Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun earlier today visited Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital to assess the condition of the only teaching hospital in the State but was disappointed by the state. Gistvic Reports.

Dapo Abiodun said It is disheartening that the teaching hospital could be left in a deplorable and substandard state despite its importance to the medical students and patients that are in dire need of quality health services and facilities.

He wrote:

"Topmost of any welfare initiatives for citizenry by government is the facilitation of easy access to quality and affordable healthcare services by government. This is a major component of the Building Our Future Together Agenda. Indeed, there is no future without a sound health.
As a result of this conviction, I visited the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital to assess the condition of the only teaching hospital in the State earlier today.
I was received by the Chief Medical Director, Dr Peter Adefuye who took me round the hospital as he gives a detailed account of the physical and operational challenges being experienced by hospital management. It is disheartening that our teaching hospital could be left in this deplorable and substandard state despite its importance to the medical students and patients that are in dire need of quality health services and facilities.
The chairperson, medical advisory committee, Dr. Mrs Bunmi Fatungase made me realized that the hospital capacity was 100-beded at inception, but was later made to accommodate 320-bed without any improvement on its facilities and personnel. Hence, I have decided to overhaul the health sector of the State and make the Olabisi Onabanjo Teaching Hospital a reference point in Nigeria, in terms of infrastructure, modern equipments and qualified and adequate personnel. A trial magistrate of Otuke, Uganda was on Thursday left speechless when a suspect appeared in court wearing his stolen clothes. Gistvic Reports.

The magistrate was prompted to adjourn hearing all the cases for one week to recover from the shock, a police officer, who attended the dramatic court session, said.

This same man has been arrested for six months for stealing a bag of simsim but was released because the complainant had on several occasions failed to appear in court to testify against the suspect.

Just a day after his release from prison, Oteng allegedly raided the home of the magistrate and stole his property. He stole a suitcase containing four pairs of suits and other clothes, two 20 litre jerrycans of water, which he mistook for cooking oil, among others.

The police officer said Oteng allegedly stole cooking oil and other household items when he raided the homes of the prison staff. He later broke into the house of the magistrate.

Oteng reportedly took advantage of the heavy rain since the occupants of those houses were away for work.

He was found hiding in a bush when some hunters caught and arrested him, found him possession of several items stolen from the house of the magistrate including four pairs of suits,” the police source said.
