Wizkid is getting to the pinnacle has the Governor of Minnesota declares Wizkid Day.

The honour comes in for the Starboy all the way from Minnesota, US. Mark Dayton Governor of Minnesota last Saturday, declared October 6 as WIZKID Day!

This honors comes in respect to his several achievements in music and a culture influencer. Some of the feats include making a Billboard number one hit ‘One Dance’ with Drake, selling out the O2 Arena London, walking the runway with Dolce and Gabbana. Others include winning international awards and recently becoming the first African artist to sell out the Skyway Theatre Minneapolis.

An official proclamation was made in that regards bearing the seal of the US state of Minnesota and signed by the Governor.

He also shared how he really started his music career.

He said:

"The first day I actually did "All of me pigdin" cover, students were actually crying. God so kind, it just happened that someone related to the Dean of Student Affairs was in the crowd crying and people was wondering what was making her cry and that was how my Dean gave me money to record my first song that's how i started.

Because normally, you don't expect your dean to support in that manner as he's supposed to be after your GPA, he encouraged me that i should be making progress not just in music but in my field "
