEU" has done that makes it any more better. The MCU phase 1 was not a major riskLike I said, you have to define risk. Marvel in 2008 had only their unknowns to make movies with. Just look up on the history of the first Iron Man. Not to mention RDJ was one of the most derided actors at the time. being monotonous is no strength as overtime people already know what to expect.Homecoming wasn't much different tonally from other MCU films. But no expected the Vulture to turn out as Liz's dad. At the end the so called spy, space adventure, war movie ended up being comedic. So? That's just a recurring feature. It's still different genres or inspirations. |
Blackspider:Out of curiousity, how many Hulk comics have you read? |
Blackspider:This is not even remotely true. LoL. As for the Hulk thing, i know many peeps both IRL and on the internet that loved his portrayal in Ragnarok especially. Couldn't that just be proof of differing tastes and expectations from movies? Quit talking in absolutes. |
TheKingIsHere:I guess Winter Soldier did not just have the complexity and maturity of Shazam Disney on the other hand doesn't want to take risk and do things that are innovative and different.Define risk. MCU Phase 1 was a risk. AntMan was a risk. GOTG likewise. the MCU style is now getting too monotonousI think Infinity War proves that being "monotonous" can be a strength more than a weakness. Otherwise, it should have flopped tonewise if all the characters being juggled were all tonally abstract from each other. See BVS for reference. In as much as the MCU has a formula, i could still argue that, First Avenger= war movie Ant Man= heist movie (like Ocean's Eleven) Winter Soldier= Bourne-esque spy film Guardians= space adventure (like Star wars) MCU movies in my opinion are various genres that just happen to be CBMs |
TheKingIsHere:Did you by chance read the original 60s Hulk comics? Ragnarok's version of Hulk was easily the best film version to date. A lot of people loved him. The way he started punching himself in the quinjet was kind of emotional to be honest. It was if Banner and Hulk were punching themselves, a great way to relate to Stan Lee's original ideas surrounding one's self worthlesness. At the end of the day, to each his own. But its pretty weird to take one person's opinion as justification for the supposed objectivity of yours. It's called confirmation bias. |
TheKingIsHere:LoL! And yet the franchise is a Hollywood behemoth. If the formula works, then why bother changing it? Much respect for Scorcese though. |

XxSabrinaxX:Am good as always, sis. These days, am more of a lurker than a poster, but i still follow the forums though. Caught you in the religion section last week trashing some christians. LoL! Don't know who's more retarded: DCtards or Christards ![]() |
shadeyinka:Right back at you |
TheArranger:He's dying to have the last word just so he can give people the (false) impression that he is making sense. People like him full NL. They believe they are right no matter what and will argue with you to the bitter end, even if it is a petty argument with no value. |
LordReed:LWKMD ![]() https://i.imgflip.com/1p0odd.jpg |
TheArranger:LMFAO. The guy is a bare faced liar. His posts in this thread not only lack logic, they are extremely fallacious. He's just parroting arguments he has seen elsewhere, but was too ignorant to recognise as fallacious. Sabrina keeps turning him out but he just keeps on lying to try and save face. It's so obvious. I applaud everyone on this thread who was risked his/her IQ to debate this fraud. He's not prepared to stop lying and trolling. Most religious apologetics become tedious after a while, because of their level of close-mindedness, but his level of idiotic ignorance is a pointless waste of bandwidth. This is why I don't debate christians because they don't seem to understand what an argument from ignorance fallacy is |
shadeyinka:And now the scientist has departed and the true religious dogmatist rears his head. LoL!. You just mad you can't prove ur Jehovah even with all ur physics. Olodo oponu. LMFAO! ![]() My 100L physics is good enough for you: you are angry you couldn't find COPY-PASTE to answer for your folly! SMH!Who's sounding mad now? . I don't need to debate you after what you've been through already in this thread. Dat na double wahala 4 dead bodi . Ogbeni go and claim your Nobel. If u like insult me 4rm morning till night, you still can't prove your Jehovah ![]()
|
shadeyinka:Spoken like a true christard. LoL! Ogbeni, quit sucking your own dick. I don't even need to debate. Let no man deceive you, dem don dey school ur dumbass tey tey i just dey here dey laugh u .Go grab ur nobel award and stop claiming Ph.D in Physics on Nairaland .cc. MJBOLT come take a look at this loser. LMFAO |
shadeyinka:LoL! Are you done sucking your own dick? ![]()
|
LordReed:I swear @bolded. I've had a few back and forths with stubborn christians in the past and after a while, i realised its of no use really. They push arguments of deist god and use it conclude that their favourite monotheistic god exists. The most frustrating part is that they'll view your lack of response as a victory for themselves and a defeat of you, even though their arguments are just too stupid to respond to. LoL ![]() |
LordReed:You sure know how to put up with nonsense. I admire all you guys' patience. These christians are complete frauds. If they know so much about the universe, why have they not obtained their Nobel awards. @shadeyinka, all that physics and you still can't prove your Jehovah. Wetin u gain? |

Just watched Far From Home. I'd say Homecoming is a bit stronger , tighter film. Then again , SMHC didn't have to deal with as much baggage going into it as SMFFH did. SMFFH had to sort of reset the table as the result of Endgame from SMHC and deal with: the blip, the fact that they didn't age , Stark's death, the status quo of Peter and MJ inbetween the end of SMHC and the beginning of SMFFH, and the school field trip all, in the first act , as opposed hitting the ground running as most part 2s tend to do. Those things effected the pacing a bit I suspect I'd give SMHC is an A , and SMFFH is an A-, so both films are good Spiderman films. Both have their strengths and weaknesses, but I think i'd give the edge to SMHC. But again, they're both good Spiderman films . |
[/color]So I heard Marvel's still better than DC ![]() |
JujuSugar:LoL! Please explain CosmicPhoenix hulk616 |
JujuSugar:Which version of Thanos please? |
The Abduction of Zack Butterfield /10Came accross a lot of reviews seriously destroying this film but got interested and decided to download and watch anyway for fun. Felt like this film wanted to give me malaria cause i was getting a headache trying to understand how they managed to blend such abysmal actors and terrible dialogue to produce such a shìtfest. I have no experience in filmmaking but i bet could never make a film this painfully bad even if i tried ![]() |
CosmicPhoenix:The DCEU was always dead on arrival. Imagine the amount of awesome DC Comics moments that have been wasted on film. And DCtards will still masturbate on it. The Death of Superman, Dark Knight Returns Superman vs Batman fight. The literal dream of millions of fanboys and just general pop culture worldwide. Wasted. Assembly of the Suicide Squad, Introduction of the New Gods and Darkseid. Forming the Justice League... The DCEU is a hot mess. LMFAO! ![]() |
