Politics5 Most Important Sets You Will Definitely See In The Church by Vodkka(op): 9:21am On Apr 27, 2015
These are sets of people you do see in the church.
When I say CHURCH, I really mean Church not those ones that there congregation are not up to the number of the Apostle grin.....let's get there:

1. TRUE WORSHIPERS: This set are the those ones that has the utmost respect for God. They are those ones that St. Paul refers their body as the temple of the Holy-Spirit. They always have their Bible with them (Just like me) with other Spiritual Books.

2. THE FAKERS: This group are mostly girls. They are capable of carrying 5 different versions of Bible to the church with "Sac" bag forming that they are children of GOD. Whenever the priest/pastor ask someone to read the Bible for us, fakers will have at least 30% of those that will stand up and shout: Praise God!!

3. THE DRESSERS: The girls are most guilty of this. They are Anonymous at the beginning of Mass/Service but fully manifest during offering. Most of the time during second collection when the catechist will say "JESUS' or OUR LORD's Zone. Dem go now stand go collect holy water grin

4. THE CHATTERS: This group are back-seaters. They always have their destination at the last row of Pews, they don't even know where the reading are taken from because are always busy setting their eyes on their phones 2go-ing, Facebook-ing, tweet-ing, whatsapp-ing, etc
They sometimes be like " Am reading KJV Bible in my phone"

5.THE SLEEPERS: They are mostly those on menopause. The have a particular seat position usually at the end of each pew though some will be in the middle of a pew. They most annoying thing is that if you do "corporal work of mercy" to awake them, they will tell you *Am not sleeping* Looking at his/her eye, it will be as if he/she has already smoke 5 wraps of marijuana/Igbo
Hehehehehe ....This group eeh, their problem is cureless.

PoliticsProbe Electoral Fraud In South- East --- APGA Urges Buhari by Vodkka(op): 10:18pm On Apr 26, 2015
The All Progressive Grand Alliance has urged the President-elect, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), to probe what it described as election frauds in Abia State when he assumes office on May 29.

APGA National Chairman, Chief Victor Umeh, who made the call at a joint press conference with the party’s governorship candidate in Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, on Sunday in Umuahia, rejected the result of the poll and vowed that the party would challenge it at the election petitions tribunal.

He alleged that “while other parts of the country are celebrating democracy, the Independent National Electoral Commission used the South-East for experiment.”

Umeh alleged that both the April 11 governorship poll and the April 25 rerun in Abia State were marred by irregularities.

He accused the INEC of colluding with the Peoples Democratic Party to rig the poll in favour of PDP’s candidate.

He expressed shock that INEC ignored APGA’s earlier call for the outright cancellation of the controversial results from three Local Government Areas on April 11 poll, but instead reinstated the cancelled results.

Umeh said, “The controversy that was generated by the Returning Officer in restating the election results he had cancelled in Obingwa, Osisioma and Isialangwa North, necessitated APGA’s earlier call for the cancellation of the ” out of the reality figures from the affected councils.”

Umeh insisted that INEC ought to have sustained the cancellation of the results from the three council areas as it did in Imo State in 2011, alleging that “even the rerun was held under incoherent preparations as up till Friday night, details of polling units, where election was to hold, remained speculative.”

He claimed that the election was won by APGA but manipulated in favour of PDP, vowing to head to the tribunal to seek redress.

“APGA rejects the result of the poll as announced not because we cannot lose election but can accept losing election through credible process. We won the election clearly but our mandate was stollen.

“Accordingly, we will not resort to self help; we will challenge the result at the tribunal “, he vowed.

He promised that “APGA will firmly stand by Otti until he reclaims his stolen mandate,” he added.

Umeh said Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State has restated his commitment to ensuring that Otti gets justice.

Otti thanked Abians for “their massive support ” for him, and appealed to them to remain calm and prayerful as he heads for the tribunal.

He vowed to stop at nothing in reclaiming his ” stolen mandate”.

“Election has come and gone but the battle has just started. Evil cannot prevail over good but if it seems to prevail, it is only for a while.

“Weeping can only endure for a night, joy comes in the morning. We will not resort to brigandage because two wrongs cannot make a right, Otti added.

He alleged that voters were intimidated and scared from the polling units by coffins paraded in Aba on the eve of the election by suspected PDP sympathisers.

Otti said the rerun was fraudulently cancelled in Umunneochi council under questionable circumstances after it had been listed by INEC, and accused the electoral umpire of complicity.

PoliticsXenophobia: FG Recalls Nigerian Envoys To South Africa by Vodkka(op): 9:58pm On Apr 25, 2015
The Federal Government has recalled its High Commissioner to South Africa, Martin Cobham, and his deputy, Uche Okeke, to protest the continued attacks by South Africans on Nigerians and other foreigners in the former apartheid enclave. In a statement on Saturday by the Foreign Affairs Ministry, the Minster of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Aminu Wali, said the envoys had been summoned for consultation. The statement read, “The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Aminu Wali, has summoned for consultation, Nigeria’s senior diplomats on tour of duty in South Africa. These are the Acting High Commissioner in Pretoria, Ambassador Martin Cobham, and the Deputy High Commissioner in Johannesburg, Ambassador Uche Ajulu-Okeke.“The invitation is in connection with the ongoing xenophobia in South Africa targeting foreigners, mainly African migrants.“It will be recalled that the current spate of attacks began about three weeks ago, and have so far claimed some seven lives, destruction of property and created fear and uncertainty in the minds of African migrants in the former apartheid enclave.“The South African President, Mr. Jacob Zuma, has condemned the attacks in a statement presented to the South African National Assembly. Ditto for the Zulu Monarch, Goodwill Zwelithini, whose alleged inciting comment provoked the attacks. Well meaning South Africans have also organised peace marches against xenophobia.”

PoliticsElection Palava:one Dies As Kogi PDP, APC Youths Clash- PUNCH by Vodkka(op): 6:18pm On Apr 25, 2015
One person was feared dead on Saturday as youths of the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress clashed at Anyigba Okura constituency of Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The clash occurred during the supplementary election in some wards and polling units across six LGAs of Kogi State. One person, Ibrahim Oyibo, 26, was said to have died while several others sustained varying degrees of gunshot wounds during the confrontation.
The candidate of the PDP in Anyigba Okura constituency, Alhassan Ogwu, said Oyibo was his cousin.According to him the young man was with him in the house when gunmen on motorcycles, numbering about 10, stormed his residence. He alleged that they shot sporadically at his residence for a long time and later shot Oyibo dead on the spot. He added that riot policemen on patrol later dislodged the assailants.
Mr. John Makolo, the media officer to the APC candidate, Abdullahi Bewa, said he was unaware of the attack. He challenged Ogwu to identify the attackers, saying if the attack occurred, Ogwu should be able to name Oyibo’s killers.“My principal is very busy with the election and will not be ready to trade words with Ogwu.
He should stop crying foul when there is none,” he said. The Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Shola Adebayo, confirmed the incident. He said, “I can comfirm the incident. No arrest has been made, but investigation has commenced.”

PoliticsSenate President: The Contentions And Candidates-vanguard by Vodkka(op): 4:52pm On Apr 24, 2015
IT was in May 2003 and members of the House of Representatives who won re-election in the National Assembly elections that took place the month before, were seeking ways and manners toproject themselves as older legislators at the commencement of the new legislative term.ONesuggestion that was quickly adopted was theamendment of the House Standing Rules to establish the principle of ranking in the election of principal officers of the House. The principle, which the lawmakers said was a legislative practise adopted in all parts of the world was, even extended to committees where it was decreed that ranking would be observed even in the allocation of committee chairmen. It was a principle that was also quickly adopted by the Senate where newly elected senators had quickly distinguished themselves as digital senators as different from analogue senators thatwas showcased in the form of the older or returning senators. Senators Ike Ekweremadu andTimothy Adudu were among the leading lights of the digital senators who by sheer number were sometimes able to push their way to exert their privileges and entitlements from the Senator Adolphus Wabara leadership of the Senate at that time.

ome of the analogue senators in canvassing theneed for ranking even pointed to the United States Senate, where some of them alleged that there was even ranking in the allocation of car parking space between older and newer senators. However, where it came to disbursement of allowances and other financial privileges, it was conventional wisdom that the digital senators must not be slighted, a fact that Senator Wabarawas to learn in a bitter way almost midway into the life of the Fifth Senate when digital and analogue senators but aside divisions to force him out of office on the allegation of disproportionate sharing of allowances.12 years after the incorporation of ranking in therules of the two chambers of the National Assembly, the issue has again come to the fore asthe two chambers of the National Assembly contend over the election of presiding officers. The issue is especially in contention in the Senate where the principal candidates for the office of Senate President have emerged in the persons of two rooted politicians, Senators Bukola Saraki of Kwara State and George Akume of Benue State. As at press time the National Executive Committee, NEC of the All Progressives Congress, APC was yet to fix a meeting to ratify the decision on the zoning of the office but advocatesof the two men were pushing the aspirations of the two men on several fronts.Senator Akume has nevertheless, wormed his wayinto the hearts of many on the basis of his position as the Senate minority leader when the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP was removed frompower. Many are looking up to him with nostalgia that he should continue from where he stopped as minority leader on the prism that a winning team should not be changed.Akume’s ambition was strongly canvassed this week when Senator Barnabas Gemade gave him aringing endorsement for the office. However, he is seriously tackled by a perception problem which many senators and stakeholders feel could challenge his aspiration.

Perception problem

It is also felt that his stewardship of Benue State was not as exemplary as it could have been. Evenmore challenging for him is the fact that he has been taken for trial for by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. It is bound to be a riveting obstacle for him in the face of the determination of the leader of the party, Muhammadu Buhari for a change to the status quo.Another issue that has arisen to challenge Akumeis the fact that all the Senate Presidents from North Central, including the outgoing one, Senator David Mark, have come from Benue State. The others before Mark were Iyorcha Ayu and Ameh Ebute. It is a point that advocates of the candidacy of Senator Bukola Saraki are bound to throw up. ForSaraki, his emergence as Senate President could also be nostalgic, given his father’s easy mention as arguably the most colourful Senate Leader in the history of the country. Pointers are also madeof his role in rejuvenating the Nigerian GovernorsForum, NGF, an argument that Akume’s supporters are putting aside on the fact that Saraki has just spent only one term in the Senate.

It is that argument on ranking that is now inspiring talk of Senator Ahmad Lawan, the longest serving legislatorin the ranks of the APC. Senator Lawan, chairmanof the Senate Committee on Public Accountsholds a doctorate degree and had been in the legislature since 1999 when he first came to the House of Representatives on the ticket of the now defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP.His canvassers are saying that arguments on ranking should focus on him and his legislative achievements if they are to find any weight. His supporters are also canvassing the claim thathe would unlike the two major contenders be more accessible on the claim that he does not have executive hangover, having never been a governor with executive powers. While a number of senators are said to be disposed to him, they are, however, challenged bythe fact that Senator Lawan is from outside the North-Central, the zone that many in the leadership of the APC were said to have zoned the office to. The prospects of Senator Lawan is also causing some from the Northeast to push forward their own argument for commensurate reward. They are putting their hopes on Lawan.

PRIVILEGES THAT COME WITH SENIORITY IN THE UNITED STATES SENATE

•Preference in choosing committees of the Senate.
•By tradition the most senior person in the committee from the majority party takes positionof chairman and the most senior senator of the minority party is the ranking member.
•Senior senators take seats closer to the dais.
•Senior senators are also given the privilege of occupying better offices in the Senate building.

PoliticsExpert Asks FG To Go Back To Economic Policies Of 1960s by Vodkka(op): 3:46pm On Apr 24, 2015
Abuja – The Global Trade Forum, a non-governmental Organisation (NGO) has said that economy policies of the 60s will assist the Federal Government in diversifying the economy. The NGO Lead Director, Dr Gregory Achimugu, gave the advice in Abuja on Thursday. Achimugu recalled that Nigeria as an emerging economy was doing well in the 60s because it was not practicing a mono-economy that focused on exploring one product for economic gains. He said now that the Nigerian economy depended heavily on crude oil, the fall in the price of crude oil at the international market had taken its toll on the economy.“The most logical thing for the country to do is to diversify. There are various ways of doing this. You can do this through agriculture.“In the 60s, the North was known for groundnut, the East was known for palm oil and cashew while the West was known for cocoa.“With these products, Nigeria was able to build University of Nigeria, Nssuka, Ahmadu Bello Univeristy, Zaria, among other higher institutions of learning in the country,’’ he said. Achimugu also called for drastic methods to address revenue decline at the moment. He said that to boost revenue in the short term, Nigeria should focus on agriculture, especially growing crops with short gestation period, high yield with export value.“We can also go into mining. Mining of limestone should be revived. We already have mining facilities scattered all over the country. Let’s make use of them.“We also need to resurrect our tourist centres. We have a thousand and one tourist centres that are not adequately developed. Nigeria should develop them to their full capacity.“Artifacts like the car where Murtala Mohammed was shot in can attract tourists if it is well displayed. Even the weapons and cars used during the Biafra.“We can also open up the Lake Chad Basin further for tourism. The whole of Plateau State could be made into a tourist town. The weather, the scenery is perfect for such a project,’’ he said. On tax to boost revenue, Achimugu said that the government should take luxury taxation very seriously.“There are people in this country who move around with five Land Cruisers at the same time, they live in a three story building alone, and pop expensive wine and champagne every day.“Such people should be taxed heavily for such extravagance. This is what is done in developed countries.’’Another economist, Mr Jonathan Kwasau from Kaduna State University, Faculty of Agricultural Science, said that Cassava was one agricultural produce with huge potential for the economy.“Cassava is a high yield crop. It can be grown in any part of the country. It requires low fertiliser to grow and less care than most crops and at the same time it is of economic value.“In fact, cassava can guarantee huge revenue for the country if attention is adequately paid to it. It can be eaten locally or exported.“Today cassava flour has become very lucrative for local bakers. It is used for garri and we know what garri is to an average Nigerian.“There is also starch and other side dishes made from cassava.“Casava is an important crop that is why it is one of the value chains of the current administration’s Agricultural Transformation Agenda,’’ Kwasau said.

PoliticsAPC Will Know I’m An Attack Dog –adamu Mu’azu by Vodkka(op): 2:47pm On Apr 24, 2015
The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, has said PDP will not go into any alliance with the incoming administration of the opposition All Progressives Congress. He has promised that instead of being friendly with the incoming government of Muhammadu Buhari, the APC will know that he, as the PDP chairman, is an attack dog. Mu’azu, who made the declaration while answering questions from journalists in Umuahia, Abia State, after his visit to Governor Theodore Orji on Thursday night, said PDP would rather give a tough opposition to APC from May 29 after the latter takes over power.

He said, “By the special grace of God, we will give them a run for their money; that I can assure you under my leadership despite that I am accused of not being an attack dog. They will understand it later. I will wait until such a time when God gives me the opportunity; then they will know whether or not I am an attack dog.”Muazu said PDP would undergo rebranding under his leadership so as to be able to reclaim its dominance and enviable position in Nigeria’s political landscape. He said, “The PDP National Working Committee, under my supervision, will be able to rebrand the party, redirect the party, and ensure that the party takes up its national and state leadership position.

“The mistakes we have made individually and collectively will be analysed by a committee and pass to us for implementation to ensure success in subsequent elections.”On the PDP’s poor outing at the polls, Muazu said he had taken full responsibility, but submitted that “power comes from God; PDP is under testing by God.”The PDP chairman added, “Unfortunately for them, the responsibility as to whether we succeed or fail, does not solely rest on the National Working Committee. However, I have repeatedly said it that success has too many fathers and brothers too. Failure has non. I have taken full and total responsibility for whatever has happened to the party now.“I believe in God. And I also believe in destiny and I also believe that power and glory belong to the Almighty God.

He gives to whom he wants when he wants. Therefore, he has taken it from us. We give thanks to him all the same today and in the future, and forever, we will remain thankful unto him.“I assure you that we are under test by God and God will not let us fail. We will succeed. We will pass this test. ”During a courtesy session earlier with Orji, Muazu expressed concern over the manipulation of results in some quarters to rob PDP of victory in Abia governorship poll but vowed that the party would vigorously resist such moves. Orji thanked him for the visit, and said the visit would help ginger the morale of PDP members in the state. Muazu was accompanied on the visit by the PDP Deputy National Chairman, Uche Secondus, and National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh.
