The Lagos State Government said it has set aside Wednesday,
October 15, 2014 to be observed as a Horn Free Day.
The Commissioner for Transportation, Kayode Opeifa, made this
known in his Alausa office on Friday.
The Commissioner said that the observance of the Horn Free Day is
expected to reduce noise pollution from the use of the horn, improve
road courtesy, improve lane discipline and draw motorists’ attention
to the importance of road discipline and mutual respect for other road
users.
He said that Governor Fashola has challenged road users in Lagos
State to observe a Horn Free Day, which is designed to complement
the on-going efforts by the Lagos State Government in the provision
and upgrading of traffic infrastructure across the State.
The activities lined up towards the Horn Free Day, would involve
active engagement of radio and television stations in generating
discussions challenging road users to observe a Horn Free Day.
It would also include endorsement by relevant stakeholders, as well
as ember months campaign by the Vehicle Inspection Service to
advocate, educate and enlighten road users on road safety.
The Law Enforcement Training Institute (LETI) would also be
embarking on a community outreach programme which involves
market and motor park engagements that will provide an avenue for
discussion of the Horn Free Day and the engagement of Traffic Safety
Ambassadors to partner with the Ministry of Transportation to
support the successful observation of the Horn Free Day.
Opeifa urged all motorists, Lagosians and the general public to
support the State Government by observing and adhering to the Horn
Free Day exercise.

Fire outbreak at molete bustop axis ibadan. So terrible.

No fewer than sixty people were burnt beyond recognition this evening
in Ibadan when a fuel tanker fell at the popular Molete Under-bridge,
splashing its highly inflammable content on all objects in sight with an
accompanying inferno. The accident that occurred around 9 pm left
scores dead and many people injured with varied degrees of injury.
When the Street Journal visited the scene of the accident, there was
commotion as many people were still trying to find their wards and
relatives that just passed though the area. Eye witness accounts have it
that the fuel tanker that was coming from Challenge end of Molete had
a break failure and the driver subsequently lost its control before it
rammed into a pole under the bridge, resulting in the fire disaster.
It was gathered at the scene of the accident that about dozens of Okada
riders and some commuters were caught up in the ensued fire disaster.
Traders by the roadsides particularly, the bread sellers were roasted like
bush meat. All the adjoining streets had a fair share of the disaster as
casualties figures are expected to rise as many people were caught
unawares in their shops. A combined team of security operatives and
the state emergency agencys were on ground to ensure that the number
of casualties was drastically brought under control. its well o

Often referred to as Leading Nigerian-American DJ Soupamodel and one of Africa’s premier female DJs. She’s a Grammy (National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences of the United States) member and a music producer. Dj Toxiq is a Producer, Artiste, who’s currently the official Dj and producer to the artiste Lace and Frankie free of Dosage and Magic city record labels respectively who recently dropped a song collaboration Keep rolling produced by her. Dj Toxiq, a graduate of the university of Port harcourt used to play at small gigs, party or “get together” in school (uniport) where she was discovered and offered a job as a Dj in one of the leading lounges in port harcourt back in 2011, she also plays at high class events, marriages, get togethers, hosting etc.


6. DJ LAMBO
The one-time OAP, DJ Lamboghini is the official DJ for Chocolate city artist M.I. She started her career as an OAP in Ray Power 100.5FM, then moved on to Rhthym 94.7 FM and Love 104.5 FM in Abuja before taking a different turn her as a DJ. Recently nominated for the African female Dj award at the African Global DJ Awards in South Africa (AGDA)

Highly regarded as Nigeria’s sexiest DJ, DJ Rosie is one of the hottest rising deejay in Nigeria, this entertainer creates unique music out of a blend of Afropop, Hip Hop, Electro and even soul music. In a male dominated industry thats ever so evolving in Nigeria, choosing a career as a professional DJ wasn’t taken seriously until recent years. The Likes of DJ jimmy Jatt and the late DJ shyshy shyllon proved that it’s a worthy venture, a path that can be handled with professionalism. This 9 female DJ’s have gone against all odds to prove Deejaying isnt just a male dominated affair while staying relevant.

Nigeria’s No1 Female DJ, artiste, producer, DJ Frizzie started dj-ing at the age of 16. She started officially as a deejay at Uniport Radio 88.5fm .DJ Frizzie possesses good Djing techniques, mixing, scratching and blending of all genre of music. 2. DJ SWITCH
29-year-old rapper, Maiden edition of the music talent show Glo x-factor winner and StarQuest Talent hunt show winner along with Da Pulse, DJ Switch is now a DJ. Theres alot more to Dj switch that meets the eyes, her determination that got her the cash prize of N 24 Million and a recording contract with Sony Music. Shes a force to reckon with.



3. DJ NANA
The exceptional female DJ better known as DJ Nana came out tops to win the first ever “Airtel/Barcaddi Cool FM DJ Competition”. After winning, she went on to master the art of disc jockey under the mentorship of the Legendary DJ Jimmy Jatt at Jimmy Jatt Inc. The Young, vibrant and pretty DJ has played at A-List Events like; First Nigerian Idol, AY Live Concert, Kings of Comedy Concert, MTN 10th Anniversary Party and so on.


4. DJ MYSTELLE
Popularly referred to as “Deejay Humility’s trained Lady, Dj Mystelle is arguably the most sorted after and most competitive female disc jockey in Nigeria”. DJ Mystelle is a professional female dj, who’s passion and involvement forbeats and rhythms on the wheels of steel is so intense. Although looking light skinned like an halfcast, She’s African and from Nigeria. She is a changing face of female entertainment in the music industry. The prolific Dj was crowned with an honour solely the only female in the top 20 selected and honoured deejays last year 2012 at an event organised by Deejan (Deejay Association of Nigeria) in Lagos.
