The changing of Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) and the Kaduna Polytechnic (KADPOLY) into Universities.
The Bills titled, City University of Technology Yaba, 2016 sponsored by Senator Gbenga Ashafa, APC, Lagos East and that of City University of Technology Kaduna Bill, 2016, sponsored by Senator Jibrin Barau, APC, Kano North, went in the first reading at the Senate plenary on Wednesday.
The laws will go through the second reading and be debated on after which it would be taken to the Senate Committee on Tertiary Education and TETfund for more legislative inputs.
The committee will later bring a report on which it shall be debated and adopted, following the preparation of the bills for the Third Reading and afterwards passed into laws.

The 2016 convocation ceremony of the University of Ibadan which took place on Monday, 14th November 2016 , a total of 5,598 students graduated with a first class degree .
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Idowu Olayinka, said the graduates made First Class Honours, 1,407 graduands came out with Second Class Honours (Upper Division) while 3,020 made Second Class Honours (Lower Division). 666 made Third Class Honours and 74 others had Passes with 314 in the Unclassified Degree category.

Nigeria’s Dream Team VI lost their last game in group B at the Rio Olympics games after going down 2-0 to Colombia.

Two goals in both half from Gutierrez and Pabon gave the South Americans all three points as they finished second on five points behind Nigeria on six.

Nigeria were also left to play with ten men for the last eight minutes of the game as Oghenekaro Etebo picked up an injury, which now leaves his states under serious question ahead of the quarter final.
