in most universities, the course you're vying for is usually called electrical engineering and computer science. so, yes. your course has a lot to do with programming.

there are some select areas in PH where there is an average of 18-22 hours of power supply per day. and as for jobs, the tech ecosystem in Port Harcourt is quite formidable. so in essence, if you are not looking to reside in Lagos, Port Harcourt is the next place i can recommend.
one drawback though, PH is a VERY expensive place to stay in. from rent cost to transportation, feeding etc.

No ooo ,no need to replace the motherboard, nothing is wrong with it apart from the corrupt BIOS.

So what do you suggest I do?

major problem another solution u can try is dismantle your system use small petrol to clean all your motherboard and Ram fix it back......If it doesn't work change the Ram

My system doesn't pass the dell logo

Turn on your PC > at the Appearance of Windows logo on your screen, press the power button. Do this 3x and you're in Advanced Startup where you can do your repair. Or, you use the Repair your PC option at the lower left screen of your OS installation using bootable disk.

The system literally freezes at the BIOS, bro.

If it's the first one we are dealing here,I'll advise you to see a laptop technician cos the BIOS is corrupt.

Cos you won't be able to boot into BIOS or even enter desktop menu.

The first case is the problem I'm faced with. If my BIOS is spoilt, can it be easily repaired or would I need to replace the motherboard?

It depends, if you are more interested in front-end development, basic knowledge of algebra is required.
If you are interested in backend development and or logic programming, you need a very in depth understanding of calculus, discrete Maths and other Maths for computer science.

I will try to explain from their training perspective.

A computer scientist is trained to deal directly with computational problems, they are mostly trained to write programs, design Algorithms to solve computational problems on a higher level than hardware design, also they are given a bit of electrical background training, just enough to help them understand their computational work.

On the other hand computer Engineers are like a hybrid field that joins electrical engineering and computer science to form a single course, they deal with hardware design and can also build algorithms and software to solve computational problems, a well trained Computer Engineer can work comfortably in a computer science related field or an electrical engineering related field or even work better in a fusion of both fields (robotics, embedded systems), most of them are trained to be very comfortable with electronic design jobs.
