Will Alhaji Lai Mohammed Ever Say The Truth?. By Simeon Nwakaudu, Abuja. Frankly speaking, I am not sure I know the spelling of Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress ( APC ). Some spell it in a manner that is unbecoming. This unprintable spelling has made it difficult for some of us to know the actual spelling. I am not sure I got the spelling right. Whatever the case, please pardon me. Lai Mohammed has not helped his case. Despite being an elder, he is allergic to the truth. It is almost impossible for Lai Mohammed to issue a factual press statement. Even though his party has won, Lai's penchant for lies is mind boggling. Even when the truth stares Lai in the face, he lies. This compulsive elderly penchant to lying is a major challenge to our democracy. I was shocked that Lai Mohammed is defending the indefensible as regards the partisanship of the new Director General of the DSS, Lawal Daura who is a proven member of the APC. Lai Mohammed challenged the PDP to provide evidence that Daura is a card carrying member of the DSS. Thank God Nigerians from all walks of life, outside the PDP have supplied watertight proofs that Daura is not only a member of the APC, but one of their principal strategists who headed their intelligence arm during the campaigns. APC publications, cards and group photographs have been tendered. They are no longer secrets. Lai in his lying tendencies would offer one of his outlandish excuses and explanations. Of course, expect their media partners to downplay this national scandal that has questioned the very intentions of President Muhammadu Buhari in appointing Daura, his kinsman. The media partners of the APC, the compromised vocal lot have list all conscience and credibility. They lie to Nigerians just to curry the favour of Lai Mohammed and his very rich sponsors. The manner Daura has used the DSS to intimidate and hunt democratic institutions proves that he was handed a negative blueprint. Never has it been heard that the DSS has been deployed to arrest and detain officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC ) simply because the ruling party lost elections in two oil rich states. The DSS has now been turned into an institution of blackmail, harassment and political manipulation, just because an APC member with ulterior motive has been given an ungodly mandate. The DSS now intimidates tribunal Members hoping that they would be threatened to deliver fictional judgments. The DSS in league with the Lai Mohammeds of this world bandy figures to impugn the character of those who served the nation meritoriously. We know Lai Mohammed lacks the capacity to be truthful. But for the sake of Nigeria, he should stay of the ugly case of Lawal Daura. The DSS as a national institution should be protected from evil machinations that will jeopardise the nation’s democracy. Urgent steps must be taken to help the DSS recover from the damage done to it in the last few weeks under Lawal Daura. This man cannot be fair to all Nigerians. He cannot protect those who are not members of the APC. Daura is already being used to attack members of the Rivers and Akwa Ibom Governorship Election Tribunals. He is busy detaining and harassing the Resident Electoral Commissioners of Rivers and Akwa Ibom States to force them into changing their reports. This man should be redeployed to the APC national secretariat. In the alternative, the President can nominate him as a Minister representing Katsina State. The post of the Director of DSS should be reserved for serving officers of the service. It is regrettable that the DSS has been turned into a home of patronage. A place we're campaign committee officials are rewarded without consideration for national stability and the promotion of the rule of law. With the overwhelming evidence in the public domain, the President should take the honourable path. His praise singers would try to shout down their voices of reason, but the President must do the right thing Get a more qualified Nigerian presently serving in the DSS and appoint him the substantive DSS Director General. To do otherwise would lay credence to the general belief that he is positioning the DSS to harm Nigeria, her institutions and less powerful individuals. As for Lai Mohammed, let him hold his peace. The campaigns are over and we are no longer interested in his lies. Since he has nothing positive to say, let him keep quiet. |
See how our hard earned money is being shared among the elites why we're all wallowing in mass poverty and hardship. Men are working but are not paid in cash, only with promises which they are never fulfilling. Hmmmm...Naija here we are |

This is a great plan but it'll not be effective now with Boko Haram's modus operandi (throwing bombs). it would have been effective a year or two ago when they were attacking in convoys. |

kestolove95:the Bible condemns homosexuality as an immoral and unnatural sin. Leviticus 18:22 identifies homosexual sex as an abomination, a detestable sin. Romans 1:26-27 declares homosexual desires and actions to be shameful, unnatural, lustful, and indecent. First Corinthians 6:9 states that homosexuals are unrighteous and will not inherit the kingdom of God. Since both homosexual desires and actions are condemned in the Bible, it is clear that homosexuals “marrying” is not God’s will, and would be, in fact, sinful. Whenever the Bible mentions marriage, it is between a male and a female. The first mention of marriage, Genesis 2:24, describes it as a man leaving his parents and being united to his wife. |
kestolove95:What's the difference then? Whether they practice it for pleasure or political powers or rituals. They're all engaging in the same act. No justification whatsoever. It appears you have little or no knowledge about gayism. The earlier you realise it's not a Christian thing the better it'll be for your likes. Talking about Islam forbidding or having a strong rule against it [gay] and other immoralities just reminds of what Muslims do in secrets which I won't want to bring to this thread. |

kestolove95:No one disputes that. But is it right for a Christian to be gay? The Bible - the Christian guide speaks vehemently against being gay and so, whoever calls himself a Christian and truly believe in the Bible and practices it should not engage in such acts. It's a sin. |
It’s been a week already, but the upheaval caused by the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling on gay marriage has yet to subside. For most Christians, the week has served as a wake-up call. Our complacency at the sin lurking in our own congregations has led to some much needed introspection, prayer, and Scripture-searching (Psalm 119). To be blunt, we must get our own house in order before we can speak to the cultural and moral decay around us (1 Peter 4:17). We’ve lost our influence because we’ve lost our desire to be holy and set apart (Matthew 5:13;1 Thessalonians 4:3;2 Peter 3:11). In particular, if we are to talk about marriage, we must make sure that our own marriages represent Ephesian 5 covenants first. Then, we can address the problems with the world’s view. But not all Christians have been so shocked or saddened. In fact, many have blithely changed their Facebook profile images to blaze with the colors of the rainbow. They’re glad for the ruling and see no contradiction between the tenants of God’s Word and gay marriage. “If you consider yourself a Bible-believing Christian, a follower of Jesus whose chief aim is to glorify God and enjoy him forever, there are important questions I hope you will consider before joining the rest of the world cheering for the supreme Court ruling 1. How long have you believed that gay marriage is something to be celebrated? 2. What Bible verses led you to change your mind 3. How would you make a positive case from Scripture that sexual activity between two persons of the same sex is a blessing to be celebrated? 4. What verses would you use to show that a marriage between two persons of the same sex can adequately depict Christ and the church? 5. Do you think Jesus would have been okay with homosexual behavior between consenting adults in a committed relationship? 6. If so, why did he reassert the Genesis definition of marriage as being one man and one woman? 7. As you think about the long history of the church and the near universal disapproval of same-sex sexual activity, what do you think you understand about the Bible that Augustine, Aquinas, Calvin, and Luther failed to grasp? 8. What arguments would you use to explain to Christians in Africa, Asia, and South America that their understanding of homosexuality is biblically incorrect and your new understanding of homosexuality is not culturally conditioned? 9. Should your brothers and sisters in Christ who disagree with homosexual practice be allowed to exercise their religious beliefs without fear of punishment, retribution, or coercion? 10. Will you speak up for your fellow Christians when their jobs, their accreditation, their reputation, and their freedoms are threatened because of this issue? For Janet Boynes, however, these questions don’t go far enough. Boynes, a former lesbian, left the homosexual lifestyle when Christ made her new. She doesn’t mince words when she talks about the Bible's definition of marriage: “The Supreme Court cannot redefine what they didn't create. Marriage is a covenant, a sacred bond between a man and a woman instituted by and publicly entered into before God. Marriage is intended to be a lifetime commitment since it was established by God. “Marriage represents a serious vow that should not be entered into lightly or unadvisedly. It involves a solemn promise or pledge, not merely to one's marriage partner, but before God. Marriage is also a human agreement between a man and a woman; it is the most intimate of all human relationships resulting in a ‘one-flesh’ union.” What's your take on this gay marriage issue?
