BusinessRe: My Experience In Egg Distribution Investment. by VickyHills(f): 6:09pm On Sep 07, 2015
Blackkie:
How are you operating in the business?
A bulk seller like am doing or you have a retail outlet?
What volume are you looking at?
Email me - phortizoltd@yahoo.com
Thanks, Blackkie. I've a retail shop where I sell foodies(crayfish, dryfish, rice, garri, eggs, etc). But going through your thread, I'd decided to venture into the business fully. I'd like to start with 50 crates to test new grounds 1st. The wholesaler in my area offered 650 for small eggs, 700 for middle, 750 for big eggs. If I buy them at that rate how much would I resell? Imagine fa! That's why I want someone to help me out. Thanks, again.

VickyHills, that's it o. Thank God you've realised. I pray God provides so you start up your own thing. I'm currently serving in a School and the prospects of taking up a job there fills me with dread. The school's very ok, standard is great but that idea of someone paying toro kobo for my valuable time doesn't cut it for me. My oga is scraping all the kobos he can get, he intends starting a school by the next session even if na 1 room first, doesn't have to be something grand for now.

I schooled in the north too, I'm mightily proud of it(just uni though).

I saw an advert of a School posted here and i shed tears for myself. i usually passed it on my way to sec School then, i used to laugh and say "this one na school, see as the building be, who go put pikin here?" But the school is thriving well today, so don't be scared to start something.

Wish you the best.
Thanks, Kendra. Encouraging! Bless you.

After 3wks recess( to take care of my lil gals that have started looking like malnourished almajiris cos I'm working... mtssshhw!), I decide to refurbish my CV and distribute them like indomie(my feet still hurts and my head still aches from the trekking and sun scorch). My 1st shock was the stewpiid face most of them make whenever I say 'B.A and NCE' certificate.like something is wrong with being a graduate. The height of it was, after being overjoyed for their 'favourable' call, the proprietor told me to my face that schooling in the North is useless.(Had all my education there). That once he gives me the job, I should reapply to any school in Lagos and GO to school. Kai! The insult was becoming 'unbecoming' and as a good lady I politely told the panel that we should reschedule the interview for Friday which they agreed to. I intended 'falling that man and his crew's hand' but on a 2nd thought ... "Why work for some bully when I can be my own boss?"... I'm considering starting my own business which would accord me time to look after my kids well ... and travel a lot too! #teamnotodegradation

I partly agree to guess-talk milady!

Here in yenagoa, teaching jobs are hardly advertised (expect for some mushroom 7000 monthly schools). So its not a matter of not posting teaching vacancies but lack of such vacancies here.

However, i will try to make a list of schools here. hope u are doing well sweetie @vickyHills
Thanks, Makazona. I'm doing fine. Just try and post anyone or the list of the schools you know there. Twill help somebody. Take care o! And may God bless our hustle.

Recently, in the school where I worked(resigned), a male teacher molested a 6yr old girl in Basic2. The guy happens to be the proprietor's son, so the atrocity was swept under the carpet. But somehow the mother of the child got to know and those evil proprietors started begging with their lives. God shall rise against your wickedness to those other innocent children your son molested and you people hide it, Rogers Children School, Ilasa, the den of wickedness and fetishist.

80% of the jobs are in Lagos...Nawao
. That's because the OP and majority of the posters are in Lagos. They even went as far as posting lists of schools in Abuja and one other state(forgotten which). All you guys from other states should help do, is to post teaching vacancies you see in your vicinity. But the ringing issue has always been lack of feedback. Everyone waits for OP to post jobs. I and hundreds of peeps have benefited immensely from this Thread, all thanks to the gurus here. God bless you all.

I submitted my resume and application letter to st. Monica, Apata and st. Sylvester. I was asked many questions at st. Sylvester abt classroom management, classroom decoration, can I teach upper primary mathematics?, what are the things I would need if given an empty class to teach?, subjects I can teach etc. The woman said I would have to undergo a training on speech. She asked my expected salary and I said minimum of 35k. She said she can't pay up to that and I would need to bring my kids if I'm employed but I told her it depends on the sch fees. She said she will get back to me later in the day. I hope my salary range is not too small.
. Exactly the same thing she told me too 2yrs ago. Out of desperation, I started the work, taking Basic 1-6 four subjects + being the class teacher for Basic 2. When I wrote only lesson plan for 1wk, kai! No one asked me to run from the slavery. She said its mandatory to register your school-age kids. Meanwhile, she wants to pay less than 20k but your child's fee is more than 45k. I just couldn't deal. I thought she had improved but seems its still the same ish way back. Sorry I suggested there. I'm also in the market now. Kindly update us on any progress. Did you try the Taadel?

I teach pry 4 all subjects except french and music; and I also teach pry 5 five to six subjects. The mgt of the Sch does not give the teachers room for extra benefits. We only 've our salary to spend and its grossly insufficient. Plus the teachers are made to perform other duties not related to teaching.
Try applying to Taadel, along Cele-Okota rd. Apata, by Apata round about. st. Sylvester, close to Apata too. st. Monica, along Ire-Akari etc. They pay well.

Eyyaa! Dr. Golden. You remembered me. Thanks for checking up on me. Work's been very hectic as usual but God's been very faithful. We just finished writing our Mid-term test(covered 18 subjects in just 3 days). I've been marking, recording and lesson notes against next week.
I only have a little time to myself.
Thanks, once again.

Givemejoy:
I suppose that should be Illasamaja in Lagos. I quite sympathise with you. In most private schools, they owners careless about staff welfare. I have challenged my principal when he spoke to us aggressively which has never happened in history of the school, the set of teacher they employde that period showed them how a school should be run not ready to take nonesense from them, infact the new teachers where the only ones doing lessons. 28 periods, three subjects and 27k. Madam, the parent did not see the reason for the delay which your proprietor refused to explain to her. I suggest this holiday, you get another school. By the way, where you the one who wrote about boredom in which the doctor advised you take up the job and enrol you child in the school.
Art, what do you mean by scientific teaching? I might be needing it.
Wow! Thanks, Givemejoy. God bless. This school doesn't grow cos there are no innovations and changes; and anyone that comes with anything new, is being frustrated and sent away.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Strictly For Those Interested In Teaching Jobs by VickyHills(f): 9:29pm On Feb 06, 2015
I once mentioned that our School's proprietor is a "parents'-ass-licker" which I'm re-emphasising now.
Yesterday, a parent came and insulted me and was just about slapping me when someone stopped her. It all because I delayed the boy from going home until he recites 4times table(which the boy had learnt by the time I was through coaching him o). Today, I was expecting our oga to call the lady to order after hearing the whole issue, just for him to personally go to the lady's house and apologised to her and come back to tell me to stomach every nonsense a parent dishes me and he will rather loose 10 teachers than to loose 1 parent(no matter how hostile they are).
After teaching 50 subjects in a week, writing comprehensive lesson notes, decorating the classroom(the classes aren't painted); parents very hostile attitude etc, the man pays me only 12k.
Pleeeeeeeaaaassseeee! Help. I'm a mother and stays at Ilasa.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Strictly For Those Interested In Teaching Jobs by VickyHills(f): 9:00pm On Feb 06, 2015
@Upload111, you seen little o. Where I work, we teach 8 subjects a day, plus 2 extra subjects during school lesson, all making 10 subjects in a day multiply it by 5times in a week(50 subjects in a week). By the end of the day, the children know nothing.

To the OP and the wonderful peeps here, thank you for this thread and may God bless you immeasurably.
I'm a teacher and has learnt a lot from this forum. For almost 2yrs I've been sitting idle waiting for AC-filled office job, until I located this thread and has been judiciously following from pg 1. I saw all the encouragements and motivations to start small; which at a point got to me and I started teaching with a meagre salary of 12k but the joy of leaving home and returning, got me fulfilled. Though I'm not seeing myself in this same spot before the end of this year, yet I'm glad I followed this thread and took a step to move on.

Good people, please, what other form(s) of punishment can a teacher employ asides cane(flogging)? My pupils are extremely stubborn and from a very rowdy environment. The greedy proprietor is a parents-ass-licker who can do anything the parents wants for his school. They've decided the teachers shouldn't punish their children, and he is ok with that. IMAGINE!
Pls, help prescribe varieties of punishment to be used on them for an effective class management.
Thanks.
