Trust me, there’s a million and one things that can go right when you have Don Jazzy doing background vocals or even a solo freestyle on your track. Agreed, he’s not vocally skilled like Banky W, Praiz or Oritse Femi even but there’s a special something about his baritone tenor heavily dotted with cultural influences over it. Don Jazzy has a way of shaking things up and spicing ‘em with his voice. It is special, for him at least. To some others (me), there’s this awkwardly mesmerizing effect that it comes with. The sound of his voice on a track is hitherto like the song’s reawakening. It is magical. And not forgetting that it is always accompanied by the midas touch of his only boastful technical know how – the music production.
I can recall Don Jazzy’s singing as far back as the a-days of the Mo’hits crew. Not only was he guy man D’Banj’sconfamproducer, he also doubled as background vocalist. On Tongolo,which officially announced D’Banj’s star sign, Don Jazzy got a series of backlashes from music sweethearts and comedians especially who relished opportunities to take him down over his cry baby vocals on the hook of that song. Personally, when I heard that voice I thought to myself“who is this phonie? Could he try out an art other than singing?”But no, Don baba J didn’t back down. Instead, he upped his game which necessarily didn’t include intense vocal coaching and exercising. May be he drank sparking water a lot more before lacing his‘voice of life’on records in the studio; perhaps he chewed bitter kola or avoided greasy meals, cold liquids, rough textured snacks like roasted corn, biscuits and snickers chocolate; might be that he cleared his throat 70 times 7 (lol!) we’ll never know for sure.
So here’s what I think. Don Jazzy took all that criticism and “hate” (like some of y’all are too quick to term it) and he fired back with better boldness, confidence and a zeal to do better in his own way little way and he’s become darn good at it. Look at Mrs Billz who clearly enjoys an enviable vocal chemistry with thedoroboss;in my review of her debut album I had to cry out that there was already too much Don Jazzy on the work. Yet, those songs have remained a favourite selection off Once Upon a Time. Or is it Dr Sid’s Siductionwhose voice I suddenly couldn’t tell apart Don Jazzy’s at some point? More people dismiss the effort but never overlook the Don Jazzy collabos. Now, there’s the infamous Dorobucciand Adaobi. They’re both songs that caught us off guard with the former still pulling in a breaking record of mp3 downloads and Youtube views. So you see? Not like his “sing sing” (like a friend of mine actually termed it) deserves all the credit but you gotta agree that it is paying off and wonderfully well even.
Undoubtedly, most of the songs with IDJA’s voice on it are a music collector’s item. Ikechukwu’s Now Is The Time, Wande Coal’s The Kick, Dr Sid’s smash hit single Surulere, Tiwa Savage’s Without My Heartand Eminado,including the unofficial features on Mrs Billz most recent single My Darlin, Di’Ja’s Yaro, Reekado Banks’ Chop Amand Korede Bello’s Cold Outsidewhere he spices things with mild vocal embellishments in the form of adlibs. The best part would be that he’s not even all about the Mavin folk alone. Need I remind you about Kcee’s Pull Over Remix, DJ Xclusive’s Gal Bad, Ayo Vincent’s Serve The Lord(which I looooove by the way) and P-Square’s Collabo? Oh, there’s an Olamide offering too in the nearest future. Regardless, the smart man knows well not to launch an official music career ‘cos that just might be the beginning of the end. I think his outstanding nature lies in the fact that he has the wherewithal to being whoever he wants to but he’s chosen to be who he’s supposed to… and that right there people, defines the mind of a Mavin!

Bad blood in Politics.

Few months ago, when the results of the gubernatorial election in Ekiti was announced, the outgoing governor(Kayode Fayemi) did accept defeat, congratulate the winner; Ayodele Fayose and promised to support him in any way he could. One would have expected that he reciprocate that same hand of friendship by downplaying his victory especially at his swearing in ceremony currently going on.

Instead Ayodele Fayose in his inaugural speech has decided not to focus on his plans for Ekiti state but to belittle the personality of the outgoing governor. For a governor who spent four years in office, Ayodele could not find one thing the he did to praise him for but derived joy in listing what he did not do and what he did wrongly. He wasn't just diplomatic in condemning Kayodi but came out all blunt to tarnish his image.

Kayode Fayemi remains a Political role model.His disposition and sincerity to accept the result of that election shows he is a true democrat and I will continue to respect him for that.

Another epistle of paul, did he accept the result? If so why challenge it in court? Why did he retract his comment when apc leaders came? Dude get ur facts right before you spill ginnerish. Apc e goat. Nothing good can come out of this apc e goats

Keep your research organized with these tricks.
1. Search within a site: Type "example search term site: example website" to search a keyword or search term within that site only, if you need to use a particular source.
2. SearchWiki: Use SearchWiki to star and edit your favorite results, even hidden ones.
3. info:: Find information about a website if you need to verify it or collect data for a citation.
4. Custom Search Engine: Create your own custom search engine with Google. You can name it, pick the language, and select only certain sites to be searched.

Scholar Search
Google Scholaris an excellent resource for undergraduate and graduate students who want a quick way to connect to authoritative information from journals and scholarly publications. Use these tips to search Scholar.
1. Search by author: Scholar recommends using the author's initials, or at least first initial and last name, to increase your results.
2. Search by journal: Used Scholar's Advanced Search to find articles published in a specific journal or publication.
3. Find articles and pieces that reference that article: By typing in the name of an article in quotation marks, you'll find that paper plus other papers that reference it.
4. Limit by date: Make sure you're citing the most updated research by limiting your returns by date.
5. Find court opinions: If you're searching for court opinions, you can search by state, choose only U.S. federal court opinions, or expand your search to all journals and opinions.
6. Select collections: Also in Advanced Search is the option to select collections like Chemistry and Materials Science or Social Sciences, Arts, and Humanities.
7. Search Library Links: Under Google Scholar Preferences, you'll find the option to find library access links.
8. Start with citations, then move offline: Sometimes Google will pull up a citation but not the whole piece because it hasn't found it online. If it looks like a good match for your research, copy it down and bring it to your librarian for help locating it.

When you're searching for specific material, use Advanced Searchto plug in qualifiers that will narrow down your search. Here are more Advanced Search tricks to learn.
1. Search within a domain: Only let Google bring up .edu or .gov sites, for example, if you want primary sources or authoritative information.
2.Select file type: This very handy qualifier is useful when you need to quickly find certain types of data or information for a presentation. You can choose to limit results to .pdf, .xls, Google Earth, .doc, .rtf, and more.
3.: If you're looking to use open source material or unlicensed material, this is a good trick to make sure you're on track.
4. Exclude terms: Use a minus sign right before a word (-example) to eliminate it from your search results.
5.Wildcard search: The * key acts as a wildcard in Google search that can be helpful with early stages of research. Google gives the example [Obama voted * on the * bill] to learn about Obama's votes on several different bills.
6. Blogs: After conducting a search, click on the "Blogs" button under "Show Options" to view only blog posts on the subject.

9. Where your keywords show up: When you're looking for very specific information or for a specific kind of source, you can use this feature to limit where the keywords show up in your search: the URL, title of the article, in links to the page, or just anywhere in the page.
10. Find pages that link to the page: Use this feature when you want to do a little more digging. You'll stumble across blog posts, journal articles and news stories that offer more in-depth commentary.
11. Quotation marks: Put quotation marks around a phrase to let Google know you want that exact phrase in that order.
