PapiSmith: This is completely, 100% wrong. You do NOT need color printouts of the DS-160 or any other materials. We have, in the past, seen touts use this forum to promote their services. Do NOT believe any of this nonsense. Other things you do NOT need: * Staples or fasteners of any kind (including paper clips, tacks, tape, etc) * A particular order -- nothing needs to be "sorted" * Multiple copies -- we only need one copy I am certain I can think of other things, but this will do for now. If any of our staff turns you around because you have a colored DS-160, report it to another officer immediately and we will take care of it. Regards, VO 30 Likes 2 Shares |

travelfar: I'm not sure how a "mistake" of Australia happens. There are only a certain number of DV's allowed per country and your "Australian" birth gave you the right to apply for a DV from Australia. KCC is right when they say that the CO will decide as KCC cannot adjudicate a visa. However, a CO does not have the power to overlook this. Come to the interview and see what happens. That is all I can say. Regards, VO |

Timetravel88: I suspect you would like if I came here and suggested everything is going to be alright. Unfortunately, I cannot do that. Since you lied on a previous visa application, your K1 visa is in jeopardy. In fact, your ability to ever go to the United States has been compromised. This is far beyond "naivety" and is all too common. Only time will tell. Regards, VO 2 Likes |

AREOLA: Officially, a case in administrative processing is refused under section 221(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act. This is normal. You should write us at LagosIV@state.gov if you have not heard anything after 60 days. Regards, VO |

KaptainAfrika: It's impossible to overstate the value of the truth. Just today, someone was refused for a lie they told 40 years ago -- yes, we have records that go back that far, and farther. That said, why is there a difference between telling the truth in an interview or on the form? Should there be a lie on the form but not during the interview or vice versa? Why not immediately start telling the truth in both? The sooner you start telling the truth the sooner you can start earning back our trust. You are still likely to be refused, but at least coming clean has a chance to reset the clock so that eventually you can earn a visa. It might take years and significant ties, but it's possible. But if you hold onto that lie -- and most likely, we know it but won't tell you we know it -- you have almost no chance of getting a visa. Regards, VO 6 Likes 1 Share |

chiinnwee: This doesn't make sense to me. You know that you are posting a non-immigrant visa question on an immigrant visa forum and yet you still posted the question? Further, you are debating whether or not to list your children on your official application for a U.S. visa? And then you ask for your chances of getting such a visa when there are literally hundreds of posts on the non-immigrant forum that expressly state that we do not give out chances? In two years, I don't think I've ever seen such a brazen disregard for forum rules and etiquette. Regards, VO 4 Likes |

KaptainAfrika: Yes, our Nigerian staff must apply for a visa just like anyone else. If we know them, then they must interview with someone who does not know them. If they know everyone (which is rare), then a Consular manager will interview. Regards, VO 4 Likes |

Naina1122: Consular officers have the right and the authority to request any documents from you which they feel are relevant to adjudicating your case. This might seem frustrating to you, but know that it is done for your benefit. It is actually good that they are keeping on top of your case by requesting documents on a regular basis. Regards, VO |

towbaynah: Better to be refused on the truth than issued on a lie. Lies will catch up with you sooner or later. A single lie could jeopardize any chance of you or your family going to the U.S. in the future. Honesty and sincerity go a long, long way during the interviews. Regards, VO 6 Likes |

farastrongman: The interview is for you to establish your relationship. The more relevant documents you can bring to support this, the better. If you are limited in your evidence, you may have a more difficult time getting your visa approved. But that is up to the interviewing officer to decide. Regards, VO |

KodakWale1: I don't understand this question. You're asked not to open the file but you want to know what's in it? Further, you're not sure if it's "really important," even though it needs to be given to the immigration officer who has the authority to let you enter the United States? I'm fairly certain you know the answer to these questions. Regardss VO |

2zhurevisa: Once recommended for revocation, the Consulate no longer has jurisdiction over your case. If this just happened, you should wait several weeks for USCIS to receive the recommendation. USCIS will review the file and contact the petitioner with their decision. This could range anywhere from sending this back to the Consulate for review to a Notice of Intent to Revoke. In short, write USCIS in two months. Regards, VO |
