“Hydrogen sulfide is toxic in large doses but in tiny amounts it helps protect cells and fight illness, according to researchers at Exeter University.”
The smell of flatulence has secret health benefits that could help stave off cancer, strokes, heart attacks and dementia, scientists have revealed.
Hydrogen sulfide is one of a number of potent smelly gases produced by bacteria as it breaks down food in the gut.
It is toxic in large doses but in tiny amounts it helps protect cells and fight illness, according to researchers at Exeter University.
When cells become stressed by disease they try to draw in enzymes to generate their own minute quantities of hydrogen sulfide.
The chemical helps to preserve mitochondria, which drive energy production in blood vessel cells and regulate inflammation, and without it the cell can switch off and die.
Researchers have come up with a new compound named AP39 to assist the body in producing just the right amount of hydrogen sulfide that it needs.
They believe it will help prevent or reverse mitochondrial damage, a key strategy in treating conditions such as stroke, heart failure, diabetes, arthritis, dementia and ageing.
Professor Matt Whiteman from University of Exeter’s medical school said: “When cells become stressed by disease, they draw in enzymes to generate minute quantities of hydrogen sulfide.
“This keeps the mitochondria ticking over and allows cells to live. If this doesn’t happen, the cells die and lose the ability to regulate survival and control inflammation.
“We have exploited this natural process by making a compound, called AP39, which slowly delivers very small amounts of this gas specifically to the mitochondria.
“Our results indicate that if stressed cells are treated with AP39, mitochondria are protected and cells stay alive.”
Before it can be tested on humans, researchers have run disease models to see how effective AP39 is.
Early results, published in the journal Medicinal Chemistry Communications, show that it can help up to 80 percent more mitochondria survive highly destructive conditions such as cardiovascular disease.
Fellow researcher Dr. Mark Wood added: “Although hydrogen sulfide is well known as a pungent, foul-smelling gas in rotten eggs and flatulence, it is naturally produced in the body and could in fact be a healthcare hero with significant implications for future therapies for a variety of diseases.”

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) yesterday ruled out any extension of the October 31 deadline for customers to register for their Bank Verification Number (BVN).

It urged those yet to be captured to do so before the deadline expires in six days.

The BVN which had been on for over six months initially ended on July 30 but was extended by additional three months following calls from many customers who could not register within the period
Appealing to those not yet captured under the scheme to ensure they don’t miss out on the re-scheduled deadline, the apex bank said there is no need for people to wait until the last day before going for the registration
Deputy Director, Consumer Protection Department at the CBN, Hajia Khadija Kasim, addressing stakeholders at a one-day sensitisation fair in Ibadan said the BVN, with the cashless policy, will go a long way to help the apex bank and other banks in the country to tackle the issue of money laundering in the country
“The initial deadline was June 30th before we extended it to end of October. By now we expect all Nigerians to go before the expiration date and get their Bank Verification Number. Please Nigerians, come out and ensure that within the few days left for the registration, you are registered for the exercise,” she said .
Explaining how the cashless policy and biometric registration will help check money laundering and fraudulent transactions in the banking sector, the deputy director assured that the two policies which goes hand-in-hand will help make the identity of money launderers and fraud perpetrators easier to nab
She said: “You will see some inter-relationship between our cashless policy and the need for us to have our bio-metrics. When you are now registered as a bank customer and your details are there, it will be very difficult for somebody to use that account for any fraudulent activities.
“So, if any fraudulent activity takes place there, we will be able to trace the owner of the account. The situation where we have faceless people carrying out money laundering or fraudulent transactions will be reduced to the barest minimal.”
Commending the cashless policy which has gone full scale all over the country, the deputy director said people are now getting enlightened on the need not to carry cash about by using electronic platforms to do their business transactions anywhere within and around the country.
She said: “We started the cashless policy in areas that have large volume of money transaction but now it has been extended to cover the whole country and our people are now getting better enlightened by the day.”

The Taraba State Government House has been plunged into darkness after the Yola Electricity Distribution Company disconnected its source of power supply over N74 million unpaid electricity bills.
According to a report by Daily Trust, the power cut followed the inability of the state government to offset its five months outstanding bills covering January to May 2015.
The electricity company had on April 16 written a letter to the state acting governor, Sani Danladi Abubakar, asking for payment of the outstanding bill to avoid disconnection.
“In line with the new Yola Electricity Distribution Company management’s drive for the collection of outstanding debts owed the company by electricity consumers under its jurisdiction, a careful examination of our authenticated records revealed that the Taraba State government’s accounts have an authenticated debt of N60,356,978.41 as at April, 2015”, the letter said.
It was learnt that as at May 2015, the outstanding bills being owed the company by the government climbed up to N74 million, a situation which forced the company to disconnect the power supply to Government House.

The Vice Chancellor of the Osun State University (UNIOSUN), Professor Bashir Okesina, has been sacked by the institution’s Governing Council.
Okesina’s appointment and that of two other principal officers of the University was terminated over allegation of financial mismanagement in the institution.
The state Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, who is a visitor to the University, had set up a visitation panel who looked into the allegation, and then recommended the sack of the officers after their probe.
Their termination is with immediate effect.
It was gathered that the termination of their appointments has been recommended to Governor Aregbesola and pends his approval.
However, UNIOSUN branch of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) as described the action of the Council as too hasty.
ASUU Chairman in the chapter, Dr. Abiona Oluseye and eight others said in a statement that the sack is not fair.

“It is instructive to state that a visitation panel was constituted by the Governor of the State of Osun and the report submitted. ASUU-Uniosun is of the opinion that it would have been better for the council to wait for the white paper on the report to be released by the Governor before assuming the position of a judge in their own case.
“Against the backdrop of the on-going, ASUU-UNIOSUN hereby calls for the immediate reversal of the decision pending the outcome of the white paper on the matter,’’ the statement said.

Following the break out of violence after the foiled coup attempt in Burundi, Doctors have said policemen invaded a hospital in the country’s capital, killing patients and searched for men inured in the coup crisis.
A surgeon at the Bumerec hospital in Bujumbura, Dr. Antoine, said the attack on Friday, May 15 also inflicted different degrees of injury on some patients.
“We received three patients and they were here in the emergency room after that moment we see a group of policemen arrive here and they began to shoot everywhere,” Antoine said.
The attack took place on the day the Burundian President,Pierre Nkurunziza, returned to the country, after the attempted coup forced him to stay back in Tanzania where he was attending a summit before the coup.

The outgoing Governor of Kaduna State, Mukhtar Yero, has been accused of last-minute looting of the state treasury by the All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmakers in the state House of Assembly.
They alleged that the Governor is plotting to swindle the state of N2.744 billion Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme fund. The 2014 Sure-P funds is for the 24 Local Government Areas in the state.
According to the House Deputy Minority Leader, Dr. Aminu Abdullahi-Shagali, who spoke at a press briefing on Friday, May 15, Yero also allocated 50 per cent of the money for road projects.
Shagali said the move is criminal.
He said, “we find it absolutely necessary to address the people of Kaduna State through the media. Ordinarily by this period of the month when handing over notes of the outgoing government has been received and incoming government is preparing its inauguration, we should not be concerned with anything.
“However, the attempt of the outgoing government to quickly appropriate and disbursed the Sure-P to the 23 LGAs is last-minute looting and squandering of public funds.
“A request submitted this week by the executive arm to the House of Assembly to appropriate the 2014 Sure-P funds of the 23 LGAs to the tune of N7.744b is not only improper, but gross financial recklessness.
“There is no how a local government council can judiciously execute any meaningful project within two weeks considering the fact that diligent due process and financial regulations have to be followed.
“Even though an attempt was made to discuss the issue and pass it, a resolution was made during an executive session that the fund should not be appropriated and disbursed.
“We, the concerned members of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, hereby wish to state categorically that we are not a party and will not be a party to such financial recklessness.”
It was gathered that Yero government has already indicated the funds in question in the handing over notes.

A smartphone has been used to automatically detect wriggling parasites in blood samples, BBC reports.
The CellScope system films a drop of blood and an app then automatically analyses any movement in the sample to detect the parasites.
According to results obtained from trials in Cameroon, which were published in Science Translational Medicine, the device was successful in making detections and experts lauded it saying it marked a fundamental advance in tropical diseases.
Previous efforts to eradicate 2 parasitic diseases, river blindness and elephantiasis, have been suspended because the treatment can become fatal in some people.
One treatment, the drug ivermectin, is risky in people with high levels of Loa loaworm, so people need to be screened first.
But testing is time-consuming and requires laboratory equipment.
However this new process solves this problem as shown by a team at the University of California, Berkeley, and the US National Institutes of Health, which used a modified smartphone to automate the process.
A pindrop of blood was collected and loaded into a handheld box. The phone on top then kicked in.
One of the researchers, Prof Daniel Fletcher explained that "with one touch of the screen, the device moves the sample, captures video and automatically analyses the images".
The new process means very little training is required, while current screening procedures require someone to be skilled in analysing blood samples by eye.
It also means that diseases such as as TB, malaria can be much more conveniently be detected, even as there are now plans to test it on 40,000 people.

FOR saying that he will not forgive killers, arsonists, National leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP yesterday urged the President- elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, retd to see himself as a father of the nation who should live like late South Africa President, Nelson Mandela.

Speaking with Journalists yesterday in Abuja, PDP deputy Sai-Buhari National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus who was apparently responding to General Buhari’s comment when when some stakeholders and traditional rulers from Rivers state visited him Wednesday, said that as the President- elect, he should comment as a father on issues that may be brought before him, rather than take sides especially on issues awaiting adjudication and before a panel of inquiry or the judiciary.
According to PDP, Buhari should endeavour to deal with such issues with passion of a father to all irrespective of party affiliation, adding that such utterances do not portray him as an elder statesman.
Secondus said, ” the utterances of the President -elect when he received a delegation of some traditional rules from Rivers state do not portray him as a statesman. He is the president-elect and indeed the father of all. He should exercise caution and restraints in some issues, especially when such issues are still in court.
“The election tribunals in the country and even in Rivers state have just commenced sitting and unguarded statements could be seen as prejudici‎al and give negative signals.
“The president-elect should emulate ‎the late President of South Africa, Nelson Mandela who assumed office as president of South Africa at such a critical time in the history of South Africa.”
The PDP Deputy National Chairman who noted that it was unfair for Buhari to make such claims and statements when the issues involved, including the integrity of the governorship election in the state was subject of election tribunal, said, “He is the president -elect and soon to be sworn in as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and not the president of the APC.”
President- Elect, General Muhammadu Buhari had said on Wednesday that he will not forget or forgive perpetrators of violence before, during and after the recent governorship elections in Rivers State.
Buhari spoke when the state chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, paid him a congratulatory visit in Abuja, adding that he owed the people a duty to ensure justice in the land, also assured that every Nigerian deserved respect and dignity.
He had said: “We will confront them with facts and figures. We will not forgive and we will not forget those who perpetrated killings and arson in Rivers State during the elections. At least this is the much we owe Nigerians.”

President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari has said that he will make Nigerians proud to be citizens of the country.
Buhari also promised that his administration would reform relevant sectors in the country and combat corruption among other things.
The President-elect made the statements on Wednesday, May 13, 2015, during a meeting with an All Progressives Congress(APC )delegation from Delta State at the Defence House in Abuja.
“I thank you for mobilizing yourselves to come and congratulate me for winning the presidential election this year. I assure you that my objective of remaining consistently in partisan politics is to make sure that Nigerians are given their inherent right as citizens of Nigerians to choose whoever they want to lead them,”Buhari said.
“I assure you that what I will concentrate on ensuring that Nigerians will be proud to be Nigerians wherever they are,” he added.
Buhari also assured members of the delegation that his administration would prosecute electoral offenders who unleashed mayhem in Rivers and other states.

Intrigues and horse trading have continued to characterise the jostling for the leadership of the two chambers of the National Assembly, Senate and House of Representatives.
New Telegraph gathered yesterday that senators from the South-West were reconsidering their support for one of the candidates for the Senate presidency, Senator Ahmed Lawan, from Yobe State who currently enjoys the backing of All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader, Senator Bola Tinubu.
Besides, attempts by two of the candidates for the House speakership, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila and Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin, to forge an alliance in furtherance of their ambitions have run into a hitch. Others in the race for the Senate presidency are Senators Bukola Saraki and George Akuma while Hon. Yakubu Dogara is also eyeing the House speakership.
It was gathered that various camps and caucuses have emerged in both chambers of the National Assembly amid the uncertainty over the party’s decision on which zone gets what. But the party leaders, piqued by the intrigues and the likely implications of any further delay, will meet tomorrow in Abuja to take a final decision on the issue.
A senator confided in New Telegraph that the South-West senators had asked Tinubu to present another candidate for them to support as Lawan lacks the national clout to win the race.
He said: “The issue has really put the party on the edge; this is the first time since the merger that we will be so undecided on anything, not even the issue of national chairman and even that of the presidential candidate of the party caused this much of concern to the party.
“Either way you look at it, care must be taken not to rock the boat but a decision has to be taken; and that is why the leadership of the party will finalise the matter this week, maybe at the level of the national caucus meeting scheduled for Wednesday.
“At our level in the South-West, we cannot go against our leader, Asiwaju (Tinubu), but what we have politely told him is that he should bring up someone else and not Lawan. From all indications, even the North- East governors are not fully supporting the man. “So we are awaiting the response to our submission to Asiwaju for us to move ahead.
But I think what we told him in confidence should be able to guide the leadership to take a decision on the matter.” It was also gathered that the outgoing Governor of Kano State and now a senator-elect, Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, had admonished the leadership of the party at an informal meeting of party leaders in Abuja last week that danger awaited the APC if it delayed taking a decision on the issue of zoning.
Meanwhile, the planned alliance between Gbajabiamila and Jibrin to run a joint ticket as speaker and deputy speaker ended yesterday with no agreement reached. Gbajabiamila, from the South-West, is said to be the anointed candidate of Tinubu and the preferred candidate of the party’s hierarchy for the speakership whereas Jibrin is from the North-West just as the President-elect, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari.
Following the contention that the North West cannot produce the House speaker by virtue of the emergence of Buhari, Jibrin it was learnt that Jibrin yesterday agreed to withdraw from the speakership race and team up with Gbajabiamila as deputy speaker. New Telegraph gathered that Jibrin reached out to Gbajabiamila at the weekend declaring his loyalty and planned partnership.
Consequently, Jibrin had organised a press conference in Abuja to formally announce his withdrawal from the race and support for Gbajabiamila.
But the conference, which was initially fixed for 11am, was later shifted to 2.00pm, yet it did not hold as Jibrin and his team were said to be holding meetings to strengthen out the terms of the proposed alliance.
New Telegraph, however, learnt that Gbajabiamila’s supporters were divided over the overtures from Jibrin. A member who is in support of Gbajabiamila’s ambition, said some of them were not comfortable with Jibrin because they suspect that he wanted to use the Lagos lawmaker to enhance his ambition.
Attempts to get Gbajabiamila and Jibrin to give reasons why the press conference was stalled were unsuccessful.

If not handled properly, a brewing supremacy battle between the dominant Hausa-Fulani bloc of the incoming ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) and the South-West bloc of the party will snow-ball into a major crisis.
A source within the APC, told Western Post that immediately after the conclusion of the presidential election, the Northern elements in the party began covert moves to checkmate the overwhelming influence of Tinubu.
They were said to be perturbed by Tinubu’s domineering attitude and started moves to cut him to size before he hijacks the party. Tinubu played a prominent role in the merger that led to the formation of the APC and the eventual emergence of Buhari as the party’s presidential flag bearer.
The subtle moves to whittle down Tinubu’s influence was a carefully crafted plot by one of the staunch Buhari loyalists, who was recently elected governor in one of the Northern states.
The architects of the plot are justifying their actions to sideline Tinubu because they see him as a threat and an obstacle to their plans of fostering a Northern agenda on the party.
Recently, the Convener, Majeobaje Movement, a Yoruba socio-cultural group that supported Buhari in the last election, Chief Akintayo Akin-Deko, spoke of the growing discomfort of the North with Tinubu’s influence.
Akin-Deko said: “Already, we are getting complaints from the Federal level that there is a threat to Yorubalize National politics”.
Political watchers have before now predicted a clash of interests between the two factions in the party, saying the Buhari-led northern faction, which is historically conservative and believes in maintaining the present old order, which favours them, while the South-west bloc, led by Tinubu, has always been progressive-minded.
Others say Buhari’s silence on the need to restructure the country speaks volumes about his resolve to carry on promoting the Northern agenda in running the country.
There are insinuations that Tinubu and the Yoruba APC leaders may have played into the hands of Buhari and the Northern ‘hawks’, who had never hidden their desire to capture power by all means. They are now set to scheme out the Tinubu group and ultimately incapacitate them politically.
Meanwhile, there are strong indications that the South-East geopolitical zone might be sidelined in the zoning formula of the APC as regards the position of Secretary to the Government (SGF) of the Federation because of Tinubu’s endorsement of Chief Audu Ogbeh for the position.

According to a captive recently freed from Boko Haram, the terrorist group usually had inside information on the operations of the Nigerian Army.
Teenager, Zahra Umoru said that the terrorists always knew when the soldiers were advancing on them and had enough time to flee with their captives before the troops arrived.
“When they captured us, we were taken to a house in Gwoza. When they heard soldiers were in Madagali, they took us to Peta where we lived under trees," Umoru told Journalists at Malkohi, a camp for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Yola, Adamawa state.
"We don’t know how Boko Haram gets its information, but they always know when the soldiers are coming. If there’s something like that, they just tell us to pack our things and run. The night we left Gwoza, we just finished cooking, but we were not allowed to eat the food; we were just packed and left,” she added.
Nigerian soldiers have rescued almost 1000 women and children after an operation in Sambisa Forest, a notorious Boko Haram stronghold.

Chadian President, Idriss Deby, has said that even if he knows where Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau is, he wouldn’t reveal his whereabouts.
Deby made the statement on Monday, May 11, 2015, while speaking to journalists in Abuja, Nigeria.
“I cannot tell you today that I know where Shekau is hiding ‎and even if I knew, I won’t tell you” the Chadian President said according to Vanguard.
Deby had earlier said that he knew where Shekau was and urged the terrorist boss to give himself up.
Chad has deployed about 2,500 soldiers to Nigeria to aid in the fight against Boko Haram.
Deby also explained that he was in Nigeria to consult with President Goodluck Jonathan on the fight against terrorism.

In his tweet, the former Aristokrat Records act threatened to hospitalize or kill any blogger who writes wrong things about him.

TENSION is mounting at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka following a letter addressed to the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Joseph Ahaneku by the president of the Students Union Government, SUG, Mr. Noble Eyisi over some perceived anomalies in the institution.
As the students were circulating the letter in the campus,Tuesday, security operatives tried as much as they could to mop up the document, but it was late as most people in the university community had got copies of it.
In the letter, several allegations were leveled against the VC by the SUG, most of which bordering on corrupt tendencies.
For instance, the SUG alleged that for the first time, Year 1 students were asked to pay the sum of N7500 for what the school management called ‘Biometric Capturing fee’, adding that with about 6000 students admitted this session paying the amount, the sum of N45 million was collected and wondered what the money has been used for .
The students’ union president also demanded to know how the students union dues paid annually were utilized because, according to him, the students who are the sole owners of the money have been demanding to know how much is in the account.
Other demands of the students include reasons behind the hike of the post-UME fee from N1000 to N2000 by the present management of the university, why the management objected to the food price of N150 per plate initiated by the SUG, why SUG officials were not paid allowances as obtainable in other tertiary institutions and why the VC initiates and carries out policies that directly affect the students without consulting them.

The letter said: “Our dear VC, the students are the bedrock of any university. We demand that you take us as your utmost priority. As this is a federal institution and in view of the trending change and zero corruption in Nigeria through our president –elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, we demand a transparent system and a complete students- oriented government.”

EX-Bayelsa State Governor, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha is seeking a return to the Government House on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), it was learnt yesterday.
The former Governor was impeached on December 9, 2005, two years into his second term in office, over allegations of acts of malfeasance.
It was also gathered that an ex-Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chief Timi Alaibe, is interested in the APC ticket ahead of the 2016 governorship election.
But a former Secretary of the Ijaw Youth Council and one time student union leader, Comrade Captain Ozu, has flayed the rumoured ambition of Alamieyeseigha’s quest to return to government house, saying it bothers strictly on greed.
He said, “Most of these so-called leaders are broke and have become liabilities both to themselves and members of their family. If you check very well, the only reason why these men want to get power is to enable them enhance their economic well-being. The aim is not to serve the people but to serve their pocket. Bayelsans are not fools. We know their antecedents and when the time comes, we will disgrace them at the polls”
Others said to be eyeing the party’s ticket include APC chieftain and former Governor Timipre Sylva; former Health Commissioner Frank Akpoebi; Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Power Godknows Igali and APC State Chairman Tiwe Oruminighe.
It was learnt that Preye Aganaba (aka Prince of Odi), who lost his senatorial bid, is being prepared by Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi to go for the party’s ticket.
A source, who spoke in confidence, said Alamieyeseigha, the state’s first elected governor, was nurturing his ambition to return to the Creek Haven, the sobriquet for the Government House in Yenagoa, on the platform of APC.
The source said the former governor and Igali are plotting to wrest power from the Governor Seriake Dickson.
It was learnt that the duo had been meeting in the last two weeks in Abuja to finetune their plots.
The source added that both men met last Friday at the late Oronto Douglas’ home, after a condolence visit, to discuss their plan.
Alamieyeseigha became governor in 1999 and was re-elected for a second term in 2003.
But he was embroiled in allegations of corruption and money laundering.
He was impeached by the House of Assembly, prosecuted and convicted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Alamieyeseigha was succeeded by his deputy, incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan, in 2005.
The ex-governor got the President’s State pardon on March 12, 2013.
The source said: “Alamieyeseigha is eyeing the governorship seat. His plan is to make a return to the seat of power in 2016. He has been holding a series of meetings with some APC stalwarts.
“He is assuring the APC leadership that with him at the helm, the militants would feel comfortable. He is saying Governor Dickson is not liked by former militants, citing the clash between the governor and ex-agitators over pipeline contracts.”
But when reminded that President-elect Muhammadu Buhari has a zero tolerance for corruption and may not allow the like of Alameiyesegha to become candidates of the party, the source said the former governor is banking on his closeness to some APC leaders.
The source said: “He is banking on his relationship with some national leaders of the APC to market him to Buhari because he knows that ordinarily, the President-elect would not give him a chance, regardless of the Presidential pardon granted him.
“But we know that Dickson still stands a good chance of retaining his seat in 2016, given his performance and strong progressive contacts within the APC as a former member and leader in the Alliance for Democracy (AD).”
But another source in the APC said the state leadership of the party had placed an embargo on the influx of defectors pending the swearing in of the President-elect.
Without the embargo, he said a gale of defections to the APC would have hit the PDP in the state.
“Major PDP stakeholders are warming up to join the APC in the state. We are going to be busy welcoming them. Most of them will be coming with governorship ambitions,” the source added.

A British man has been arrested for duping Nigerian businessmen of the sum of N70 million under the pretext of supplying them diesel.

Before now, most Internet fraud are inexplicably linked to Nigerians but in this case of international large scale scam, a British man, Saheed Muhammad Cameran, has been nabbed forduping several Nigerian business men to the tune of N70 million naira.
The 48-year-old Camaren who is of Asian ancestry but born in the UK, was arrested by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), of the Lagos State Police Command for defrauding seven Nigerian businessmen of the sum under the pretext of supplying them diesel.

The international con man was arrested at the Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Ikeja, as he was about boarding a plane and fleeing the country after he had fleeced the business men of their hard earned money.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Kenneth Nwosu, confirmed the arrest of Camaren and said the case has been transferred to the Special Fraud Unit of the command to commence investigations.
