Good morning guys.I have been here at different times for advice ,the most recent was when I came for advice on what to do when it was discovered that some guys used my company name to secure visas and hence,I have been under some sort of investigation.iRyan,ladyGuinivere,Simababe,Tzetzefly and seyewest would remmember.Anyways I got a call from the embassy after almost 8months on Thursday.The lady a Nigerian called and asked if I was the father of so so and I said yes.She told me that from there records she observed that I was asked to bring our unused and expired visas for sighting.I told her yes that it was true and that i had brought the visa's and I mentioned the investigators name that sighted the visas when I brought it.I also went ahead to tell her that its been about 8months they held my families passport and I was actually contemplating to come to the embassy soon.She said I need not cos they will contact
me.Say about one hour later she called back asked where is my wife and also asked where is my son.I told her they were both in Abuja and I was in PH at the time cos she also asked where I was too.She asked when I wld be able to come arrd,I told her if she wants me to come arrd immediately that I can.She said I shld take my time and finally said I can come and pick our passports (note not visas) between Monday and Friday,that wld not be arrd on Tuesday and gave me her name and extension.Guys I am confused here,I am thinking in my head all this days what decision they have arrived at.But in my head no clue.Please I need anybody with similar experience in the house to shed some light ooo.

Sorry, I had to highlight the entire message so the questioner can know he is the one referred.

Just so you should know, the onus of proof rest solely on you. This case against you is a very serious allegation. I repeat, it is not something you would want to take with kids gloves.

And judging from what you stated above, you have not been able to prove your case or satisfy the investigator that you had no prior knowledge regarding the two(2) individuals who were able to access your company details in securing entry visas.

Be that as it may, you may be looking at a lengthy ban or worse case scenario, regarded as an accomplice to a crime (if these individuals were suspected to have been involved in identity theft in the past, or such related immigration crime previously). You see what I mean?

It is best you consult an immigration lawyer to advise you on the way forward, and not leave this very serious situation as it is (nonchalantly). Your reputation and that of your company is at stake!

This is the reason why it is always advised that people stay as far away as possible from using agents to fill out their U.S. visa application. Using these so called unverified agents, exposes their confidential information to fraudsters.

I sincerely hope you are innocent in all these.

This is a stronnnnnng thing.
Ist of all, I would like to use this opportunity to call on the thread users that patronize agents that there is a probability of this happening. Agents can clone your documents and dish out as they want.
That being said, Vickero did u use an agent? Honest to God answer so people can give u helpful and legit advice.
As to what to do, if what u said is the extent of what u know, then its to watch and pray. U might also conduct your own down low investigation for egs search out for those fellows on FB. See if u can get a connection and then inform the embassy. Ndo oh!

I don't understand ur queshion well well o! But see how it works. When u start an application, the ds 160 automatically generates from the get go and remains the same. U can decide to abandon the ist one and fill another one . Its validity I think is 30 days from the day u start filling. U can fill more than one concurrently- its sort of like filling several paper forms and littering them all over the place.
However once u submit AND TIE to your profile, that nos is stuck on you. So change that nos its only the embassy that can do that. If u now want to get a date with the present no u have and apply to have it changed later, its possible BUT left for u to weigh the pros and cons yasef.
For me, I always take things sequentially but that's just me...old fashioned.

I see two issuet u posted earlier.
U want to edit DS 160- no you can't. U can only fill and swap if u have submitted . By emailing them with the reason why. Call them if the email is taking time.Refer to the email. They answer.note: don't change anything apart from the date o!
2. You also tied a wrong ds 160 to your profile. Plz I bow to Goddey's advice at this point. Follow the steps he set out for editting. 'Click on new appointment ...step 5 etc' ( I don't know how to highlight. Would have done so. If e no gree plz also call them. Don't create a new profile however. Reason is if u have applied before, to remain consistent in everything.

For the love of everything good! Stop advicing people to take shortcuts. you always run into trouble(as in the case of thankfulsoul)
ok look at what you adviced vickero to do. he had an issue with his appointment page, did the proper thing by writing the embassy. Now u advice him to create another profile. This u advice without knowing if he has previouly applied for visa or consideribg the implications. Dude the essence of this thread is to give wholesome advice that is straightforward and not half and half.
Finally! As a christian i beg you to leave God out of your shenanigans. when you give kurukere advice, u come de call my God. if its the God of Daniel he wont hear u o!!!

Hello guys.Please one more question.Myself,wife and son were issued visas in 2010 but we couldn't travel till the visa expired,also the passport on which the visa was issued too has also expired.Now,we have new passports and want to apply again.Pls who do u guys think are our chances and any suggestion s asper what we might need for our interview?

Frankly, whatever response you get about this your dilemma will just be a matter of personal opinion. Nobody can categorically guarantee that you are too late or that you still have enough time. It takes like 8-9 weeks from the online submission to the TRV collection based on recent stats so it's left for you to decide if you still have enough time or not.

In my opinion, the timing is really tight and if I had something doing (like an occupation) at the moment, I'd rather stick to it and take my time to do a decent and relaxed application for Fall 2015. But hey, No risk no reward.
