Politics › Re: Restructuring: Kano, Katsina Kick Against Devolution Of Power by Vutseck(m): 10:24pm On Sep 28, 2017 |
sweetgala: That cartoon is not only fallacious it has malicious intent in it's creation.
Before the SS and SE dreamt up restructuring the SW and NC had been speaking of it and promoting it. DAWN has been set up for many years with the aim of preparing the SW for regional growth and planning; if you examine the documents by oódua group going back over a decade you would know restructuring of the current system is one of their principles.
Any attempt by SS leaders to promote restructuring is born out of greed, a region where productivity is at it's lowest where civility is rare and the future is uncertain. Restructuring would not give SS anything if all they desire is resources control that region would be broke and unsustainable within a few years while militants siphon the commonwealth away.
The SE is without a doubt the biggest looser in any plans to restructure the current economy. That region has relatively little competitive advantage. Forget being good business people many tribes have produced champions of industry trade and commerce in their numbers there is nothing peculiar about SE.
The NW and NW could do well if they put together a plan some states would perform poorly to start with some would excel put the door.
SW would be the real winners of fiscal federalism these region has a plan and unique leadership system. There is agreement on how to move forward, geographic advantage, good arable land, access to water , relatively good topography, strategic advantage.
NE need to first deal.with BH , but they have a unique edge. all these your bla bla bla ...the SE will be the biggest looser according to you, they aren't complaining as long as it guarantees peaceful co-existence among Nigerians the issues of agitation, nepotism, favouritism etc. will fizzle out when restructured how can you claim your region have all the resources and more viable when restructured yet you are blocking every move to make Nigeria move forward why do you have to cry more than the bereaved . |

BluntBoy: Which other tribe complains as much as the Igbos? You think Ojukwu or Kanu are fools for wanting more than the 5 South East states? No, because they know that the South East region would be nothing without the oil of the ND and of other vibrant oil producing states. you are deviating from the topic which is restructuring we understand your state generate humongous IGR and more viable than all eastern States oya let's restructure are you for yes or no . |

TheCabal: Chai.. u drank the cool aid.
What IGR.. have u seen the IGR of the east and what the centre gives the east. Think ... Think .. why do eastern businessmen mAke more money outside the east. With little IGR hence industrialization will be top in their agenda, but with epileptic power supply you currently enjoys will not encourage those with such idea to prosper even with humongous IGR from any other region will still be a waste hence they remained consumers as against productivity in your second paragraph, Eastern parts are already saturated with business activities which necessitated some of them to take advantage of other regions that are not business savvy for expansion Chinese and Indians are good example of people that takes their trade to where they would have less competition lastly, with restructured system, Fulani herdsmen menace all over the regions will no longer be a news . |
Politics › Re: The Kanu Effect And Nigeria's Nemesis. by Vutseck(m): 4:35am On Sep 26, 2017 |
TheCabal: Pls calm down. If the east truly re_capitalized . IPOB won't stand a chance. Ipob was able to gain momentum with large followers because of the flawed system that benefits only but some sections of the country talk of nepotism, favouritism, sectionalism and so forth these are among the things restructured Nigeria will address the Easterners will benefits from human capital development which the current system does not support after 50yrs... you can't continue doing things in the same direction and expect different results In that arrangement, any region that wishes can use their total IGR or better still, take a loan to sponsor religious tourism, no one cares . |
Politics › Re: The Kanu Effect And Nigeria's Nemesis. by Vutseck(m): 3:36am On Sep 26, 2017 |
TheCabal: Giftq .. permit me to speak to you as a brother.
As my good friend Ekele Ufondu told me that alcohol does not lie and my father a titled man for the SS said after 5 bottles whatever a man's says is true.
Restructuring will make the east weaker. Anything that has to do with limiting the inflow of capital to the sole responsibility of the east translates to a tortoise vs hare development policy.
The east must delay restructuring till it has roads, relationships, schools, hospitals, railways. It cannot do with restructuring ... Where will the money come from . Not the centre and restructuring will affect each states ability to pay loans.
I wish we can see in person. So we can discuss. And I explain why the east support for restructure does not benefit the east. At least not today. Cry me a river ! is the East complaining ? after the civil war the East was able to re-develop without the assistance of the FG your submission is clearly like someone crying more than the bereaved hence you wants to be dependent on oil money . |
