trolling: u shouldnt have done that, one has to sacrifice food or desire to receive spiritual messages or visionsIs it not for someone looking for spiritual messages or visions that would make that kinda choice? He wasn't seeking any, his spirit was probably leaving him in search of food for itself lol, but seriously, hunger isn't good at all |
Chai! Hunger! What hunger has done to me ehn, there was a time when my house mates and were i hungry, and we had just rice at home, it was during the 2008 ASUU strike and some of us had not traveled. No money, no ingredient, no kerosene, just rice. Just then one of us raised a suggestion, he said there was a tomato plant growing at the backyard of one of our friends hostel, and that we could use it in making soup, it wasn't a bad idea then in fact we all supported it, not until when he came with the tomatoes. I was able to count about two red, five semi red ones while the rest were all green. Although we were all shocked with what we saw but there was no time to think, there wasn't any other option. By this time we had borrowed a neighbour's stove and the rice was already on fire. No one cared about the colour of the tomatoes whether they were ripe or not, in fact am sure if he had brought blue tomatoes in that situation we still would have cooked it because we were very hungry. One of us went out and hustled for one cube of maggi and salt, after the rice was done, we grated the tomato and cooked it with the maggi and salt WITHOUT PEPPER! Now the funniest part is, on a normal day, none of us would eat rice with that kinda stew, but surprisingly, this particular stew smelt nice, so nice that i was already salivating, UNRIPE TOMATO! That day we ate like our lives depended on how much rice we ate and no one complained about the taste of the food. The stew colour was hard to determine because i was seeing different colours ranging from black to red, but no one cared, we were only concerned about filling our empty stomach. There was no water too since we usually buy sachet water to drink, but we had to improvise with the use of our saliva, and thank God, there was no pepper. Hunger can make one do weird things. |

Cold blooded: Caribbean blue is nice, but I prefer Orinocco Flow or even sweet lullaby They r among ma faves.Yeah orinoco flow, love that song too. And then there's China roses, christmas secrets, anywhere is, book of days, and so on...just love em all |
jaymichael: I love Enya. people assume or presume her songs to be demonic because of the language. she sings in her native old Celtic language and Latin and a bit of English. you know Latin is the language of magic and people associate the old Celtic language with pagan rites and rituals. she terms her music to be of the genre NEW AGE (music for the purpose of inducing relaxation) but she has won more awards as a musician of WORLD MUSIC (music influenced by local cultures) many people I know that presume her music to be kind of demonic are people that enjoyed ROBIN HOOD in their school days but they don't find the programme or the sound track demonic. I do tell them do you know that Enya did that ROBIN HOOD sound track? some of my favourites include STORMS IN AFRICA, AMARANTINE, LONG LONG JOURNEY. EBUDAE, MAY IT BE, FAR AND AWAY.... I can't begin to mention all. I just love Enya.Yeah spot on...my favourite track remains CARRIBEAN BLUE |
This afternoon i was listening to enya's playlist on my music player, while reading. Some friends of mine came visiting and it wasn't long after i had ushered them in before one of them recognized the voice from the music blaring from the sound system. 'Is that not enya'? he asked and i replied in the affirmative...I was surprised because the track that was playing as at that time was not a popular one like 'only time' that almost everyone is familiar with. After a while he begged me to change it because it was making him feel uncomfortable and when i asked how a song could make someone feel uncomfortable he said enya's songs are demonic and anyone who listened to it risked his/her soul being trapped by the devil. It wasn't the first time i'll be hearing it but what baffles me more is that most people who think of her song this way can't even explain what makes her song demonic, i guess its because her genre is kinda unique...or what do you guys think? |

dom: one sunday around 1992 or so a man dressed in white garment and carrying a bible was loitering in the zoo premises. When the attendants weren't looking he climbed into the lion's den and started shouting prayers, quoting the bible and commanding the lion to obey him like Daniel was obeyed. The lion initially was taken aback at the sudden intrusion by a stranger. But eventually realising that it is a lion, the king of the jungle, it pounced on the man, promptly flattened him and killed him with a bite or two at strategic parts of the body. Would i say luckily, the lion had eaten earlier So it didnt eat his flesh. This story was widely reported in newspapers then, particularly the National Concord and the gist continued spreading on campus up till 1997 when I entered U.I. Greatest Tedderites!!!Of the greatest of the greatest of the greatest zikites!!! |
brosdoncome: U r lying....I was there last month....its just one sick hungry ribs revealing lioness I saw, to God who made me. Nigerians can neva b sincere....smh!!!Lol...how can that be? Last year i went there i saw a pride, consisting of a full grown lion, which was rumoured to be around 17-20 years of age, and two lionesses, with one nursing about 4 cubs as at then...maybe you didn't look well |
Dawdy: Ever since I've been visiting this Zoo, I've never seen an elephant there. I wonder why they can get one. They once had an elephant but it died...i think due to an injury. And its not easy to keep one. They are very big mammals that need a lot of land space and consume a lot of food and water. |
faceliftnaija: point of correction, the embalmed gorrila's name is Haruna. Imade is the wife to Haruna, and she is the female gorrila, that you find still alive at U.I Zoo now. That's not true...they are both dead and according to what we were told, it was imade's death that led to haruna's because he became so lonely after her death...he was always moody...i think they've both been embalmed now. |
