Thanks a lot.My score is 66.75 and the cut off for nursing last year was 67,I don't want to risk it.But some people said the cut off might not increase.

Here is the thing.... If you're going to apply for another department then switch to nursing after first year, you need to make sure the department you're switching to now offers the same courses as nursing in first year. Because if you Dont do the same courses with them in first year, you won't be able to cross over.



Here is a hint: Dont choose microbiology or any of the biological sciences. Chemistry is cool, they allow their students to cross.. I think you can also go with departments in public health and college of medicine e.g physiology, biochemistry, human nutrition

There's someone here who asked if she could cross to nursing... Yes you can


I had a friend that crossed from chemistry to nursing in UI... And her first year GP was not even spectacular.. But it was a 2.1

U.I uses point grade. deductions from last year.
A1=[6points].
B2=[5points].
B3=[4points].
C4=[3points].
C5=[2points].
C6=[1point]..
Five distinctions means 30points! which is equal to 50%i.e[30/30 X 50%]!.

JAMB SCORE OF 265!.
[265/8]=33.125%.

AGGREGATE=50+33=83%.

CUT OFF MARK FOR MEDICINE LAST YEAR=79.75.

ADMISSION PROBABILITY:100%.


ADMISSION STATUS:ADMITTED.

After YEARS of chasing MBBS...

Started 2007 when I did the Basic program at Uniport...I was about seven points short of the cut off...

I proceeded to study Human Physiology...

I wanted to switch at Year 1...but I didn't make up to 4 points....

I moved to Plan C: Get a 2-1 and do DE...

I got a 2-1.....but DE didn't come my way..

I got admission at Georgia after NYSC..I was denied entry..

I got admission at TAU, Guyana...Ebola came on board...West Africans were denied visa.

I got married to my darling babe..

We enrolled for M. Sc programs...(me, Human Physiology, she, Public Health)...

I gave DE another try.....

and...

I'm in!

University of Abuja!

Sincerely, the last time I was this excited was when our son was born...

for the fact that you finished from UI you have a greater chance. Hope it's a strong 2.1 tho. The mcb I know that were admitted although not from UI had 1st class

Thanks dear. I haven't seen my final cgpa tho.. They didn't include that in final year book of life (you're in UI you know) and they haven't given us our transcript. So I also heard we need NYSC certificate to apply. I haven't gone for NYSC yet oo, but would be going by April. How would I go about that?

I just finished from UI department of microbiology, with a 2:1, my o level result is distinction for the 5 subject combination, and I want to re-apply to UI for medicine and surgery.
