PoliticsBuhari’s Aircraft Barred From Landing At Makurdi Airpo by viczing(op): 10:01pm On Nov 26, 2014
MAKURDI — A chartered aircraft conveying former Head of State and All Progressive Congress, APC, presidential aspirant, Gen. Mohammadu Buhari (rtd) and his entourage, was Wednesday allegedly denied landing rights by the authoriities of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, in Makurdi,  Benue State.
Vanguard gathered from a reliable source that Gen. Buhari, alongside his entourage, was travelling from Bayelsa State to Makurdi to woo delegates of his party ahead of the APC delegates congress scheduled for December but had their flight denied permission to touch down in Makurdi.
According to him, “the flight was earlier granted landing permission but we were all surprised when half an hour to his arrival a counter directive was issued mid-flight thereby forcing the aircraft to head to Abuja.
“What they did was evil and dangerous, what if the plane was low on fuel, what do you think would have happened? Desperation has set into our politics, and it is posing grave danger to our democracy.”
When contacted on phone, the Benue State Chairman of the APC, Comrade Abba Yaro confirmed the development describing it as unfortunate.
He explained that loyalists of the party who had laid siege at the airport Wednesday morning were disappointed and had to disperse when they learnt of the unfortunate development.
“We will certainly react to this ugly incident because what they have done was not only callous and wicked but also unacceptable in modern day Nigeria.”
All attempts to speak with officials of FAAN in Makurdi on the matter failed as they all declined to comment on the issue.

PoliticsPDP Warns APC Over Attacks On Jonathan by viczing(op): 5:29pm On Nov 26, 2014
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has said it will no longer condone what the party described as “deliberate, unwarranted and sustained vicious attacks” on President Goodluck Jonathan, the institutions of democracy by the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC.
In a statement Tuesday, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, said one of the deductions Nigerians would easily make from the attacks from APC is that the party has neither an agenda nor an issue to offer.
“Nigerians have waited for too long for the APC’s roadmap with convention after convention (two in less than a month) producing only humbug, claptrap and a regurgitation of worn- out, anachronistic clichés,” the PDP said.
“It is therefore clear that the APC is not preparing for elections, rather actively planning to scheme itself into power in 2015 using violent uprising as replacement for peaceful polls.
“Nevertheless, we wish to assure all Nigerians that the PDP is not willing to kowtow the APC in this road to infamy but will remain focused in jealously protecting the interest of the nation while serving and confidently campaigning and marketing its manifesto to Nigerians,” the party said.
Read parts of the statement below:
The PDP has been watching carefully as the rank and file of the APC, the governors, party leaders, presidential hopefuls and even sidekicks run amok, competing in a heavily subjective castigation of President Goodluck Jonathan with incendiary utterances, signposting its plans for the dastardly when it loses in next year’s general elections.
However, patriotism, the cardinal value of our great party, indeed, the price of our custodianship of the mandate of over 160 million Nigerians calls for vigilance, maturity and responsibility, hence our restraints in the face of the naked lies and recklessness of the APC.
We had thought that the silver hair of its top leaders would caution the thoughtless delinquency of its youngsters. Unfortunately, the recklessness of the old is in competition with the imprudence of the young. What a shame the APC has turned!” the statement said.
Our decent political campaigns focusing on the achievements of our party at various levels of government should have served as a pointer to the APC on the need to maintain political decorum and primacy of national interest in the build-up to the forthcoming elections.
It is however unfortunate that the APC has refused to shed its penchant for lies, deceit, propaganda, violence and blackmail as the center piece of their agenda and message to Nigerians.
This disposition has led the APC to work in cahoots with the enemies of Nigeria in an attempt to wreck our democracy and throw the nation into chaos, hence the urgency of the need to warn that enough is now enough.”
We know that the aim of the APC is to set the stage for violence, instil fear in Nigerians, discourage them from actively participating in the electoral process thereby giving room for them to perpetrate all manners of electoral malpractices (as evidenced by their cloning of the Permanent Voter Cards) which is the only way they may hope to achieve political power in Nigeria. This position is reinforced by their constant threat to cause violent pandemonium when they lose the elections.
Recall that today’s leaders of the APC had while contesting on different platforms in 2011, issued such threats and went ahead to precipitate an unprecedented electoral violence in which hundreds of innocent Nigerians lost their lives, yet, the same election was adjudged by local and international observers as the most credible in our recent history”
One must then ask. Is violence and inflammatory statements the manifesto of the APC? Is plotting against the oneness of the nation the party’s article of faith? Is the never-ending attempt to ridicule the highest office in the land a credo and an explanation of the alternative the APC is flaunting?
Nigerians may recall that on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Ilorin, Kwara State, the APC leaders with their Governors, converging for their usual revelry and self-indulging insults, delegated themselves and self-styled national leader to take stupidity to its apogee by asking President Jonathan to resign.
On November 19, APC leaders unfurled the much pinched wrap by declaring that they would lead a rebellion against President Jonathan and install a parallel government should APC lose next year’s presidential election. In less than 24hours, the APC National Chairman, Chief John Odigie Oyegun on November 21, on a live NTA morning programme, admitted that the APC knew what he called genuine leaders of Boko Haram and went childish by accusing the President of deliberately allowing insurgents take over the country”.

PoliticsObasanjo Rubbishes National Assembly, Says It’s An Assembly Of Thieves, Looters by viczing(op): 5:19pm On Nov 26, 2014
Nigeria’s former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, on Wednesday lampooned the National Assembly, saying it is largely an assemblage of looters and thieves.

Mr. Obasanjo, who was speaking at the public presentation of the autobiography of Justice Mustapha Akanbi, in Abuja, regretted that every aspect of Nigeria’s national life is riddled with corruption.

However, he said there were a few exceptions and people who stand out and would not succumb to the scourge of sleaze, even in the federal legislature.

In a speech he delivered at the public presentation of “The Story Of My Two Worlds; Challenges, Experiences And Achievements” written by Justice Akanbi, the pioneer chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Related Offences Commission, the former president said the National Assembly, which he said is shrouding its corruption in the opaque nature of its budget, has damaged its capacity to oversight the executive.

He accused the President Goodluck Jonathan-led executive of making direct payments to the legislature in order to cover up its wrong doings.

“Apart from shrouding the remunerations of the National Assembly in opaqueness and without transparency, they indulge in extorting money from departments, contractors and ministries in two ways,” Mr. Obasanjo said.

“They do so during visits to their projects and programmes and in the process of budget approval when they build up budgets for ministries and departments, who agree to give it back to them in contracts that they do not execute. They do similar things during their inquiries.”

Mr. Obasanjo said the Goodluck Jonathan’s administration has upped Nigeria’s corruption level through the huge sums of money it has been paying to the National Assembly to stop investigating its corrupt acts.

He said, “Corruption in the National Assembly also includes what they call constituency projects which they give to their agents to execute but invariably, full payment is made with little or no job done.

“In all this, if the executive is not absolutely above board, the offending members of the National Assembly resort to subtle or open threat, intimidation and blackmail. When the executive pay the huge money, normally in millions of dollars, all is quiet in form of whitewashed reports that fail to deal effectively with the issues investigated.”

The former president insisted that over the years, the National Assembly never singled out any corrupt lawmaker except where the executive led in the indictment of a member.

He listed some of the cases where the executive led in exposing corruption in the National Assembly to include those of former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Salisu Buhari, and former Senate President, Adolphus Wabara.

He maintained that majority of the members of the National Assembly live above the law in both misconduct and corruption and cannot in good conscience carry out oversight duties on any government ministry or department.

Mr. Obasanjo, however, noted that there are still some honourable and distinguished men and women in the National Assembly, who would not do anything to soil their hands.
He said with a largely corrupt legislature, Nigeria is doomed.

“When the guard is the thief, only God can keep the house safe and secure,” he said. “But I am optimistic that sooner than later, we will overcome.

“God will give us guards of integrity and honesty with the fear of God and genuine love of their people and their country.

“Today, there is no institution of government that is not riddled with corruption, not even the military. As the people cry out, where then is the salvation.”

The former president also drew attention to the growing level of youth unemployment in the country, warning that unless urgent steps are taken to address the situation, the country could implode.

Mr Obasanjo provided figures suggesting that out of the country’s estimated 178.5 million population, 70 per cent are below 30 years, with 54 per cent being unemployed.

“I have no doubt in my mind that youth unemployment, youth dissatisfaction and youth frustration were part of the causes of the so-called Arab Spring from which Libya and Egypt have not yet fully come out and which caused insecurity and instability in the whole of the Arab world.

“We must learn the right lessons and put in place, programmes that will address youth empowerment and youth employment, youth discontent and youth dissatisfaction and youth frustration to avoid youth anger and explosion generated there from,” Mr. Obasanjo said.

Nairaland GeneralSenators Initiate Move To Impeach Jonathan by viczing(op): 12:30pm On Nov 25, 2014
Some Peoples Democratic Party’s senators on Monday started impeachment moves against President Goodluck Jonathan over what they described as the high level of impunity and corruption allegedly being condoned by his administration.

Investigations by our correspondent revealed that the PDP senators had started compiling impeachable offences against the President.

An All Progressives Congress member of the Senate, who confided the development in our correspondent on the condition of anonymity, explained that his aggrieved PDP colleagues in the upper chamber had started reaching out to the opposition senators.

He said, “I was personally consulted this evening over the issue and I also cross-checked from my colleagues who also told me that they had been contacted.

“The grouse of the lawmakers, according to the person that contacted me, was that Jonathan’s handling of the last week Thursday’s invasion of the National Assembly by the police was carelessly handled by the Jonathan administration.

“From the look of things, the proceedings will start on Tuesday because some signatures had been collected already.”

Another senator from the PDP, who also craved anonymity, also confirmed the development to our correspondent stating that it was certain that the President was not capable of superintending over a free and fair election in 2015.

He said, “Our President is not in charge. We have seen that he had allowed the governors to hijack powers from him. He is just like a puppet and the earlier we act fast, the better for us.”

Meanwhile, opposition members in the Senate have threatened to raise the issue of the last Thursday’s invasion of the National Assembly by the security operatives, when the Senate resumes plenary today (Tuesday).

The spokesperson for the group, who is also the member representing Ekiti Central on the platform of the APC, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, gave the hint in a telephone interview with our correspondent in Abuja.

Ojudu said his colleagues were very annoyed with the ways they were maltreated and molested by the policemen, who were deployed in the National Assembly on the orders of the Inspector – General of Police.

He said majority of his members were of the opinion that the IGP should not be allowed to enter into the chambers, but should be asked to resign for allegedly ridiculing the federal lawmakers who had done nothing wrong other than going to carry out their lawful legislative activities.

He said, “We (APC Senators) are holding a crucial meeting this (Monday) night to take a final decision on the matter because majority of us are really angry. Some are even of the opinion that we should demand the resignation or sacking of the IGP.

“I can assure you that the issue of the National Assembly invasion by the police would be raised when we resume sitting tomorrow (Tuesday ), but we are going to take a single position on the matter at our meeting tonight,” he added.

However, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Information, Media and Public Affairs, Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe, had in an interview with our correspondent, on Saturday, maintained that the Senate would not be thrown into any chaotic situation over the Thursday’s invasion of the National Assembly complex by security operatives.

He had admitted that the IGP would appear before the Senate but assured the public that the matter would be handled with maturity.

He had said, “The Senate will discuss the invasion of the National Assembly by security operatives when it reconvenes on Tuesday. Already we have invited the Inspector – General of Police to find out who gave the order for the harassment of federal lawmakers last Thursday.

“So, I do not anticipate any form of stormy session during our sitting next Tuesday. I can assure you that the Senate is made up of gentlemen and women who are very senior citizens of the Nigerian society.

“Therefore, you cannot expect the Senate to act, except in a decorous manner.”

Abaribe also said that the Senate would still go ahead with deliberations on the emergency rule in the three north-eastern states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe contrary to insinuations that the matter had ended since the period of emergency had lapsed.

He said, “We had invited the service chiefs and we will find out from them, the update on the insurgency situation in the north-eastern states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe so that we can address the issue of the state of emergency requested by President Goodluck Jonathan.”

PoliticsI Will Never Give Up On My Presidential Bid, Says Atiku by viczing(op): 7:56pm On Nov 24, 2014
Dutse – Former Vice President and a presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar on Sunday , said that he would not give up on his bid to become the president of this country now or in the future.
Atiku made this declaration in Dutse, Jigawa shortly before holding a closed-door consultation with Gov. Sule Lamido in Dutse.
He said he was determined to continue to vie for the office of President if he lost the present bid until he eventually scaled through in the near future.
Atiku, however, said that his chances of winning his party’s primary on Dec. 10 were bright.
He also said he was ready to support whoever emerges at the primary election to ensure that person’s victory at the 2015 presidential election.
Atiku had earlier told newsmen that he was in Dutse to interact with his party delegates ahead of the Dec. 10 presidential primary of the party.
The former Vice President criticised the alleged swoop on APC data office in Lagos by security operatives.
Atiku met with Lamido for one hour 30 minutes in his personal residence.
Newsmen were barred from covering the meeting as it was said to be “private’’. (NAN)

RomanceShocking Confessions Of A Sex Slave! by viczing(op): 10:32am On Nov 24, 2014
The experience of Ifekoya Adejoke is as harrowing as it is heart-breaking. Lured by a false promise of ‘greener pastures’ abroad, the young Nigerian ended up a merciless victim of human trafficking, chained to a bed in a dingy, dirty Libyan room and forced to sexually satisfy up to 30 men in a single night...
Adejoke, a Lagos indigene, explained that an impoverished background led her tosurvive by hawking water as a young girl before she becoming an apprentice hairstylist.
“When I lost my dad, his family claimed my mum was responsible for his death,”the 21 year old tearfully said, sharing her experiences at a popular church in Lagos.“They left us with her and ever since then, she has been the one catering for us.
”Aged 19, a middle-aged lady walked into the shop where she was styling and approached her with an unusual proposal.“She came to me and said there was acountry she was staying in and if she took me to that country, I would make money and would be able to cater for my family.”
“My happiness knew no bounds,”she recalled, her judgement veiled by the blind promise of greener pastures. “I said, ‘Finally, an angel has come’. Unknown to me, she was a devil in human’s clothing.
”Just one week later, without even informing her mum or siblings, Ifekoya was in a vehicle with the mysterious lady en route to Libya.“She said when we got there,we would board a flight to Spain where I would start work as a stylist”.
The long journey by road through the infamous Sahara Desert was nothing short of hellish. “We were seeing dead bodies strewn on the ground,”she reminisced, shuddering at the grisly recollection.
“Even the vehicle that was following us directly passed on top of a buried bomb; the vehicle just exploded and everybody there died.”Ifekoya witnessed scenes fartoo horrific to repeat as masked men attacked a vehicle close to hers, beating theoccupants to a stupor and raping the women inside.
Finally making it to Libya’s capital city of Tripoli, Adejoke was taken by the woman to a duplex. The first glimpse of her new home was a shock to behold.“I met five Nigerian girls there who were half-naked,”she stated. Smiling wryly at her bewildered confusion, the woman said she would ‘explain everything tomorrow’.
“The following morning, when I woke up, she brought some underwear for me and said these were the clothes I must use to work,”the young Nigerian narrated to the sober crowd.
As realisation dawned to what she had unknowingly entangled herself in, Ifekoyabluntly refused.“That afternoon, people said they wanted to meet me because I was new but I protested,”she continued.
“So, the woman went outside and brought a cane. They really beat me up until I was very weak. She then took me to one of the rooms and tied me down there. She tied my hands to the back of my head and tied my legs separately so that they were open. That very day, 30 men used me in the room where I was chained.
”Shackled as a sex slave alone in the dark, dirty room save for the ravenous men who forced themselves on her, Ifekoya’s willpower slowly began wilting.
“After two weeks, the other girls came to me and said that if I didn’t accept to do this, she would tie me down for two years. When I knew the whole thing was like that, I just accepted.
”Informed that she would have to repay a total of $9,000 to the devilish lady to ‘cover the costs’ of her travel to Libya, the young Nigerian prostituted for almost one year before finally ‘earning’ enough to ‘buy’ her freedom.
However, as hope finally beckoned that she could leave such hellish lifestyle, fatestruck another venomous blow.“Immediately I planned to leave the place, I started falling sick – seriously sick.
”Nearly one year of sleeping with multiple men on a nightly basis had taken its tollon her young body.“To my greatest surprise, my womb fell. I had to be taken to the hospital where they operated on me to remove it.
”Feeble and practically penniless, Ifekoya now faced the ominous challenge of making enough money for the journey back to Nigeria. Her options were limited.“At the end of the day, I had no choice. I still had to resort to the same thing to come back to Nigeria,”she admitted.
Eventually ending up in another brothel, she began saving up for the return leg of her nightmare journey. After encountering a fellow Nigerian prostitute who had a similar story as a victim of deception and exploitation, the duo struck a strong friendship and resolved to make the journey together.
At this point, they made what turned out to be a life-changing discovery.“It was when we were in one of our friend’s houses that we were introduced to Emmanuel TV,”she explained.“We started watching and praying along with it.
”Almost 2 years after her intrepid trip across the Sahara Desert, Ifekoya and her friend embarked on the journey back to Nigeria. Inspired by the clips they had seen on Emmanuel TV, the television station of controversial Nigerian pastor T.B.Joshua, they decided to make The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) their first port of call.
