pweeshy: Thank you for your response. If I get a new passport, will I send it to IRCC to restamp? Will they do that? No I don’t think that’s possible. Getting a new one is just to ease the stress of having to apply for a new passport in canada. |

pweeshy: Hi everyone,
Please I have two questions
1. My passport has been stamped by IRCC, and I plan on traveling to Canada in the middle of December. My course is a two-year course, my passport expires in November 2023 and IRCC gave me approval till October 2023. Can I still try to get a new passport before traveling? Or should I just wait till I get there? I have a plug that can help me get a new passport in like a week, will I need to send that new one to IRCC again for stamping? Please advice.
2. I was supposed to resume in September 2022 but because ppr came late, my school offered to defer my start date to Jan 2023. Do I need to send the new letter of acceptance to IRCC? Please advise I will try to answer to the best of my knowledge 1- yes try get a new passport here before travelling if you’re sure it will come out before your travel date because if you don’t stay in province that issue passport in canada, it might be stressful. 2- yes send your new LOA to IRCC. My admission was deferred to May from January and I had to send a copy to IRCC. |

Debzbetapikin: Good evening House, my husband just got accepted into a canadian college today and he wants to apply for his study permit now. Please i have the following questions:
1)Please what will the wife of an intending student apply for? Is it open work permit, visit visa (other types) or tourist visa
2)How do we apply for Nigerian Student express Visa ? 3)General Advice on this study permit, please share all dos and don't s Hello With little that I've gathered so far, 1- Open work permit 2- you can still do this- requirements are - ielts 6 in each LWRS or more, 30$ CAD in your account, MBS (my bank statement ticket) for 12months (you can always research more online). Some are getting their PPR through this in 6weeks or more. You can be lucky. (If I knew I would've written ielts). You can either use old or new portal, but in your case it will old portal because you're applying for spouse open work permit which isn't on new portal. Also, for NSE, you just include all these documents and you're good to go. 3- Take your time to gather documents, read everything and anything on study permit, watch YouTube and God will do the rest. Lastly, try apply yourself. |

She literally owned my application like it was her own, took everything upon herself, we don’t even know each other, we connected via Nairaland after I was refused US F-1 visa in 2021. I wanted to use an agent to process this study permit application but she discouraged me and said I could do it myself, little did I know she wa saying she could do it for me. Dear @Olawunmi God bless you and keep shinning His light upon your path.

Yahwehsdota: I'm back with more details following our PPR.
I actually wrote this testimony on the day we submitted our application trusting God in advance that He will grant my family of 5 visa's and He did. I'm testifying on behalf of my husband since I'm the one that basically got all the information here on his behalf. Ours was an imperfect application with sponsor, gift deed and other inadequacies but God came through for us. God was with us from the very beginning and even the choice of school for my husband came from Him. I heard clearly in my spirit "don't be afraid, I'll help you (Isaiah 41:10)this visa is a done deal" and I held unto God's word in the midst of challenges. We submitted our application in July for resumption in September and I told God to please make it happen fast cos He promised early help in His word (Ps 46) and He came through for us.
I want to specially thank my Father in heaven, my Savior, Redeemer, King, Deliverer, Helper for bringing this to come to pass indeed we are the one's that God showed mercy and we have returned with our headstones of grace and dances of celebration!! I also want to thank all nairalanders for their contributions and tips, not forgetting the gurus and all those who were always ready to answer questions regardless of how silly they were. You guys are the real MVPS. All tips for this application were gotten from nairaland. I prayed a lot, joined nsppd prayers, fasted 3ce a week and declared the word of God personalizing it over our application using the following scriptures: Gen 39:21, 2cor 1:20, prov 21:1, Ps 102:13, John 14:14, Ps 34:4-5 but it wasn't about my prayer, God showed me mercy and His grace qualified us.
We are first time applicants and these are the documents we submitted for my husband's application (student PhD) , SOWP for me and Study Permit/visit visa for 3 kids

He broke down POF in a tabular form for clarity purpose. Also, he gave them strong reasons why he needs to go with his kids and wife. He also dealt extensively on Home Ties which are parents, siblings, commitment in church, charitable organizations, professional associations, landed properties, personal business and included available pictures to prove.

JustMellow: Hello Vikky05,
Your sponsor only needs to demonstrate the funds for the subsequent year and not necessarily in liquid funds. What is important is showing sufficient liquid funds for the first year of study which should be about NGN 10m above excluding tuition and LE. Though the amount to show depends on the total cost of your study for the first year.
Not that it isn't good to have more than one third-party individual supporting you financially, the implication is that it could weaken your economic establishment, especially when the VO can not trace continuous inflows of your earnings or funds in your personal bank account.
The current refusal trend is now based mostly on "Personal Assets & Financial Status" whether or not the individual had a good sitting balance despite paying full tuition. The cause could be a result of a term deposit or scanty inflows.
If your mom is sponsoring, she needs to present a financial record that has a continuous inflow amounting to a sufficient sitting bank balance. From the proceedings of the sale of land, pay your second-year tuition and fix the rest in a fixed deposit along with an explanation of why. If this can be done, you can become a self-sponsored applicant.
Ensure that you include your personal bank account having a sitting balance of about NGN 5 – 7m or above if you decide to pay for the two years of tuition. The funds will serve as a demonstration for your two years of LE. The funds to be received from your siblings can be used to run your account within a 4 – 6 months duration. This way, you can leave them out of the application. If your spouse's bank account is sufficient, include it, otherwise, only provide his employment information.
Best of Luck Thank you so much just mellow. I will have to restrategize my application. My 2years tuition is $35,740 (including books, insurance etc) my mum is paying $17,870 which is the 1st year required by school. 2nd year is $17,870. The issue is My sponsor (my mum) can't put so much money in her account because once it's plenty, she pays her seller (Nestle food) with it. Hence, she wants to use FD for 2nd year tuition. Hope this works. For my husband and i's living expenses, I will put all the gift deed (9-10m) in my account and run it like you said for 4months before printing SOA, I'm a business woman with 2 businesses, one has a bank account and the other (event planning) doesn't, hope I can use it as source of funds for the amount in my account ?? I've contracts and my social media page to show source. I won't put my husbands statement because its not sufficient. I will use the land we want to sell for home ties then. |

Please how do I go about this? - "A record of meeting with my mum, siblings and husband, also consent" and how do I put it on my SOP - that my mums FD will be used for 2nd year tuition and living expenses ?? |

Good evening everyone, I'm new here and 1st time posting. You all are doing a great job. I got an admission with crandall University MOM 2years program, January intake.
I’m the one studying. My husband and I will be applying together. Our daughter is a US citizen so we won't be applying with her.
I'm confused with my POF and please I would like your opinions. @makano @frankrobben1 My mum is my sponsor (she's business woman). She’s paying for my 1year tuition fee (it’s a 2year program). my husband and I are paying for our living expenses for 1year by selling my husbands land, our siblings are giving us some money also (doing a gift deed). We have the cash for 1st year.
My questions are: - For the 2nd year tuition, can my mum use her fixed deposit to show as pof for 2nd year tuition? Because she doesn't have any account that has funds for a long time. And her Statement of account as show of income? but sometimes there won’t be any money in the account because of her business. As she pays for her goods, Good inflow and outflow though.
- For living expenses, the gift deed from both siblings and the funds from sale of land, are we to leave this money in our accounts for 4-6months?
- can we (my husband and i) use an investment and land to show that we will use it to pay for our 2nd year living expenses ? We also have a house
- our family ties are my mum, siblings, my business, I will taking over my family business, our house and land. Please does these work ?
Thank you
Thank you so much @learner247. Please @makano @frankrobben1 and other gurus please help. |
