I have 12 concrete ponds sitting on a 1000sq metres of land and occupying 1200 catfishes per pond. That's about 14,000 fishes in total. My fishes are currently 12weeks old from spawning and weigh average of 180Grams per fish. As of now, I feed them with 4-6MM blue crown feed and they currently consume 8bags of 15kg blur crown feed.

My main issue is that I experience about 6 - 8 mortalities daily. My review of the situation shows that it is due to cannibalism because I see only the skul of the dead fishes. The fishes are well sorted and have adequate space to move around.

Please I need guidance on how to reduce the mortality. Thanks.

Please can anyone assist with the average quantity of feed a 10,000 to 12,0000 juveniles (7weeks old) should eat per day. Currently, I feed them with a mixture of 2mm to 3mm Aqualis feed and they eat about 7kg per day now. Please help confirm if I am under geeding.

In addition, I would like to thank you all for the knowledge sharing session in this forum. Just by reading the thread, i was able to spawn this quantity myself. Great job guys!!!! I also hope i would be able to get referrals when its time to sell.

Whilst it is not proper to have kept the fishes in a bowl for 3days, I will also suggest you check the following:
1. The quality of your water. The PH resistance level is a vital factor to raising catfish
2. The quantity of feed administered at the point when they where in the bowl. I hope the feed plus their waste wasn't too concentrated in the bowl water.
3. The source of your fish also matters. However it is unlikely that this is the issue given what you explained
