Femi Anikulapo-Kuti has made some startling disclosures about his relationship with his father, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, and his ambitions for him. The legendary afrobeat singer » says the late Afrobeat pioneer wanted him to forfeit his education for music and become an ‘area boy’. Femi says that Fela used him as a guinea pig to prove that formal education had no sway on being a success in life. Speaking during an interview with The Net , Femi said, “My father didn’t want me to study music because I was more of an experimental guinea pig to prove a point that you do not need education to be successful and he wanted to use me to prove to his brothers that the education he got was not what made him. “So I was like a guinea pig which I really vehemently protested against but when I became successful and I complained again, my father said ‘are you famous? Are you not successful? Oya shut up.’ “But I was still very angry because I’m more of a street boy. I may speak well, it’s because I read a lot of books and I’m very well informed but my father wanted me to be more like an area boy. “Back then if I got back from school and said I got ZERO in Mathematics, he’ll say that’s very good. “I used to be among the bad boys in school that’ll jump the fence to go and watch Chinese movies at the cinema and if we get caught and my father hears about it, he’ll say ‘very good’. “My father wanted me to be the head of the ‘most baddest boys’ in school (laughs). “If I did well in my science subjects, he was very unimpressed but if I did bad things, he’ll be like ‘that’s my boy’ because that’s what he wanted and in the long run you could say he proved and made his point because I became successful." In a way, Fela made a point as Femi who was once written off due to his wayward lifestyle, turned out to be a success in the end. Femi adds, “I didn’t get the education and my mum, his brothers were all so scared that I’ll be a complete failure. Nigeria wrote me off, you can’t imagine how big my father was in those days and then his first son (me) had no school, no education, smoking igbo, doing all the bad things everyone else was running from. “I was totally written off. Back then If a girl introduces me to her parents they’ll be the end of the relationship, even my marriage broke up because of such stigmas of being Fela’s son. “So if you look at it well, I’m not supposed to be successful, but those that know my history know the significance because I was a failure,” he added. Femi is the eldest of seven children born to Fela Kuti and has rebranded what the late legend stood for yet creating the same quality and genre of music. Chairman of the University Of Calabar Academic Staff Union Of Universities (ASUU), Tony Eyang, has said the union will not back down until its demands are met. ASUU commenced a two-week warning strike on Wednesday, November 16, in protest of the Federal Government's refusal to implement the 2009 Memorandum of Understanding with the Union among other issues. Speaking to Vanguard on Thursday, Eyang expressed regrets that the Union had to resort to the industrial action. "We are avowed to our responsibility to the future of this country; it is regrettable that over and over again we get to this point but what we have resolved to do is that government does the needful and we will not surrender even if it means our embarking on a total and indefinite strike for years." According to him, the union has made several efforts to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari , Minister of Education and the National Assembly to present to them a firsthand view of what is going on in the education sector but their efforts have been unsuccessful. He said: "When the present government came into office, ASUU exercised a lot of patience, a lot of understating as a form a support to the government and we indicated intention to have an audience with the President who is the visitor to all the federal universities, the Minister of Education and the National Assembly so as to make government see the need to address these pending issues but that has not been granted up till now." Eyang added that the government never showed any commitment to address any of the issues being agitated by the union including those that do not involve money like the low subvention to the universities and the Treasury Single Account, which are stifling the universities and have turned the lecturers to beggars as salaries are not paid in full for several months. "There is a new form of slavery where university teachers are not given what they are entitled to which implies that the federal government has unilaterally reached a decision to reduce the entitlement of academic staff of universities which of course is against the labour law," Eyang said. He said the subventions to the universities have fallen in the past ten months, which, according to him, has increasingly made the universities unable to pay the full entitlement of its workers. A racist Facebook post about Michelle Obama has sparked a furious backlash which saw a West Virginia mayor forced to resign. The First Lady was branded an "ape in heels" in a vile social media post comparing her to president-elect Donald Trump's wife Melania. Following the Republican candidate's victory, Facebook user Pamela Ramsey Taylor, from the tiny town of Clay in West Virginia, praised the shift from Obama to Trump. She wrote: "It will be refreshing to have a classy, beautiful, dignified first lady back in the White House. "I'm tired of seeing an ape in heels." Beverly Whaling, Mayor of Clay, responded to the post, saying: "Just made my day Pam." The post and comments were subsequently deleted but were widely circulated online, sparking a furious backlash. An online petition calling for the women's ouster drew 150,000 signatures as of Tuesday afternoon. Whaling handed in her resignation, the Charleston Gazette-Mail reported. In a statement to The Washington Post, Whaling apologised and said her comment was not intended to be racist. "I was referring to my day being made for change in the White House! I am truly sorry for any hard feeling this may have caused!" she wrote. Taylor also resigned from her role as a director of Clay County Development Corp, a government-funded nonprofit, on Friday. Clay is a town of some 500 people about 25 miles northeast of state capital Charleston. It has no African American residents, according to the 2010 census. In Clay County as a whole, more than 98% of its 9,000 residents are white, the BBC reported More:www.newskingz.com/forums/topic/sparks-ignitemayor-resigns-as-racist-brands-michelle-obama-ape-in-heels/

Donald Trump was born in Pakistan and raised as a Muslim, according to a bizarre theory spreading across the internet. Thousands of social media users claim the US president-elect was born in lawless North Waziristan in 1946 and named Dawood Ibrahim Kham. People have even said a photo of a little blonde boy pictured in the country in the early 1950s proves the weird ideology. Trump - 'aka Kham' - was apparently educated in Madrassa until a car accident killed his parents in 1954. He was then fostered by a retiring British Indian Army captain, who took him to London, where he was adopted by the Trump family in 1955. Broadcaster Neo News shared the story alongside several posts on social media, as the host announced: “Believe it or not, presidential candidate Donald Trump was born in Pakistan and not in America.” If the statement is true it would render Trump, 70, ineligible to be president of the United States as the US Constitution says the nation’s leader has to be a “natural born citizen.” Trump came under fire during his election campaign after repeatedly saying that President Barack Obama, 55, was not a US citizen even though he was born in Hawaii to a Kenyan dad After he continued to call on Obama to show his birth certificate it seems the tables have turned, as thousands of people are saying Trump must do the same. People also want him to take a DNA test. North Waziristan is a notorious hotbed of Islamist militancy and a haven for groups such as al-Qaida and the Taliban. The odd theory has spread after Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin vowed to tackle terror group ISIS this week. Less than a week after the billionaire’s election, the Kremlin said Putin called Trump yesterday to begin negotiations over how best to tackle to terrorism. The Russian is reported to have said he is ready for... On Thursday, November 10, 2016, the President-Elect Donald Trump met the President of the United States » , Barack Obama at the White House. The two men who in the past have had no love for each other spent 90 minutes in the Oval Office talking about the nation. After the close door meeting, the Trump and Obama came out and addressed the media about their private conversation. "I had been very encouraged by the, I think, interest in President-elect Trump’s wanting to work with my team around many of the issues that this great country faces. And I believe that it is important for all of us, regardless of party and regardless of political preferences, to now come together, work together to deal with the many challenges that we face " said President Obama. Donald Trump on his part said " I very much look forward to dealing with the president in the future, including counsel. He’s — he explained some of the difficulties, some of the high-flying assets, and some of the — some of the really great things that have been achieved. " While both men remained cordial and respectful their body gestures told a different story entirely. Here are the three body gestures from Trump and Obama's talk to the media. 1) Obama doesn't acknowledge Trump The President of the United States did not look at Donald Trump until after the 1:45 second mark in the video. If you really admire someone and like the person's personality you would make eye contact with person a lot. Obama didn't look at his former adversary till after 100 seconds. This shows that Obama does not really regard Donald Trump. 2) Trump steepling his hands Steepling is the act of placing your hands or fingers together so that they create an upward-pointing V-shape. According to body language experts, this is used to intimidate people. This has been Donald Trump's signature gesture for years. However, if you notice Trump's steeple is downward not upward which reveals he is paying respect to Obama's position as President. 3) Eye blocking When Donald Trump was speaking to the press, Obama would close his eyelids for a long time. This is known as eye blocking. When you don't like what someone is saying we close our eyelids and try to block out the person's image and words from our minds Credit: pulse Source: www.newskingz.com/forums/topic/3-body-gestures-that-prove-obama-and-trump-dont-like-each-other/

Following the death of a long-serving staff of United Parcel Service, UPS, other members of staff have begun to protest » their work conditions and payments. The victim identified as Mr Anthony Ojo reportedly slumped and died on Friday, November 11, Daily Post reports. According to another staff of the company, the late Ojo had given dedicated service for 23 years. “This is a sad day for those of us who know him. Mr Ojo worked tirelessly. He is a father of 5, including a set of twins. He usually worked till late and resumed early every morning just to clear pending tasks. “His death while on duty is generating anger from most staff. Honestly, UPS does not really treat its staff well; you can ask others. Management owes us bonuses, no staff bus, despite the stress, while other benefits are delayed. “Contract staff suffer and dispatch riders suffer most. A non-permanent staff take home N60,000. Riders don’t earn up to N50,000. A whole UPS!” The source who pleaded anonymity told Daily Post that the deceased suddenly complained that he was unable to move while on duty. “Those that were still at work rushed to assist him. Within minutes, he slumped and died before getting to the hospital. He resumed from sick leave on Wednesday. I’m sure he couldn’t afford to stay at home longer for fear of losing his job or salary cut,” he said. While admitting that the deceased may have died of what seems to be natural causes, another source complained that the company did little to cater for its staff. “I heard our late colleague was hypertensive. Perhaps, he could have managed it well if the remuneration or HMO package for staff was better. “For instance, earlier in the year, UPS management told us that there was no productivity bonus for 2015, only for them to pay same in October 2016 after evidences showed we made profit. “This is a multinational company where a staff’s wife was sick and admitted in a hospital. His insurance covered N100,000 but he needed about N100,000 as loan more to clear the bill. The Managing Director, Ralph Ozuode turned it down!" The UPS Human Resource Manager, Seyi Fasanya , when contacted on the issue by Daily Post, claimed that the company was handling the complaints. “On the death, I was called last (Friday) night from the office and directed that arrangements be made to take him to the hospital. Unfortunately he didn’t make it. “On our HMO, the staff complained about the initial company. We then changed to another but it appears the complaints won’t stop." He added, “We are aware that staff have concerns and usually meet with them. There are issues we disagree on but we hope to rectify”. May the soul of the deceased rest in peace. Rice farmers in Plateau are optimistic of a bumper harvest this year with their chairman, Mr Joshua Bitrus, boasting that members would garner “ at least one million tonnes”. “This year’s harvest is plentiful; from what we have seen on ground, we expect nothing less than one million tonnes of rice in Plateau ,” Bitrus, Chairman, Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RiFAN), Plateau chapter, said in Jos on Sunday. He spoke in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN). The RiFAN Chairman attributed the feat to personal efforts of the farmers and the support from the state government. He commended the Federal Government’s efforts towards boosting rice production, and declared that rice production would tripple in Plateau, when the Anchor Borrowers Scheme takes off. “ I must commend government for the Anchor Borrowers Scheme, initiated by the Central Bank of Nigeria, which will be test-run in Plateau during the dry season farming. “We have identified 1,065 hectares of land across the state; the areas are close to water because water is crucial to rice farming. “The planting will commence in the first week of December, while harvest starts by March next year .” According to him, the success of the pilot scheme will boost farmers’ morale and shore up interest in the scheme. Bitrus also commended the ban on the importation of rice, noting that it had encouraged local farmers. He opined that with the quantity of rice being harvested in many parts of the country, the pains rice consumers went through when the price rose up, would reduce as the prices would drop considerably. The chairman disclosed that a 50kg bag of rice sold at N23,000 in the southern part of Plateau last month, curently sells at between N12,000 and N15,000. He expressed hope that the price would remain at that level so that farmers could get “something reasonable for their efforts and be encouraged to cultivate more in coming years”. Bitrus, however, expresed the fear that middlemen might invade Plateau and mop up the rice at very cheap rates. “ We have reported our fears to the state Ministry of Agriculture who briefed the governor and encouraged him to approve some measures. “It is a bit late but not too late because we have barns and silos in local governments. The state government can buy, store and re-sale the rice to citizens in times of food shortage or scarcity, ” he added. He noted that rice could be kept for more than five years if properly stored, and advised farmers against hurried sales that could only perpetuate the circle of hardship and poverty that had been their lot over the years. Remember, early diagnosis is the best.... Cancer has no symptoms at the beginning because lumps have to start growing fron sonewhere right ![]() In the link above, we will give you a break down of symptoms, causes, cure and prevention of cancer |
Cancer is a group of diseases involving abnormal cell growth with the potential to invade or spread to other parts of the body. Not all tumors are cancerous; benign tumors do not spread to other parts of the body. These cell divisions are limitless, that is there is no limit to how many or how much they can grow inside your body. Possible signs and symptoms may include a lump, abnormal bleeding, severe cough, weight loss and a change in bowel movements. While these symptoms may indicate cancer, they may have other causes. Over 100 types affect humans. Major cancers can be prevented by non-smoking habits, maintaining a healthy weight(dieting),less consumption of alcohol , eating plenty of vegetables, fruits and whole grains, vaccination against major infectious diseases, less consumption processed and red meat, and avoiding too much sunlight exposure(ultraviolet rays). Early detection through screening is useful for cervical and colorectal cancer. The benefits of screening in breast cancer are controversial. This disease is often treated with some combination of radiation therapy, surgery, chemotherapy, and targeted therapy. Pain and symptom management are an important part of care. Palliative care is particularly important in people with advanced disease. The chance of survival depends on the type of cancer and extent of disease at the start of treatment. In children under 15 at diagnosis the five-year survival rate in the developed world is on average 80%. For cancer in the United States the average five-year survival rate is 66%... A man, Valdelom Alvim who lives in the Porto Nacional municipality of Brazil, has erected a house using Styrofoam in a bid to avoid paying house rent. He found motivation to do this following the birth of his daughter, a development that led to a sudden rise of family expences While the project was going on, the curiosity of his neighbours became really intense according to his wife, Maria Amélia de Abreu . “It was a little bashful, until the issue of people get looking, making mockery of us. Then I saw that you can do a good reuse. Today I live in a house that, in my view, is environmentally friendly. I’m impressed,” “[I want] to be happy in my house, with my family, my husband, my daughter. Have a very happy home, which is what I always sought,” she said. Speaking concerning the cost of his project, Alvim said, “I had to buy cement, sand and screws. I spent R $ 2.5000.” For Alvim, what is considered rubbish and unusable by the city has been a source of shelter for him and his family. www.newskingz.com/forums/topic/man-erects-house-with-styrofoam-to-avoid-paying-rent/

Add this to the pile of conspiracy theories surrounding the US presidential election : Nostradamus predicted Donald Trump's shock victory - but with a chilling consequence. Conspiracy theorists claim the 16th century prophet saw it coming - something the pollsters failed to do - and predicted the election result would lead to the end of the world through a catastrophic war. They're quoting two different predictions which refer to a "great shameless, audacious brawler" taking control of the army and a breakout of "nuclear combat". Trump, the Republican candidate, will be inaugurated as the 45th president of the US on January 20 after upsetting Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in Tuesday night's historic vote www.newskingz.com/forums/forum/politics/ |
These days, it is common among men to let loose quickly and easily, this doesnt just affect the men involved, also the women get pained. Premature bomb is a very serious case, and leads to a bad and unhealthy sex life. They can't control their junk, and sex suffers as a result. Brennen Belich is one chap whose "dingies" hasn't always played ball. So he's invented a helpful app in a bid to jinx unruly packages into lasting longer. Pea,as it is called looks to sharpen a man's "arousal control". "Arousal control is arguably the most important factor for controlling prebomb," Brennen explains on his website. "Most prebombers are already at the end of their sweet ride during kissing or pre-intimacy, and they reach the point of no return immediately after penetration." Pea helps to train lads into enjoying sex a little more through a variety of practices. It harnesses methods that are apparently recommended by sex therapists The app even lets you track your results. "Don’t let the urge to ejaculate take over," says the Pea website. "If it does, stop all stimulation. Bring your arousal right back down, and start from the beginning of the rollercoaster." If you're a little perturbed by all this, take note that one in three men experience premature ejaculation. The Medical Journal reports that letting fly in under three minutes is considered early. Pea's creator, Brennan, told Product Hunt that he was! inspired to create the app because he himself often found himself 'finishing up' a little sooner than he – and his partner – would've liked. He says: "I started this project while trying to solve the issue for myself. "I had struggled with premature ejaculation since high school and finally at age 23 decided I didn’t want it to ruin my love life anymore. (Turns out girls like to be intimate for more than 30 seconds...)." Brennan adds that he talked to doctors, sex therapists, and authors and finally overcame the issue. He says practising for sex is much the same as training to run. "Treating premature ejaculation is very simple, but not easy," says Brennan. "Just think of it like training for a race. If you want to be able to run for 30 minutes straight, you wouldn't train by sprinting for two minutes, getting tired and giving up. You would jog then take a break, jog more then take another break. "Repeating this each day – or a few times a week – until eventually you could run for 30 minutes straight. This same theory applies to sex. Unfortunately no one teaches men how to train for sex... "Well now there’s an app for that." Also, as men are sometimes reluctant to get help, Pea lets you anonymously send friends a tip-off to urge them to give it a go. 1.All babies are born too early Accordingly, some pediatricians label a baby's first three months of life as the "fourth trimester" of pregnancy to emphasize how needy, and yet devoid of social skills, babies are at this stage. The first social smile, for example, doesn't usually appear until the infant is 10-14 weeks old and the first phase of attachment, scientists suggest, begins around five months old. Some evolutionary biologists theorize that newborns are socially inept – and have an annoying cry – so that parents won't get too emotionally attached while the baby has an increased likelihood of dying. Of course, crying also gets a baby the attention he needs to survive. 2.Parental responses wire baby's brain "As long as there have been babies, there have been parents, The baby's brain has evolved to use the responses of caregivers to help it develop. The newborn prefrontal cortex – the brain's so-called "executive" area – doesn't have much control, so efforts to discipline or worries about spoiling are pointless at this stage. Instead, newborns are learning about hunger, loneliness, discomfort and fatigue – and what it feels like to have these pains relieved. Caregivers can help this process along by promptly responding to baby's needs, experts suggest. Not that a baby can be kept from crying. In fact, all babies, no matter how responsive their parents are, have a period of peak crying around the gestational age of 46 weeks. (Most babies are born between 38 and 42 weeks.) some early wails are tied to physical development, noting that across cultures crying peaks at the same point after conception, independent of when the baby makes its entrance into the world. That is, a premature baby, born at 34 weeks, will reach her peak crying point at around 12 weeks old, while a full-term baby, born at 40 weeks, will cry the most at around 6 weeks old. 3.Silly faces and sounds are important When babies imitate the facial expressions of their caregivers, it triggers the emotion in them as well, This helps infants build on their basic innate understanding of emotional communication and may explain why parents tend to make exaggerated happy and sad faces at their little ones, making them easier to imitate. Parentese, or baby talk, is another seemingly instinctual response that researchers have found is critical to infant development. Its musicality and exaggerated, slow structure emphasizes critical components of a language, helping a baby grasp words. 4.Baby's brain grows like evolution on steroids When first born, the brains of humans, apes and Neanderthals are much more similar than they will be by adulthood. After birth, the human brain grows rapidly, more than doubling to reach 60 percent of its adult size by the time the tot is sampling his first birthday cake. By kindergarten, the brain has reached its full size but it may not finish developing until the kid is in his mid-20s "the brain never stops changing, for better or worse." Some scientists speculate that the changes in the developing infant brain mirror, on a rapid scale, the changes that have been shaped over eons of evolution. 5.Educational DVDs, tapes, etc. are worthless While from birth babies may cry with the intonations of their mother tongue, recent research emphasizes that social responses are fundamental to a child's ability to fully learn language. "Babies divide up the world between things that respond to them and things that don't," Goldstein said. And things that don't, don't teach. A recording does not follow a baby's cues, which is why infant DVDs, such as Baby Einstein and Brainy Baby, have been found to be ineffective, he explained. If you want to help your baby to be smart, throw out the flashcards and videos, and play with your baby. more:http://www.newskingz.com/2016/10/24/11-facts-know-babys-brain/

Conjoined twins are identical twins who are physically connected. Normally, identical twins form when an embryo splits in two shortly after fertilization. But with conjoined twins, this separation process ends before it is completed, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center. The embryos of identical twins start to separate around eight to 12 days after forming. It’s thought that if this separation process starts later than this, between 13 and 15 days after fertilization, it results in conjoined twins, according to the Mayo Clinic. There is also a theory that conjoined twins can result from an egg that first splits completely, but then joins back together, according to Seattle Children’s Hospital. Conjoined twins occur in about one out of every 200,000 live births, and many do not survive the first day of life, the University of Maryland says. Researchers estimate that 40 to 60 percent of conjoined twins are stillborn Craniopagus twins are rare, making up only 2 percent of conjoined twin cases, the University of Maryland says. The craniopagus-separation surgery performed on the McDonald twins was the 59th such surgery in the world since 1952, according to CNN. note: please do take this seriously source:http://www.newskingz.com/2016/10/24/causes-twins-coinjoined/
