PoliticsCNPP Threatens Parties Opposed To Card Reader For Elections. by vision2022(op): 9:07am On Mar 09, 2015
Onyebuchi Ezigbo in Abuja

The Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP) has said it may be forced to withdraw the membership of political parties that engage in unethical and undemocratic agitation

The group, which serves as an umbrella association of all political parties in the country, said it is unequivocally in support of the use of Magnetic Card Reader for accreditation of voters in the 2015 general elections.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the National Publicity Secretary of CNPP, Mr Osita Okechukwu, the body said it takes exception to political parties that are wittingly or unwittingly threatening the survival of our fledgling democracy by opposing the deployment of Magnetic Card Reader.

"In sum, the CNPP will eject membership of political parties that engage in unethical and undemocratic agitation and embark on Mass Action, if either Jega is removed, Card Reader deleted or even the Temporary Voters Card (is) added for accreditation," it said.

While assessing the performance the Card Reader machine deployed on test- run at the weekend, CNPP said with exception few lapses recorded, the exercise has gone smoothly.

"The mock test of the Magnetic Card Reader, by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), even if the picture is the only identification matrix; has further emboldened and reinforced our resolve to adopt the device as the best device to avoid mangling and manipulating the electoral process.

"INEC should take note of the few lapses noted and improve on the device, so as to engender free, fair and transparent election. This will put paid to those who want would want to repeat in 'Medical School' after failing.

"We are making this declaration because in the absence of genuine reason, we adopt a device which has been used to conduct free, fair and transparent elections in many countries like the US, UK, Brazil, Ghana, and the 2014 Indian general elections, an election where 600 million Indian voters voted seamlessly.

"It is regrettable that those who few years back, declared that telephone is not for the Nigerian poor are behind the call for the rejection of Magnetic Card Reader technology for accreditation of Nigerian Voters.

"We had thought that the lesson today that both the groundnut seller and the rich are using telephone, is enough lesson on adaptation of new technology to advance our electoral process which in the past was marred by irregularities.

"CNPP concur with the valid evidence that the use of Magnetic Card Reader for accreditation of voters will minimize if not eradicate ballot- box snatching, dumb printing of ballot papers and snatching of result sheets.

"We are therefore at a loss why the largest party in Africa - Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) - a party that has ruled our dear country for the last sixteen years is jittery, and enveloped with hysteria over the use of the Magnetic Card Reader to advance our electoral process.

"To worsen matters, the PDP is desperately recruiting other political parties in this ignoble, undemocratic and unpatriotic onslaught on the nerve of our fledgling democracy.”

PoliticsRe: Buhari ‘running Away’ From Debate With Jonathan – Presidency by vision2022: 5:40pm On Mar 08, 2015
If I were President Jonathan, I would have close this chapter of debating with GMB because it will do him more harm than good by exposing more of his failures to Nigerians and int'l community, ok, did he think that he will disgrace GMB if they were to debate both in coherent, experience and exposure, afterall in 2011 he refused to debate with GMB. Mr President should not allow himself to be disgrace more in public. thats my candid advice.

They said that if they did not perform with in 4 yrs, if you give them 100 yrs they will not perform, now they have failed for the 4 yrs given to them and they are still asking for another 4 yrs to consolidate their failure and cause more harm than good after all these broken promises of fixing public power supply, figting corruption, instead the national wealth has been shared among the few corrupt individuals at the expense of the masses. can we afford another 4 yrs of economic brutality? no.

PoliticsEnd Of The Road Of Election Riggers. by vision2022(op): 10:29am On Mar 08, 2015
The mock election by INEC yesterday went succesfully to test run the efficacy of the card reader in my area but without a drama. One Man came yesterday with a cloned INEC PVC to the polling unit but the card reader rejected the card, when ask how he got the card he said that one of the politcians from the ruling party gave him the card and told him not to bother wasting his time for another card, rather use the one he gave to him for election day. in conclusion, he was sent to come and try the machine whether the cloned PVC will be allowed by the machine, he also revealed that thousands of the cloned INEC PVC cards have being distributed by the said politician for the up coming general elections. you can now see why they are opposing the use of CARD READER. Thank God for INEC. support the use of CARD READER MACHINE.
PoliticsRe: INEC Mock Poll Exposes Card Readers’ Flaws. by vision2022: 7:49am On Mar 08, 2015

What has this renounced Prof. of Political Science Prof. Attahiru Jega committed that warranted his planned removal?
1. Jega refused to be compromised by conducting free and fair elections, if you win I announce you, if you did not win, I announce the winner.
2. Introducing the CARD READER that will minimize the rigging method or even eradicate rigging completely
3. refusing to collect bribe so as to suppress his conscience. just to mention but a few.

What a country and their Shameless leaders.
