Osaro4u2k:In bold. We should thank God for you, yet you're advising other people's children to go and hunt snake. Cos according to you they should follow the below tips: daily for that matter ![]() Tips for getting Snake meat daily: Look for an abadoned pit this period, you will always get them (Snakes) alive & fresh, thank me later...If they follow your advice and aren't as lucky as you are what will you say? The devil at work? Smh. |
Jelzin2412:That's interesting to know. Thanks for the detailed explanation. I appreciate it. |
aelai:Yes I have listened to This is Amazing Grace. It's one of my worship collection. The song is evergreen. ![]() Thanks for the recommendation. |
aelai:Amen. Thank you so much for the encouragement. I appreciate it. ![]() Yea, Phil Wickham is a blessing to this generation. No worries, will mention you tomorrow once posted. |
There are songs that will forever have an impact in our lives and Living Hope is one of it for me. September 22nd, 2018 is a day I can never forget easily. It's a day I probably would have been a history (you ask, doesn't everyday feel that way?) Well not to bore anyone, I almost drowned in a Lake and I can never forget that experience. There were 2 songs I was singing while waiting for rescue and while also thinking I may die. Living Hope by Phil Wickham is one. I'll share the other tomorrow by God's grace. Today as I sit by a similar lake, I remember this song and I am caught up in my emotions and grateful for Life. Grateful for the air I breathe. Grateful that I breathe to worship God. Short lyrics Hallelujah, praise the One who set me free Hallelujah, death has lost its grip on me You have broken every chain There's salvation in Your name Jesus Christ, my living hope

What a thread! This thread is a good candidate for derailing ![]() |
Shukusheka:At least I learnt something that I have now forgotten. What was it called again? ![]() |
Shukusheka: you now gave me an assignment that wasn't required.
|
Shukusheka:Oh Interesting. Just checked it. Thanks never heard of that. I read it develops in the bone tissues and can metastasize to the brain or any part of the body but doesn't appear to start from the brain. I stand to be corrected. Also how do you tell from the picture that it's malignant? Based on what I just saw on Google most fibrous histiocytoma are benign. Just curious. |
TheFacelessMan:Thank you, witch doctor. ![]() Yea I agree that its benign that's why I wanted to know what kind of benign tumor it was and what organ it attaches itself to. It's my first time seeing a tumor of this magnitude. |
This is Doctors/learned practitioners in the house, what kind of tumor is this? Not referring to whether it is malignant or benign. |

TallNigerian:Hi, it's my pleasure and good to know you find it helpful. In bold, great, great, great! You cant go wrong with either of the 2 professions. IT is a big deal in Canada, the same with some other professions. Public health too is another, and like you mentioned, this wasn't likely valued as much until this pandemic. I have some friends in the public health field and they're so in demand right now. I dont even need to talk about the money they get from it. ![]() Like someone mentioned, skills are more of what cannyland values than degrees. So even with your degree, continue to learn like you said. Learn online, learn one or 2 hands on skills. You can be working a professional job and also have a side business based on your skills that will also bring you money. I've read how people talk about debt, yes that's the way the system is programmed. And Tax isn't even funny. Its like you are working for the government, although they have a tax return system that is very valuable and rewarding. At the end of day it depends on what you are looking for. If you are someone who isn't competitive, or feel the need to accomplish everything in a short space, then you take your time. Once there's life, there's hope for what you can accomplish. Go for what you can afford. The good thing also is health care is free in Canada, because that's another unplanned emergency that can put one in debt, but the government covers majority of that worry. Coupled with your work medical insurance, you will likely not have so much to pay when it comes to buying medications. Not everyone living in Canada has massive debts as being portrayed. (but again, I might be wrong ) Some people work, save and decide to opt for only what they can afford. some have debts but yet strategize and are able to manage it. It all depends. Not one shoe size fits all. The interesting thing is Nigerians are really the ones in competition with themselves. Canadians really dont care that much. The most debt a Canadian will be in is mortgage (which of course is massive ooo ), but compare to a Nigerian that just arrived Canada in 3 months and is already thinking of opting for several loans for car, mortgage, school etc. Priority is key! That's not to rule out the fact that the system is set up in a way to make everyone live in debt. That's why most companies will offer you credit card, offer you increase in your card limit, and even offer you mortgage (even when you are barely a year in the country), that's when you realize that not everything is free and you need to think and plan wisely. So dont let any of this scare or discourage you. If you sense the need to do, and you've been able to discern, then make plans and move. Also age is really on your side, especially with the point based system. If you are 30 or < you get a even higher point. And absolutely, please feel free to reach out. Cheers |
StubbornGENIUS:You're welcome. Happy weekend too. |
Enculer:No worries at all. my pleasure. All the best and have a good one! |
Enculer, 1. You can simulate as many virtual PC's you'd want. I dont think you'd ever run out but again, it all comes down to your memory size. You can run as many as 50 or even more, and will also depend on the package. Not all the functionalities of a vm comes for free, but most basic needs are met. And yes, each can be assigned its own virtual IPs. They will piggyback on your physical machine's NIC. There are several ways to configure this, so I'd recommend using a VMware guide online. 2. Each of them can have their own virtual disk. Just the same way you partition hard disk locally, the interface allows you to assign/partition virtual disk to the vms you'll be running. 3. Yes you can practice both with the set up. I'll recommend checking online for some process guide. PS: no question is daft, we're all learning. |
StubbornGENIUS:You mean I should translate what Noted means or the yoruba comments I quoted? Well for the yoruba comment, he was just saying: "what kind of special treatment are we giving to monkeys. If we can eat chicken, why cant we eat monkeys or any animal we like?" I don't agree with that analogy and not ready to argue hence the reason I replied with "Noted". |

Omoluabeesixtee:Citizenship by birth/marriage you mean? there's citizenship by birth, but for marriage, you'll have to go through the process of becoming citizen as either a landed immigrant or Permanent resident. (All in all, its about 2 to 3 years depending on several factors). That's if I understood your question. |
Enculer:Sorry I just saw this, and I see someone answered your question already. Yes, "virtualbox" is feasible. I'm a big fan of vmware over virtualbox though and maybe that's just me. I used virtualbox couple of years ago, (although not for for cyber related things) cant vouch for its quality now, but its a good one and one of the trending virtualization tool in the market. There are also a couple of others you can try. MS Hyper-V is one but one of the restriction is it has a limited number of windows server that it supports and only supports Windows OS. Also you'll be getting virtualbox or vmware for free (for some limited functionalities, which is great!) For the memory, it depends on what your workload would be and how many servers you'll be running. Personally, 4GB is quite small for a PC that doesn't even have a VM so I'll recommend upgrading if possible like emperorizzy said. (8gb or 16gb) I hope this is helpful. Guys, please feel free to add or correct me. We are all work in progress. ![]() |
eleko1:lol why you dey sad ![]() I scanned through the first 3 pages, and I see most people have given the op some good advice. ("good" is relative) Nothing much for me to say here other than to also encourage the op to consider relocating if he feels the need to. I believe he'd have nothing to lose as someone advised that he can take 2 or 3 years off work, relocate, if he doesn't like it, he can always return back. There are several factors that is so much in his favor and I'll encourage him to leverage them: e.g., he has siblings in Canada (not just 1) so, both home and abroad he has good family ties. Then he also has some years of experience. I dont know particularly what the op does or what he did for masters but there are lots of great opportunities for him. And having people in Canada already will ease the transition phase and make it less stressful. While also considering and processing relocation, he can begin to learn some skills online particularly in areas where he'd like to dominate/make as a career in Canada. Even if its a 30 minutes online tutorial, do it, keep the certificates of attendance, take exams etc. I can relate to the kind of doors some of these online courses (that we take for granted) can open. Above all, Op I am a believer of Faith, so I wont end this without saying to commit all your plans in God's hands. - Psalm 37 vs 5 (I dont know if you're also a believer). What works for Mr. A, doesn't necessarily work for Mr. B and vice versa. Dont feel pressurized. So make sure that you plan, but also trust God for direction and discernment. (with discernment comes timing and seasons. i.e, not being too early and not being too late). I know and can relate to being at crossroads like this. Finally, @op (TallNigerian) - I know that there are several people that has offered to help however if you still have any questions, feel free to reach out to me. If I dont have the answers, I'll be more than happy to direct you to people I trust. Disclaimer: I am not an agent, and any information or guidance I provide will be free of charge. Btw, I said "nothing much to say" and I ended up writing a diary. ![]() |
