pyhz: Bro, I only gave him my own opinion. If only u knw aw many applications r bn treated in July n August (peak time) u will knw he has to gt his biometric done asap again.

Without any glitch, biometric done shud reflect in the applicant cic acct within 24hrs.
It bn 5days already n its still nt showing biometric done. IF AM THE GUY, AM GOING BCK TO HAVE IT DONE. Shikena!!!
Well, have forgetten how many dayz it took mine to reflect in my cic acct..though I'm aware it doesn't take time to reflect to one's acct.. nevertheless, if you re speaking from experience I'd still suggest he holds on 4 a week b4 going back to vfs..a week isn't long to chill

Please house, can i go for my biometrics if i don't get the biometrics request letter? I'm thinking of going to the VAC with my confirmation of submission, confirmation of online application and visa application receipt of payment. Will i be attended to? I applied online. Somebody please help abeg. Many people here applied through the online route and i presume would be able to shed some light on my situation. Please guys!
To my knowlegde ur bio letter follows after your submission, a mail will be sent to you asking you to check your acct...I don't think it will work..they will demand for your biometic letter from cic bfore they can attend to u...that being said...if your within lagos u can just give it a trial..there won't be a harm for doing so rather it will justify ur skeptical but bfore then check your spam.who knows it can be hidden there

@ all the gurus in da huz....for those of you who had paid their tuition fee and accomodation fee from naija to their respective canadian school pls your opinion is needed.how did you carry out the transaction, was it via current acct or via domicillary acct. Was in the first bank this morning for bank(naija) to bank(canny) transfer via my current acct but was told this method isn't realistic accept via dom acct.though was told by school I can pay in local currency while the deduction will be made in canadian dollar.
Your contribution is highly needed

fejeerow: please.someone answer me. I finished nysc last yr, use to work full time wuthout employment letter. I dnt havw any doc from where i worked to present at the embassy
I would recommend you go for online route but be sure to have a scanner cuz every single doc must be scanned and uploaded.online application is efficient, reliable and faster though expensive cuz of the reason stated above.

That being said, employment letter shouldn't give you a concern. I believe the company where u work is a registered company or biz.Tell ur boss to prepare a letter headed paper of the company with logo and rc number. He should address it to cdhc stating the occupation, perform duty, position, salary(naira) and dates of employment.finally it must be duly signed and stamped.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 5 by vinnygod: 10:33pm On Jul 01, 2014
yes u must renew it since you're goin for a long program .your passport have to be valid for the duration of ur study period as a study permit cannot be issued beyond the validity of ur passport

tebbyosi: hey guys, im new here and ive been reading posts about the visa application thing, its been really helpful.
i hav a lil question though, I intend to apply in august for the winter session, 2015 in canaada but then my passport expires May 2015.
i dont know if i should apply with this passport or renew it before applying for the visa... what do you guys think?

I can't. Its not letting me put in anything. No alphabets. That's where i'm stuck cos i don't want to leave it blank. Not even N/A is working.
If the pros persist I'd suggest u download a fresh app form and then refill it

Since you've no employment history....simply put "schooling" there
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 5 by vinnygod: 11:53pm On Jun 30, 2014
What program are you applying 4...grad or underg..?

ms.anon:
@ house, for those that applied online, can anybody please let me know if you encountered any sort of difficulty validating your application? For instance, i haven't got anything to fill in for the Employment history and when i tried filling in NOT APPLICABLE/ NA it still kept showing me the red line; meaning it wasn't accepted. Do i just leave the boxes blank? I've read that I'm supposed to fill in all the boxes and put in NOT APPLICABLE OR N/A in cases that doesn't apply to me. It appears that for certain questions it doesn't accept alphabets; just numbers. Anybody knows what to do in this instance? Would appreciate your input at the moment. Thanks

mrnilobrawn: Hi ALL,

Kudos to every positive poster on NL.
I just got a mail from a school in canada saying the department has approved my file for admission to the graduate school.

Does this mean i stand a beter chance of being admitted?
Thanks all
U stand more than a better chance.to approve means they have found your apprication worthy.your next correspondence from them would be your admission letter issue by the faculty of post graduate study.so start to pool your documents together for trv

oghos2k: Anyone got a sample SOP?
You can make some search on google....
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 5 by vinnygod: 11:51am On Jun 30, 2014
oghos2k: Do I need a statement of purpose to apply for study permit? And which section do I upload that if at all?
You need a powerful SOP to convince visa officer that your plan to embark on a world class education in canada is not by accident

dannydolly: The issue is not going for another biometrics but my passport is already at the British high commission and I'm going to need it for the biometrics if I need to do it again. 7th July is the deadline on my biometrics letter which makes it one month after submission.
Just rank your brain to see if you can come up with a powerful convincing reason(s).with a good reasons the BDHC may possibly release
your passport.but incase it won't work for you just keep your fingers cross. God ain't sleeping...Nothing is impossible for Him...be steadfast in prayer..trv is sure for you..panic not...
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 5 by vinnygod: 12:49pm On Jun 29, 2014
dannydolly: Two different applications bro, I applied online for Canada and went to vfs for the biometrics. After the biometrics, i submitted another application to the UK. Now, my passport is at the British High Commission and my CIC account has not been updated. What I still get is 'we need the applicant's biometrics'. What can I do? I have till 7th July.
You've till seventh july to do what? Anyway, with regards to your biometric you should just exercise patience and give them a benefit of doubt that they had tight schedule last week then till next week let's say a week to the day u did your bio but if you keep on receiving the same update then you won't have option than to go back to vfs to redo your bio. Don't allow them to know that you have done it bfore. Successs for the both applications.

ChriGo: ....Answers...

1) If you weren't issued the letter, don't bother yourself about it....i know alota peeps who got in without the letter....

2) They really don't ask about this....never seen or heard of anyone been asked...if dem ask you, then tell them about how money will be sent to you once you settle(That's if you used a sponsor)...show them your Master Card or Visa card and let them know you can always make withdrawals from any ATM terminal.

3) They don't ask about this except if your case is exceptional(e.g re-entry to Canada after been sent out previously)

4) The easiest way is by using your MasterCard from naija....Just like i said earlier, you can withdraw from anywhere, anytime, anyday...money can be paid into ur naija bank account and withdrawals can be made through any ATM terminal here in Canada

Bros your questions too much Ojare grin......
Chrigo please don't be weird at my questions.there's a saying that if you ain't informed you'll definitely be deformed.thanks bro. God ain't sleeping for your humanitarian service to this forum..you have affected so many lives here without demanding a penny...releasing powerful infos which ordinarily couldn't be gotten with $1000...God will surely reward you and other contributors of this forum
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 5 by vinnygod: 2:26pm On Jun 28, 2014
@chrigo,miss bon and other guru in da huz please this write up below is coined out from the CIC website .
The canada border service agency (CBSA) officer will ask to see your travel documents when you arrive in Canada. Make sure they are not packed in your luggage, and that you have them with you. This will help speed up your entry to Canada.

You should be ready to show the following documents:

#1.a valid passport or travel document

#2.the letter of introduction from the visa office that you received when your study permit was approved (this letter contains your permit reference number and the CBSA officer needs this letter to issue your study permit)

#3.a valid temporary resident visa (if required)

#4. A copy of the letter of acceptance from the designated learning institution at which you are accepted to study
#5. Proof that you have enough money to support yourself during your stay in Canada and
#6. Letters of reference or any other documents recommended by the visa office where you applied.

My questions lie on #2,#5 and#6.
1) Were you issued letter of introduction when you obtained your TRV.if "No"what was the Officer's reaction at a point of entry and if "yes" what do you suggest I should do in my case.(I wasn't issued a LOI)

2) How do I proof that I have sufficient funds for my stay in canada at POE. Is it by presenting the same SOA I submitted during application process but this time the current status of the SOA or by showing them the traveller's cheque ,debit master card or cash at hand.

3)Finally but not limited to this, base on the documents at the #6 above, how important is this reference letter at the POE.if yes how do one obtain it

4)What is the easiest and cheaper way to carry money to canny.that is the money I will be using for my living expenses.
Thanks in anticipation for your quick response.
