BusinessRe: CBN Sacks CEOs And Management Of Five Banks by Vladmir2: 12:46pm On Aug 15, 2009
I need individual figures and facts of the affected banks. What are the names of the audit firms that audited these banks?and how were they able conclude the audit of those big organisations in few weeks?.Does it mean that after the second audit,if there would be any, that there is the possibilty of discovering more of the so called insolvent banks and consequently meaning that there would be more bailouts?.What if no investors come as have been seen with Nitel what would happen to government(OUR) money invested in these institutions?.please,@sagamite please dont respond to my question.

What are the parameters used in dismissing the CEOshuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuh?. Seriously i think this is political.Fine the affected banks might not be doing well, but certainly, they are not  the worst amonst the remaining banks.Let me not mention names. How does CBN,hope to salvage these banks, when all it has succeded in doing is to create panic and distrust.Seriously i think the banking sector is gradually sliding back to the pre-consolidation era when regulatory authorites use their powers for the advancement of their selfish interests without recourse to the effects of their actions on the economy. With this pronouncement, how do you expect me to trust the remaining so called stable banks with my little hard earned money. It is either they are yet to be caught or they bribed someone to look the other way or most likely they reached adeal with the officials of the apex bank to create some juicy position for them or their cronies. This  is my humble opinion.Going on monday to buy a new German safe box
BusinessRe: Extortion By Intercontinental Bank PLC by Vladmir2: 3:48pm On Aug 09, 2009
The most important thing security wise, with regards to ATMcards whether vervecard or magnetic stripe cards is,never disclose not only your PIN,but also your CARDNUMBER to a thirdparty and always ensure you use your DEBITCARDS on secure websites.

Thanks,Shaunscot for that incisive explanation.I think it is clearly a question of choice. It is either you request for the card and be charged or vice versa.IT IS CLEARLY A QUESTION OF CHOICE.

BusinessRe: Best Nigerian Bank? by Vladmir2: 6:18pm On Jun 27, 2009
Lets think about this, all this banks that we praise for no charges,no minimum balance, giving interest rates high above CBN's directive on fixed deposits,no ATM charges when you use their machines, free cakes etc.How do they make profit?
You would tell me they finance big projects like Sarah Palin's "bridge to nowhere".Have you also asked yourself how do they get access to such funds and at what cost.
They allow us to make calls in their banking halls thats more premium to insurance companies for more exposure to risks etc.how i wish some of these banks would open up to us the kind of costs they unnecessarily incure from such exposures,we will see that all that glitters is certainly not gold.
A better explanation of their financial status is better explained by the remuneration of their staffs.Buildings can deceive because, mortgages can take care of those in that,it helps to amortize the costs over a period of time.
The truth is that anybody who leaves his or her funds idle in a bank is short of business ideas. But if you have any reason to leave your hard earned money in a bank in Nigeria,go for those that charge for their services In most cases they are more on sound financial footing.UBAhuh?not at all.

TravelRe: West African Countries Hate Nigerians? by Vladmir2: 12:22pm On May 28, 2009
The answer is simple. You hate who you fear. But the question we should ask ourselves is,why do people hate us.If it's because we are successful then we shouldn't be bothered. But if it's because we are known for negative things then we have to change attitude and ways of doing things to help create a positive image for our dear nation.

LiteratureRe: Best African Author: Wole Soyinka or Chinua Achebe? by Vladmir2: 7:33pm On May 02, 2009
For prose I prefer Achebe while for drama I prefer Soyinka.Does this make any sense?Achebe is greater than Soyinka when it comes to prose and vice versa.
