Business / Re: Dangote Refinery Ramps Up Production With US Crude – Bloomberg by Victor468: 12:49pm On Apr 19
It meant cheap crude oil from the US. Nigeria cannot meet Dangote crude oil demand for now or else it won't be able to supply other merchants who have booked ahead. So, Dangote refinery gets some quantity from Nigeria and others from abroad.
Cantonese:
Hm.

“ The 650,000 barrels per day Dangote Petroleum Refinery is taking advantage of cheaper oil imports from the United States for as much as a third of its feedstock as it starts up production”.

Cheaper oil imports from the United States? Abi I no see or read well?

If PO thinks that he can be declared winner of the presidential election, he should think again. In a worst case scenario, the election will be cancelled but can the tribunal take that risks? There is no vacuum in Governance. Will they be willing to put the country in state of uncertainty? If PBAT is sacked with his team, who will run things in the interim? Definitely not PO because he came distance 3rd.
So if the obedients think PO will be declared President, they, they will wait for a long time.

People like you don't study nor understand politics. It's not about Peter Obi nor his presumes saintly features that gave him the popularity in the last election. No sir. He barely joined Labour party in 9 months and you think he garner such popularity within that short period? Again NO. The factor that played out in the last election if you must know and accept are: 1.The #EndSars scenario. 2.The failure of the Buhari administration. 3.The stream of recycled politicians over the years (i.e Atiku and Tinubu). 4. The desire for change to a new party/candidate. However, Peter Obi would have made history if he had merged with PDP of NNPC. But no, he wanted to run a solo race. And in politics, numbers, alignment and lobbying play a big role. Also, Peter Obi like a typical Nigerian politician, jumped from one party to another for selfish interest (APGA to PDP then to LP), all different political ideologies. Which one would he have implemented if elected? Where is party faithfulness and loyalty? Those who have stuck to the party over the years because of their personal ideology, are they fools? Study past leaders, those who were loyal to the party always emerged victorious. Same applies to other clime. Moreover, Peter Obi could not penetrate the core north where the major votes are, so could he have won this last election? That is why Obi's legal battle in court cannot fly.He lost the election and no matter the evidences in his possession, he will loose the case in court.

Ofunaofu:

What are you fixing

I know you don't like the truth

But the truth will always remain and that truth is that Peter Obi, being the biggest political figure currently in Nigeria achieved the feat through integrity, competence, capacity and empathy.

Tinubu can only dream to be what Peter Obi has become.

Tinubu can never pull more than a million votes without engaging in criminal state capture, without the help of power of incumbency, without the help of state governors, without constructing a conduit pipe from the coffers of lagos State treasury to his personal company Alpha Beta milking the state dry.

Be realistic for once. On what basis would OBI or ATIKU will the court case? Both of them could not garner 25% in 24 states. Where will they start in proving their cases? The truth is all of them rigged the elections in their strong holds, just that Tinubu out rigged them.

truthCoder:
I am not Igbo.

I however believe that the Igbos have been marginalized too much in this country.

This should have been a chance by Tinubu to mend bridges.

I believe it could have been an oversight.

I am hoping that he learns from this and adjusts his future appointments to include a lot of the regions where he has no current support.

Finally, i hope either Peter Obi or Atiku wins the court cases.

Most times I wonder if my Igbo Elders and brothers would ever face reality in their lives for once. Over the years, they have always voted for PDP. But unfortunately PDP never ever rewarded them in any way for their loyalty; no major projects, no good roads, no infrastructure. Even the juicy positions they were given was not used to their advantage. APC took over from PDP, yet they stuck to their PDP. When it was time for PDP to reward their loyalty by zoning the last Presidency to them, some of them sold out to the north. Who should they blame for their predicament? Yet they cry wolf and shout marginalization.
I remember back before and after 2019 elections, Rochas Okorocha went around persuading the SE leaders to galvanize behind APC so that when the rotation returns to the south, the SE would have aligned for easy consideration. But their leaders tagged Okorocha a sold out. Are they not regretting it all now? Political positions is not served a' la carte, you need to lobby for it and earn it. Despite all their years of political failure, they still allowed sentiment shift their loyalty to LP in 2023, rather than conduct a critical analysis of their chances for future opportunities. I don't really understand how they want APC to include them in the current scheme of things when they blew off all their chances for alignment. Even Orji Uzor Kalu, sponsored a Northerner in APC primaries against a Southerner, yet he is asking for Senate President so as to pacify the SE? Who will give it to him? Has he forgotten so soon all his antecedents?
It's a pity, my Igbo Elders and Brothers still have a lot to learn in politics. The SS are more dependable than SE and am sure they will be rewarded in Tinubu administration.

I agree with you totally!

Throwback:
More like Tinubu inherited the hatred Igbos have for Buhari.

In fact, the main reason for the hatred Igbos have for Tinubu is that he made Buhari President.

But it has now been doubled by the fact that Tinubu defeated an Igbo candidate, despite that Igbos swore to ensure a Yoruba would not become President again before them.

Alas, they must embrace the reality of their situation.

Igbo votes cannot make one President, and Igbo votes cannot prevent one from being President.

Yes, her response may be to another tweet. Unfortunately, there is no comparison between men and women in this instance. Our society can never accept this from any woman. Even men that engage in extra marital affairs do so intentionally, it's not by mistake. They could blame the devil for their acts when it backfire but they did it intentionally. It takes process and time to pursue a lady and get her to have sex with you. Except of course if the lady is a sex worker, then it could be quick. But the man initiated the communication which led to the act.
So, if a woman wants to get back to her husband and engage in such act, she should be ready to quit the marriage. No sane man will ever take it when his wife cheats on him. To proof it's a mistake will be an Herculous task.

Ethanuella:
Her tweet is merely in response to what the society tell women whose spouse(s) cheat and have kids outside their marriages. The society will always tell the woman to pray, endure, and try to live up to her cheating husbands’ standard. They will even tell her to accept the kids her husband has outside the marriage as hers.

If the table turns, men wouldn’t take such, and that’s what the actress is trying to paint.

What I don't understand is this. How come the same presidential election they termed rigged, is the same election that produced the Senate and Rep member. Yet those results were not contested. If for any instant, the presidential election is upturned, will those elections be upturned as well? That would have been the reasonable thing to do.

Politics / Re: APC’s Propaganda Machine Can’t Stop Us From Reclaiming Mandate – Obi by Victor468: 8:48pm On Apr 02, 2023
The difference is that Tinubu didn't campaign religious line. He kept religion out of his campaign because he know his choice of a Muslim VP didn't sink in with most people especially Christian. He tried to explain his choice but Christians were already bias and wouldn't accept his reasons. However, Obi made his campaign obvious along religious line. Some of us saw through it and refused to be swayed by that.
In general, Obi didn't Garner the required 25% in the core North that may have given him the presidency. How could he have been declared winner? Even if a rerun is made, he will still be unable to get the required voted from the core North and wouldn't still win. That is a fact.

LP didn't win the election. They came third, which in a way was expected.

APC lost, but ended up winning because 1) LP, NNPP and the G5 , all factions in a way of PDP, split the oppostion vote 2) APC stayed united despite opposition within the party to Tinubu. 3) most African elections are lost by the opposition when they are divided 4) rigging does not explain how APC lost the three K states, Lagos, and even the FCT and Osun....and a swathe of the middle belt, and even part of the North east 5) Obi did not campaign well and hard enough, and did not reach out to the Muslim north, and inadvertedly made himself the christian candidate 6) APC and PDP are like Cocacola in terms of advertising.

Politics / Re: Go To Court Is A Metaphor That Symbolises Impunity - Kola Ologbondiyan by Victor468: 12:22pm On Mar 24, 2023
I wonder why some people reason. Do they realize that the INEC Chairman saved us a lot of trouble that would have arose by not stopping the process of announcing the result? We would have been in a quagmire by now if the process had been stopped. The collation of results from states were still in process when Dino Melaye called for the cancellation. As at that time, no one new who would win while call for the cancellation?
Instead of halting the process, the INEC Chairman told them to go to court because that is where their objections will be entertained not at the collation center. I don't think lots of people realize the bottleneck it will take to have stopped the collation when it was called for; waiting to verify each claim presented from PU to PU, LGA to LGA and State to State. It would have created a crisis that would have been difficult to resolve.
The parties are at the court with all their evidences, lets allow the court process to take it course.

NaijaSumigan:
Absolutely! Go to court means no justice. They believed they own the court. Let's see what the Nigerian Judiciary will do as it concerns this case. The world is watching.

Even the court can't say Tinubu should be declared as President without sorting out all necessary issues. Why did INEC Chairman hurriedly mentioned Tinubu as the winner despite the fact that IREV couldn't upload results as promised.

No explanation when Dino Melaye openly questioned Mamood. Mamood knew his game plan, kept mute without any explanation. I don't see Tinubu winning this. No matter how far they think they can confuse the people, GOD has exposed them all.

The method INEC used is very disgraceful and extremely dubious. No explanation to the people when they asked you, you kept telling them in the middle of the game to go to court.

What a stupid INEC Chairman. It shows he lacks the experience to rig despite they planned rigging and GOD exposed them through the loopholes.

They all messed up with the wrong man which is PETER OBI (Our President).

Tinubu, you're a thief and you surely know this.

Yorubalandlord:
Look at what APC has turned yoruba into, because according to them "Igbos taunted" and like cry babies they decided to throw tantrum. Now we know what APC/Yoruba mumu button is. Trust that the button will be pressed countless time, maybe one day, yorubas will burn Lagos down with everything in it because 'Igbos are calling Lagos a No Man's Land' according to them. I've never seen this childishness in my entire life, and trust me I have lived quite long.

APC on behalf of Yorubas have opened Pandora's box. They can blame Igbo all the want, but every other ethnic group they have offended with their barbarism know where the fault lies. They know who turned them away from exercising their rights to vote. And it isn't Igbo.

Jesus this is so disheartening, can't believe this.
We yorubas aren't like this before Apc came into our lives, we were a sophisticated tribe and accommodators, what happened to that?

I am not Yoruba but truth be told. If you have been in Lagos for a while and claim ignorance about Igbo boasting of owning lagos, then your ears were not on ground. Igbos have the money no doubt and they've been doing business and buying properties all around, Lagos in particular. Erroneously, their prosperity have gotten into their heads to the extent that they believe they can determine what happens in lagos. No! The emergence of Peter Obi was an avenue for them to want to take over Lagos and determine what happens therein. The failure of APC government at the Federal level spurned many voters to vote against them in the last election. But on the other hand, it was a vote against Tinubu, a Yoruba man. Yes even the Yoruba's voted against Tinubu in the Presidential election which was a reflection of voting against APC central. But when it came to the Governorship election, that was local. If same thing was allowed to happen, it may indicate interference from other tribes sympathisers. Other tribes cannot in other states cannot interfer with their local politics talkless of trying to influence the outcome. Deep down, we know these tribal sentiments were there and it reflects in many aspects of our daily interactions but were not pronounced. Now, it has come to the fore. It may take a while to resolve it or it may lead to other consequences. Only God and time will tell. We all need to be careful how we flaunt ourselves in front of other people especially if we are doing better than them. Envy and jealousy may lead people to going the extra mile in order to cause you pain. This is the bitter truth.

Now the whole world have seen through us and what we are, just because of a simple election.

Let us not our those bad eggs among us, soil our name to the general public.
