You cannot see SGR? You cannot see Mombasa port expansion - now handling more than Lagos two ports combined? You cannot see Lamu Deep Sea Port - with 3 berts completed? The inner roads, the by-passes?

Maybe you're a blind?

The mombasa roads are under massive construction - especially in the mainland - so wait for a little longer - a year - you will see serious roads, interchanges and bridges in Mombasa.
Forget it Mombasa has no road or infrastructure.a drive through that slum and u will be surprised.
Nairobi-Mombasa rail is a federal infrastructure linking both cities.
Lamu is an abandoned wet pipe dream that is not feasible. Mainland is trash.,no road,no sewage just slum and dilapidated building.

Who cursed u guys

Shackman first rebuild the malls you burnt and looted to the ground. You looted 3000 stores and destroyed 100 malls. Stop hallucinating about growth. Focus on trying to maintain your middle class status - as it look likely you're soon going to be another failed state.

It has been calculated that so far about 800 stores were looted and 100 malls were either burnt down or suffered significant fire damage and a number of distribution centres, particularly in Durban, KwaZulu Natal, were looted with serious structural destruction.

Meanwhile, the eThekwini Economic Development and Planning Committee says about R1.5 bn has been lost in stock, a R15 bn loss to property, over 50 000 informal traders have lost their livelihoods, approximately 1.5 million people have lost their potential to earn an income and there are some 150 000 jobs at risk.

The overall result of the devastation is that there has been an estimated loss to the eThekwini GDP of upwards of R20 bn.

“Rebuilding may take two years depending on the extent and size of the centre. Some landlords may however decide to not rebuild as the risk is too high for future incidents.”

And the further tragedy is that owners have no measures left with which to protect their properties.
Your link said 800 stores but u pulled 3000 stores from ur ass.

Lots of infrastructure work in Mombasa city - gov has invested 36 billion dollars (Sh3.6 trillion at the Coast since 2013.)

https://www.the-star.co.ke/counties/coast/2021-08-12-uhuru-camps-at-coast-to-fast-track-legacy-projects/
The projects earmarked for completion before Uhuru’s exit from State House in August next year are; the Sh4.5 billion Makupa bridge, Sh16 billion three-decker Changamwe inter-change and dual road network to Kwa Jomvu and Sh19 billion dual road from Kwa Jomvu to Mariakani.

Others are the Sh40 billion new Kipevu Oil Terminal at the Port of Mombasa and phase II of the second container terminal at the Port of Mombasa, which has an additional capacity of 450,000 containers.

So far, the President has launched Phase I of the Dondo Kundu bypass which cost Sh11 billion and the Sh1.9 billion Likoni floating bridge.

On May 20, he commissioned the first berth of the Sh40 billion Lamu Port.

Other mega projects for Mombasa are the Dongo Kundu Special Economic Zone, dualing of the Mombasa-Malindi highway and the Sh85 billion permanent bridge across the Likoni crossing channel.

The 1.4km Mombasa Gateway Bridge, will connect Mombasa Island with South Coast, substituting the 84-year-old ferry service that suffers perennial breakdowns delaying traffic flow to and from Mombasa.

The interchange is meant to address the congestion that was being experienced at Changamwe roundabout as trucks heading to the port of Mombasa to pick cargo sometimes block those going to Moi International Airport to catch a flight.

“This will be one of the modern interchanges in Africa and is due for completion on October 21. This project will make Mombasa beautiful,” the CS said.

On phase II of the Dongo Kundu bypass, Macharia said a Japanese consortium, Fujita Corporation-Mitsubishi Corporation, is working to complete the project on time.

The project is now 33 per cent done.

The Sh25 billion project will include an 8.96km dual carriageway, construction of an interchange at the Likoni-Lunga Lunga highway and two bridges; a 660-metre long one at Mwache and another at Mteza straddling 1,440 metres.

“This will be the longest bridge in the country,” Macharia said.

Phase III of the project, which will connect the Mteza Bridge to South Coast road in Kibundani area, is 85 per cent complete.

Macharia said Phase I of the Dongo Kundu bypass, which was commissioned in May 2018, has proven to be a game changer.

“Once this project is completed, people coming from Nairobi, will not need to use the Likoni crossing channel to get to the South Coast,” he said.

Currently, crossing from Mombasa to Kwale might take a motorist about three hours depending on the traffic snarl up at the Likoni ferry crossing channel.

“After the completion of this road, it will take you an average of 30 minutes to drive from Mombasa town to the South Coast,” Macharia said.

The Dongo Kundu project is connected to the Miritini Standard Gauge Railway terminus and the Moi International Airport.

The CS said to also address the challenge of traffic snarl up at Kibarani in Makupa causeway, the government is committed to complete the bridge within the next 10 months.

He said currently, Mombasa is not a true Island because the Makupa causeway has blocked water from flowing around the Island.

“After the completion of the bridge, we will demolish the causeway to allow water to move around. We will now reaffirm the status of Mombasa as a true Island,” he said.
So where is the $36bn in Mombasa.when u drive round Mombasa doesn’t it seems to u like $100 m has even been spent in infrastructure.

Nigeria’s largest city, Lagos, is constructing a light rail system under a public-private partnership (PPP). The Lagos Rail Mass Transit System project is sponsored by the Lagos State Government (LSG) and being developed by Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) on behalf of LSG.

China Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC) was appointed as the contractor for the construction of the first line (Blue). The contract includes the fundamental design and development of the rail infrastructure.

CCECC is constructing the Blue line in two phases. The first phase includes the National Theatre to Mile 2 section and the second involves the Mile 2 to Okokomaiko section.

Construction of the Blue line was initially expected to be completed by 2011 but was delayed to 2020 due to funding issues. Alstom also partnered with LAMATA for the completion of Blue line.

Point 3, why should I say your project started in 1985 yet we wholly understand with all cincher in place that the project was approved in 2006 and it break ground in 2011 grin? Lying is unacceptable here.

And they keep launching and signing new projects while some that started way back in 1970s are still under construction. 150km Lagos-Ibadan expressway is one such example - under notorious Reynolds RCC. I think it lack something like Kenya's vision 2030. Something so broad every new gov will come, complete the previous projects, before embarking on new ones.

Again they have horror contractors - like Reynolds Construction Company Limited - the one that took 10yrs to construct 5kms in industrial area - after sneaking in as SBI international - no Nigeria contractor is ever getting another contract in kenya.

The horror they visited on kenya will not be forgotten soon - and this what they do to Nigerians every day

The Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) says Reynolds Construction Company (RCC) has failed to complete works on the Enterprise-Likoni road junction, five years after the project was started – a development that has seen firms losing business due to the poor state of the road.

Companies have lost about 30 percent of their business due to the bad state of Eastgate Road off Mombasa Road. Trucks now move slowly from Mlolongo to Inland Container Depot (ICD) spending more than three hours on a stretch that would usually be a 15-minute drive,” KAM chairman Sachen Gudka said.

although RCC had never done any road construction work in Kenya, it was given the job as part of conditions by the European Union (EU), who financed the project through a grant of Sh3.4 billion – with Kenya settling the balance.

EU insisted that the contractor had to come from an EU state member or an affiliate of a European company. RCC is a subsidiary of Switzerland headquartered SBI International Holdings AG, which has interests in construction and other sectors, and has operations in different countries.

In April, the Ministry of Infrastructure said it had cancelled the contract for the 6.1km Enterprise Road stretch, a critical artery for Nairobi’s Industrial Area, following delays by RCC.

The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (Kura), which is overseeing the project, has previously blamed the delays on differences between it and RCC amid reports that the Nigerian company had received upfront payment for the job.
Noise! Noise!! Noise!!! .This project will be completed by Q1 of next year.your zoo can never ever afford to build such things.u are relegated to receiving Spanish garbage as compensation for ur disappointments.
