80% of the sellers on Amazon actually ship directly to Nigeria. However, the percentage of sellers shipping directly to Nigeria from EBay is actually low. Should be around 20-45%. So getting a direct shipment from Amazon isn't actually a big deal.

even before now, the standad has always been low powered laptops for most users; either by their choice or by seller ogboju [ a colleague had an i3 with 2gbb of ram that he bought for over 100k; that he was thinking was a good buy]

i am the office go to geek, and one of the things i have done is extensive 3d modelling and architectural visualisation using sketchup. sketchup is very very very easy to learn, and colleagues come all the time saying they want to aso learn 3d modelling. buy their laptops are just too low end.

even my boss [ a man with plenty of dough] was running an i3 laptop with intel graphics. it is only now he is buying a high end device. sometimes it is outright shocking when you meet people who are supposed to be professionals running underpowered laptops with 32 bit windows, 2gb of ram dual cores.

i was supposed to work with a young architect on a pp project. i was telling the guy i would show him some tools he could use to drastically improve his efficiency; he gave me his laptop to set them up and it was 32bit, 2gb ram. i was just looking at the guy. he was running autocad 2008 on his pc, which was the best he could have done under the circumstances. i just gave up. no point.

you will also come across other guys who will by force run vmware on win 7laptops because they are trying to run the legacy engineering apps.
it is not just country, it is also nigerians who think you can always manage everything

well, that and greedy sellers who love to sell rubbish at high prices. it is always best if you have someone abroad, you can buy manufacturer refurb laptops at rock bottom prices



what vm software are you running? its older versions that explicitl require that you enable virtualization . the most recent virtualbox doesn't, and i would say the same for vmware player

Oh I get what you mean and were you are coming from. I use a dell inspiron N4050 which is quite low for modern standard but not willfully cause the RBS ain't there yet. I would never have enough money and still settle for a low end.

If you use a laptop, go for a 12 - cell battery that works with it. They go on amazon for less than $100 + shipping. It is worth it. I got an original 6-cell and it gives me 3-4 hours already, a 12-cell should give double that.
